I am so happy we chose to come here to celebrate a birthday! It's the perfect place to go to to celebrate an occasion or a big girls night. Reservations are most definitely encouraged especially if you want to watch the show (make sure you get reservations for stage view). Since Bordel is technically a speakeasy, you'll find the hidden door right before you enter Mama Delia. Fair warning, it can be tricky to find because they hide it very well! Once you find the door you'll make your way upstairs and enter to get into the bar.The bar itself has a cool undercover speakeasy vibe with lots of jewel tones and velvet decor. The space isn't large in terms of width - it's actually more on the narrow side. There's a ton of seats that face the stage for the performances and then there's a whole bar in the back.  You will be charged a $10 fee to watch the show (we booked ahead and it's highly recommended). The show itself is AMAZING. We watched three burlesque performers that were incredible. The host was so fun and super interactive! He goes around and takes his time to congratulate + celebrate anyone that's there for a special occasion.  We loved their alcoholic coffee drink and the porron was so much fun!  I honestly would love to come back and enjoy another show.

Bordel is a really great spot for a date night or even a night with your besties just grabbing a drink and enjoying the shows! They have some really fancy cocktails. And amazing bartenders! They have burlesque shows that take place in the main area. You should definitely reserve those seats if you would like to watch it! It gets REALLY packed! But it's such a fun vibe. Pricing was as expected for a place like this. But my absolute fav thing about this spot is how hidden it is! Find the door :)

Such a fun speakeasy, located above Mama Delia. Their lemon drops are delicious, they add vanilla! Stay for the performances on weekend evenings, they are so fun (and sexy!). I've been to Bordel a few times with girlfriends and we always have the best time!

I went to Bordel for a Saturday performance, and boy oh boy what a treat. It's a speakeasy style place so it's hidden by a door covered in grass and then you walk up a steep narrow hall way with walls covered in grass and pin up girls . It was super cute. The performances were great , it was the hosts birthday so we got a rare performance from her. We also got a the first ever fire show. The reason it's 4 stars instead of 5 because the Gin fizz and old fashion drinks could use some work. The expresso martini was good though. I would highly recommend going there I'm looking forward to going again and trying their Spanish style menu.

Great little hideaway with amazing and unique cocktails! The place does get crowded, so either make a reservation ahead of time or get early to grab bar seat. Plus they have burlesque girl's performances - which is a good thing to know if you plan to come with your significant other

I love a good speakeasy discovery. Parking is ALWAYS horrible on the area so that was to be expected. The entry was right by the first entrance covered by artificial greeney with a small know. The vibe is dark and sexy. I loved it. 1030 live entertainment. I loved the idea of it all. I would definitely say the menu has very small selections so don't come hungry. Just tapas are available. Overpriced for sure. Especially the $15 fries that were definitely from a freezer bag and not seasoned at all. Drinks are one of the highlights. I live for a good Expresso Martini. Pat on the drinks!!!! There one small bathroom available near the front. If you're sitting in the back you'd have to get it to go near the front entrance to view. It's kinda tight to have to do that though. Our waitress was new,a month in, but she was good with explaining the menu items etc. That's additional outdoor seating if you go am the way up the stairs but it was closed when I went. I would've appreciated the view and to check it out. Bummer! The DJs stayed in a semi tech/house selection type of music. You're not likely to hear you're fav music selection but it was upbeat and warranted. I'd definitely come back if I'm feeling like a low key, cute, sexy vibe.

I visited last Friday night, which was the weekend before Christmas, as this is one of my co-worker's favorite cocktail bars/speakeasy's. The bar is upstairs through a separate entrance from Mama Delia's (food is also good). Me and my friend arrived around 7:30pm and the hostess asked if we wanted to pay a $10 cover for the 8pm Cabaret show, but we just wanted to go for drinks. There were plenty of booths available as it was the weekend before Christmas, but I can see it filling up pretty fast on any other Friday night. We arrived at the bar and there were some people there, but we were able to find two seats just fine. I took a look at the menu and I went with my go to cocktail, the Old Fashioned, as I am a huge bourbon fan. I was ok with the bourbon even though an Old Fashioned should be made with Rye Whiskey. The Old Fashioned was very good and they served it with a rock, which is always a must! My friend ordered the Lemon Drop and she said it was probably the best one that she has had in Chicago! I ordered a 2oz pour of Booker's Bourbon neat, which was $27. Not a bad price for an exceptional (easy to find) bourbon at 127 proof. They had a pretty good selection of bourbon with pretty good prices as well (unlike Delilah's and Longman & Eagle). Prices were very good especially with how good the cocktails were at $16/cocktail. It beats $18/cocktail for Evan Williams in the West Loop!!! The bartenders were friendly and always filling up the water cups. Christiana, who formerly worked at the Aviary, was great! She definitely taught us a few things about cocktails and mixology, which was pretty neat. Overall, Bordel is a very good cocktail bar in Wicker Park. It definitely beats the Machine and the cocktails are better crafted than the Revel Room. I haven't been to the Violet Hour, probably will never go, even though I near the neighborhood, but I Can see Bordel giving it a run for it's money. Definitely give Bordel a try!

Yes please! This place is a treat! Went for my friends bachelorette and we had a blast. We went on a Thursday and it was awesome! Great seats and the show was so fun! I highly recommend

Came on a Thursday night for the burlesque show. You can reserve a table online through Resy. The information listed for the Speakeasy is all wrong! The show is $15 per person and as others have mentioned you can only see the show if your table is in the "stage area" so keep that in mind when you book. The show is a rip off, only 30 minutes and was the strangest burlesque show I have ever been to. They ask for tips through venmo or cash which is fine, but when I got my check for the drinks and apps I ordered they expect you to tip 20% on the tickets for the "burlesque show." Come have a drink at the bar if that, but dont bother going to the burlesque show not worth the price when the show is 30 minutes long and the business wants tips on your check for the show and through venmo and cash. Bacon wrapped dates had the strangest flavor and we couldn't even finish them. Drinks were good and had unique flavors. Cute environment but skip the shows.

We came here on a Thursday night and were seated in a booth in the back. Live music in the front, very romantic and dim lit. The booths and bar in the back were more comfortable as we could talk and hangout versus the front was very silent and listening to the music. There is I believe only one unisex bathroom. A fun experience.

While it's very difficult to get a reservation at Bordel, we were lucky enough to get a table here on a Friday night. This places gave us a true speakeasy experience, since it took us a while to find the entrance, haha. The vibe is amazing! I felt like I was back in the prohibition era. The service was fast! The place was packed and I could tell that everyone was having a great time! A person who we taught was a customer randomly broke out into a flamenco. We later realized that he was actually a performer! He was really engaging and even involved the crowd into dancing with him. I didn't try any food so I can't really comment on that but the cocktails were great!

What's the difference between stage view and stage table reservations? Would I be able to see the show with a stage table?

I literally signed on here to find the answer to this same question. Surprised no one has answered yet....

Are the reservations on resy scheduled by show times?

No! We were hoping that they were - our reservation was at 11:15pm on a Saturday, and apparently there were no more Burlesque shows for the night. I wasn't able to get/find a schedule.

    When does entertainment start?

Thank you for your inquiry! Vaudeville is every Thursday with performances at 8:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.—and pop-up performances at 11:30 p.m. We hope to see you soon.

Is there an elevator in the building to get upstairs?

    No there is only stairs.

Open for just drinks & can we just walk in?

Yep, you can go there for just drinks, I think it's with reservations only! They are pretty booked out due to Covid restrictions. If you want to see the show you will have to pay the cover, if not you will hear the action but no way to see it due to… Read more

Does anyone know if you can order food on Saturday night or is it only a drink menu? Thanks!

You can from mama Delia (below).

What time do the burlesque shows start on friday?

8:30pm & 10:30pm and they last about a half hour.

How do you find out what nights are burlesque?

I think their website says it, but I went there on a Thursday night and was able to hear the show since we didn't know we would not be able to see the show if we didn't pay the cover, my bad!

What happens on Saturday's? Is there still a show?

Nope! We walked in at 9 on a Saturday and there was no show. Just a DJ. We didn't even stay, we went downstairs insteadto have dinner.

It is definitely unique, creative, and a massive differentiator from any other cocktail bar I've been to. Now, let's talk cocktails! The creativity of the interior extends into the menu. Unlike some places that just make variations of existing classics (except for items specifically so named, like the Old Fashioned or Espresso Martini), all of their cocktails are unique and interesting. Time for a punch card? I ordered the Maximillian the Imposter. While I'm not typically a fan of banana (except for banana bread), I thought I'd step out of my comfort zone, and I wanted to try something 'flaming'. Flaming it was! The preparation of the drink involved a surprising amount of fire. I initially thought this was just for show, but no, this translated into a noticeable smoky flavor. Beyond that, the drink was strong, not overly sweet, and an all-around delight. There was one bartender on the night I was here, and while it was busy, I was still able to get my drink in a reasonable amount of time. I also feel as though they have reasonable prices, especially considering the quality and the market rates. King of Cups gets busy, and for good reason: they are an all-around phenomenal place, from the drinks to the vibe, and everything in between. If you're someone who likes a seat rather than fighting through a crowd, get a reservation! See you there!

A guitarist sits somewhere against a brick wall and plays music lightly but energetically. Service is friendly from start to finish and smiles are on everyone's faces. The menu is pretty easy to understand. You can get a three-course meal, or you can get each entree à la carte. You have two fondue candles in front of you, one for the cheese and dessert, and the other for the oil. We chose the three-course meal, and it was delightful. We started with the cheese appetizer. You get a basket of bread and fruit and we chose the seasonal cheese to dip. The oil for our meat was then left to heat, and we received a massive platter of veggies and meats for our main course. We chose the option for all selections of meat and seafood. After trying all the meats, I would opt for the lobster and shrimp. You can also substitute the oil for a broth. I would like to try the broth for next time. In one of the shakers, Gejas makes their own meat spice mix. It's recommended to put on the meats and even the desserts. It's a mix of tangy and savory and was a great compliment to the meal. We then chose the seasonal dessert, a white chocolate with vanilla cookies. Fruit, marshmallows, and churros to dip. We were so full by the time dessert came, but we enjoyed a few bites and took it home. The three-course meal, with five types of meat, came with about 10 pieces of meat. It doesn't look like a lot of food, but it truly is, with the apps, veggies, etc, your stomach will be full when you walk out of here. They also start the entire course with a mixed salad (so technically it's a four-course meal). It was very fairly priced, as well. Initially looking at the prices, you may think it's expensive, but it truly is a value with the amount of food they serve. This was rated as most romatic restaurant in Chicago. Its ambiance gives you the romantic feel, the guitarist adds to the atmosphere, and the staff is professional and friendly. This really was a great place and we enjoyed our time and meal.

Not a problem since I was dining with my husband, but I would have preferred my own salad if I was with a less familiar party. The silverware and dishes were works of art in and of themselves, but our table was scratched up considerably. My dessert was presented very creatively - although my husband's was much more straightforward. Dessert was an optional add-in, so a separate bill was brought out for this at the end. My husband carelessly left a tip on top of the hefty service charge they apply by default, but I didn't realize until after the fact since I'd gone to the restroom.

Our server informed us that normally the whole table had to order off of the RW menu if one person does, but said she would check with the kitchen since this was the last day of RW. Luckily, we were able to proceed with ordering from different menu's. FOOD I ordered a raspberry Cosmopolitan. I'm a Riesling/Moscato girlie, but I tasted the Riesling and didn't like it. RW dinner was priced at $60. I ordered: First Course: Caesar Salad (Typical salad, was good) Second Course: Mussels (Tasted fine, came with a baguette) Third Course: Short Rib (Could've been slightly more tender and better seasoned. I've definitely had better. Wouldn't order again.) Fourth Course: Orange Ricotta Donuts (Donuts were very good. Three were served, a few more would have been more filling.) My friend ordered a glass of Pinot Noir and: Truffle Fries (Fries were very tasty. I would order again if I went back.) Beef Wellington (The breading was buttery and very good. The beef could've been more seasoned. I wouldn't order.) Key Lime Pie (Was not sweet and had no taste. When our server came back and saw it was uneaten, she offered to take it off the bill. It should be removed from the menu altogether.) The busboys and server were very attentive. Our water glasses were always filled. OVERALL The atmosphere was nice, our server was great. Of all the food we ordered, I would order the truffle fries and Cosmopolitan again. I did leave full and did take my leftover Short Rib to go. Main dishes needed more seasoning. I would dine here again and try a different menu (brunch/lunch), or Happy Hour if they offer it.
