I had an awesome time during my weekend stay in the summer.
Before we checked in at the main resort, we were greeted with some delicious minty drinks. Check in time was in the afternoon, but we were allowed to leave our luggage there so that we could explore the island before then.
My room was located at the beach front. I had to check in there, not at the main resort. You get your own keys (front and balcony). Not keycards like at the main resort. As soon as you leave the building, your feet are on sand. Theres just so much going on around there: music, food, shops. Had everything I needed. If that was an apartment, I would love to stay there forever because that was the best place to be.
The room and bathroom were clean and spacious. Theres a TV and wifi for use. Bed was comfortable. There is a fee if you get the bed sheets/pillows dirty from a henna tattoo. Theres a message on the desk letting you know ahead of time. AC in the room worked without issue. The balcony/veranda is a bit small/narrow. The lock was broken, which was very concerning. I didn't want my stuff to get stolen. The staff called up a repairman to fix it, but it just ended up breaking again. You do have a view of the sea, but there are alot of trees that do get in the way it. Of course, if you wanted to look at the sea, you could just walk right down to the private beach up front. The balcony is good to have if you're just relaxing, eating, or just watching people walk by, especially the night life when you feel that your day is done. The music outside may or not bother you when you go to bed. I personally preferred the sound of music and noise of people walking by.
The staff was just wonderful. Not just at the desk (beach front and main building), but also the employees working in the bistro below and those that worked the private beach. There was this one time when a pretty girl came up to drop off some free drinks that I had earlier before check in. Anything I needed, the front desk was just outside my door where there was always someone there to greet and assist you.
Right under the room is the Boracay Haven Bistro. Great food, but I'll leave that for another review. There is also a tattoo/henna shop downstairs. I got a tattoo there. Will save that for another review as well.
During my stay, you are allowed to place an order for two breakfast items and two drinks for the next morning at no additional cost. You're also able to choose when you want the food to be delivered. Although it was never on the time I specified, I wasn't bothered by it. Great food, free, delivered, how can you complain about that? Since I was staying at the beach front, I was not allowed to have breakfast buffet, which I did not care about because the food from the bistro was so much better and was also a convenience.
My family stayed at the main Resort, which was a couple minutes walk away from my room and the beach. I was allowed to use the pool there, but why use a pool when I had an entire ocean to swim in? The staff there was great as well.
I had such a great time there that I want to go back as soon as possible. When I do go back there one day, which I will, theres only one place I would stay: Boracay Haven Resort. read more
