We came to El Paso to visit family. We are from Las Vegas and were pleasantly surprised at this bar. We came for drinks and can say the drinks were well made! The servers were really nice and were on it! They would check on us constantly and it was just great service. As the night got later a dj arrived and played great music. What I liked was that the dj was just loud enough to get the energy going but not too loud where you couldn't have conversations. We will definitely come back and try the food next time because it looks and smells great! read more

One of the BEST dry rub lemon pepper wings in town!!! I came here after a tattoo session at Steady Ink nearby and was absolutely blown away at how delicious their wings are! The flavor is a perfect blend and cooked to perfection as well. The outside is crispy yet the meat stays moist and juicy. I hate it when wings are overcooked and dry. They also have chicken strips for their flavors that can be ordered with fries. Also bomb! Service is reasonably fast when you approach the bartenders for an order. Took about 10ish minutes for my wings and strips to be done. I also ordered a bottle of water and dr pepper, all as a to go order. It's a bar pub with pool tables and on a Friday night, it was starting to get busier. They unfortunately forgot to include my drinks with my order and I had to go back for them. Luckily it wasn't far, but I would have been very upset if I was further away. Great place for great wings if you're in the area. I'm not sure how crazy it could get but I imagine pretty wild if you stay long enough. The wings were okay, but what really pissed me off was the machismo guy (bartender or manager) with the backwards green hat this past Sunday. He was just straight up borderline sexually harassing the other female bartenders. He'd press himself against them and say things in their ears and it was obvious the girls were uncomfortable with it. They'd squirm and laugh nervously. How has management not seen this? Maybe it's just acceptable in El Paso? Either way, it's really sad and, needless to say, I won't be returning. read more

3.5 star. It is more of a sports bar. When we arrived that night, ppl were watching football. It's not my thing. Luckily the game ended quickly so it turned into a normal bar. My friends ordered some beer and nachos. I got myself a Smirnoff Apple b/c I hate beer. Surprisingly the nachos were among the best I've tasted. It was so cheesy and spicy with the jalapeño. Oh my goodness. I never expected that from a sports bar! I also enjoyed the music this place was playing. That's another pleasant surprise of the night. Update they compensated me 40 dollars just to replace it. A different manager helped me out and handled things properly. Still an annoying issue that I shouldn't had to deal with. If I could leave a 0 review I would. They lost my ID. I gave it to the bartender to get the balls for a pool table. There's only 8 pool tables and they some how managed to loose my ID. I was upset and told the bartender thanks for ruining my weekend since I'm not from here. The manager did nothing besides say come back tomorrow to see if they found my ID. Although valid he couldn't do anything, and I was upset. The inconvenience on having to order a new one and wait a whole 2+ weeks till I got my ID and I use to to travel on plane is ridiculous and even when I explained why I'm bothered they kicked me out because they said I'm over reacting. HOW? They would be upset if they trusted me with their ID and I lost it. By lost it I mean gave it to someone else. Now I have to worry about someone else using my ID and potentially have them use it in a bad manner. They made me feel as it's my fault for reacting negatively for them loosing my ID. Again it is not negative, we come enjoy good times here frequently. If you are looking for a classy bar, this is not it. I come to this bar on the regular and I always have fun. After work and on Sundays for free pool. I adore most of the servers they are always nice and attentive. But today our server Ale was really inconsiderate. We were waiting for our beer for approximately 15 minutes and she brought them to us..sticky glasses and not as cold as I normally get. she was also wearing pajama shorts which we thought was very unprofessional. To top it off she spent over an hour sitting at a table with her friends chatting. She never checked on us ONCE! Our usual server Maity (pernounced mighty sorry If it is misspelled) is a doll! She's very attentive and is just all around an amazing person. Anywho. Rant over. This is likely the best place to catch a game in the city, as the cavernous bar is set up with a large projection screen flanked by 6 smaller LCD screens on each side in the main viewing area. A party of approximately 20-25 UT fans came here to watch the Holiday Bowl vs ASU and they set us up nicely in front, even converting several of their pool tables to accomodate the late-arrivers. They had the typical brews on tap and in bottle, but their PBR was cheap and servicable. The food was fairly forgettable, but who comes to sportsbars for the food anyway? The sightlines for the TVs are the most important thing for your average game-watcher, and The Ale House did a fine job in this regard. For some reason, this place gets the club kids at night, which would surprise the shit out of me had this bar NOT been located in El Paso, but the city has such unusual bar culture that I just kind of dismissed it. Gathering from the locals comments waiting in a long line outside, such a sight is not atypical for this bar. So, get there early, I suppose. read more

I have been to many bars in my long life of 16 years of age and I attended this institution to watch the GOAT, royal highness, Tom Brady vanquish the KC Chiefs in a thrilling playoff game that the mystics will reference in their ballads. Similarly the mystics will comment on the unsustainable nature of this bar. Generally speaking, when attending a bar that serves food, not a hurricane shelter that this place must see itself as, but say a bar/restaurant, I would expect my food to be served in non-Styrofoam cups. We are not a bunch of peasants tilling the land waiting for the sun to set, you can serve me my beer in a glass please. Plastic cups! Did Costco have a sale?? You can treat me like an adult not a 16 year old fraternity pledge happy to taste bud light for the first time in his life and think that he's drunk. Like please, the stock market is up! Being the Westsider that I am i get terrified at driving out to the Eastside where all the crazy terrible drunk memories happen. Been here more than a couple times for birthday celebrations and it always gets crazy. I really like the pool tables and the dart games everywhere i go and this place has that. They also have a lot of TVs since it does feel like a sports bar. It's usually pretty busy during the week too since they have specials all week long. The food is really great for bar food. The wings and the loaded fries are a must try. The bartenders here are nice and helpful and really help with your experience. Their beers on tap are numerous and you can walk along the entire bar and see different taps for different beers. Usually there is a DJ playing depending on the day but even then they always have pretty upbeat music playing. read more

Border City Ale House is my favorite place to go for two things: sports and wings. I first went here two years ago with my father, who was visiting from Lubbock and wanted to watch a Texas Tech Football Game. They turned on the big screen to the Tech game for us. I also watched the Super Bowl here, and several games from the recent World Series, and had a great experience each time. It's a friendly, neighborhood bar kind of atmosphere that I really like. I've had a number of good waitresses but Becca is the best, and we only sit in her section now. And the wings! Who would have thought a local sports bar like this would have the best wings in town. The garlic parmesan wings can't be beat - followed closely by hot & honey and lemon pepper. My friend and I have made Border City Ale House our go-to place for dinner after our club meeting every Tuesday. We start to salivate in the afternoon already thinking about the wings. I don't know how they do it, but they are amazing. Better than Track One. I argue all the time with a work colleague who claims Track One wings are the best in town - I tell her their wings are okay, but Border City Ale House has the best wings in the Border Land, no question about it. And other food is good, too, including the Cuban sandwich. Can't wait for the Cowboys-Eagles game - Becca told us there is an Eagles fan club who watches the games there, and it can get rowdy!
