I can actually see the boats from our deck across the bay on the Tiverton side. The slips are great, the docks are in great shape and the amenities are fantastic too! They have a big in-ground swimming pool, laundry facility, nice big restrooms with showers, swing set for the kiddos, Weber grills at the entrance of each dock and a fantastic staff that is always about the property. Every year at the end of the season they cater a big BBQ bash in the South Yard as a thank you for all the members and their guests. Always a great time!!

I brought my three boys with me as they were excited and I know we had a really short drive to the marina. A lot went wrong. The boat was taking In some water through behind the engine and one engine lost fuel prime and would not restart. I called the marina and the owner was so kind she helped us dock which from my limited skills especially with one engine was a catastrophe. She let me go where I could and showed us how to tie up. The marina moved the boat to the correct slip for me and I am currently figuring out what to do but the marina was kind not judgmental, calm. And helpful even though I definitely made some poor decisions in attempting this without another adult. The owner's attitude made a bad situation of which she didn't cause more manageable and didn't make my bad day worse.

The town put in 22 additional slips for boats of 30 and 40 feet, and has transient reservations for 35 slips and 17 moorings. Did I mention the brand new Fuel Dock? The total is now 180-plus residential dock spaces, some of which are used by commercial fishermen and other working boats. It super conveniently located, the dock is right in the heart of the town, and a quick walk to some great shops and restaurants. Really great resource for RI boaters. A+

First, Pirate's Cove provided an inaccurate estimate on an Awlgrip job despite me providing very…read moredetailed and specific job parameters resulting in an extra $1000 to complete the job, which I paid. Un-stepping and re-stepping the mast was offered in the original estimate however only a partial re-step actually was done resulting in the me having to complete the job. Many cotter pins were missing from the standing rig on the partial re-step which were discovered post shakedown sail, very dangerous. I ended up paying the entire bill to get my boat launched despite a verbal agreement with the owner, Brandon Kidd, on a reduction if I completed the varnish job on the transom, which I did over a month of work. I never received the discount. When asking for clarification and/or help I was met with surly, brusque and rude behavior from senior staff and the yard owner. Live and learn.

However, Mike is fastidious and this Brewer shows it off: clean bathrooms, well groomed landscaping, nice pool - and well-maintained non-skanky slips. Cove Haven is one of about 20 yacht yards under the Brewer brand from ME down through NY. Being a member at a Brewer marina there are some perks: a few nights for 'free' at other Brewers, discounted gas... What really makes Cove Haven is the people though - great management, friendly fellow Sperry-clad boat owners, and an overall calm that can only be achieved on the water.
