A great community resource... if you can access it…read more The park and pool's website information has not been updated. Hours and cost information listed online are not correct. The pool is lovely and well-maintained. You can swim laps, paddle around, or take swimming lessons at different times of the day. I tried to use the pool a couple of times during the day but wasn't able to because it was either mysteriously closed or had no public access - swim lessons were being given. The changing rooms are a bit... Spartan and rustic - nothing but a few benches in a concrete box. Do not go by the hours listed online. You have to physically go to the pool and look at the noticed posted at the pool entrance. (see photo) The price online is also wrong. The fact that it is late June and the Recreation Center sill has a lit Christmas tree in the lobby lets you know that oversight and management is nearly non-existent. If they don't have the leadership to pack a Christmas tree in a box, then certainly don't expect the website to show current information.

I was worried they wouldn't take credit cards since it's such a low fee, but they do. The pool didn't feel like a typical 25 yard length, so I asked the lifeguard and he says it's a 33 meter pool. Bear in mind as you plan your workout. Pool has five or six lanes and is flanked by bleachers and some very basic changing room/shower facilities. Lap swim hours (pictured) are pretty extensive Monday through Friday. Less so Saturday and Sunday but still workable. I came in the middle of a work day and had a lane to myself.

A couple of months ago, I would…read morehave given her five stars, but a couple of no-shows and (one-sided) exchanges later, she will have to settle for one (because I can't give none). We initially wanted to work it out since she was great with our son but, in the end, I am pretty sure that the amount of time that we spent waiting for her to (not) show up would come close to or surpass the amount of time that she actually spent in the pool with our child. She is probably just overextended but won't admit to being so and, definitely doesn't apologize for (and, more importantly, won't issue a refund for) wasting our time and being a no-show on multiple occasions. The first couple of lessons were good. At some point, we committed to biweekly lessons. Since we were coming from work, we requested the earliest time that we could be available. Every week she tried to make it earlier. We (sort of) let this slide until the time she was running late (even though she had been available for a lesson 30 minutes earlier and hence could have been on time) and then decided to cancel our lesson so that she could get to her next lesson. That, unfortunately, was the beginning of the end. From there on out, despite the fact that we had STANDING appointments with her, we never knew when she would show and when she wouldn't. There was no warning, no apologies, and, more often than not, no answers to my texts when our child was ready I was trying to figure out were she was. No-shows were interspaced with occasional lessons which unfortunately caused this to go on longer than it otherwise would have. Exchanging messages (that were translated into Spanish) didn't clear up the situation, neither did going through the intermediary through which I had gotten her name. The final straw came when she was sent up to the pool by the doorman who she knew had spoken to my husband. By the time, my husband and child got to the pool, she had left. GONE! I can't really attribute her screw ups to the (not insignificant) language barrier (thanks, Google Translate). We never finished the series of lessons that we prepaid for. I never, ever do not go after/get what I have already paid for but in this case dealing with Juli just stopped being worth it.
