Fortunately London is in a First World Country where I can still get my mandatory metrosexual needs. Tbh I never heard about Boots until the English gal at the theatre told me about... Boots is the British version of CVS/Walgreens in America. It's the largest pharmaceutical chain in the UK boosting about 2,500 locations in the UK and elsewhere. Boots dates back to 1849 starting as an herbal medicine shop in Nottingham. The location I visited was located on Oxford Street in Mayfair, London. I walked over... "But darling, just kiss me slow, your heart is all I own And in your eyes you're holding mine..." Entering Boots was so familiar. The security up front, cashiers to the side. The pharmacy in the back. I came specifically for - eye contacts solution. Boots had what I needed and more. I was now in search of small scissors that I could transport on a plane. Then I turned and she... The young lady, with shades of Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, turned to me and asked if I needed help. I told her what I needed and she walked me over to each spot. Scissors, tweezers, deodorant, toothpaste, juicy apple shampoo, and even shortbread fingers! All the while I'm admiring how gorgeous this Boots gal is. Hmm I wonder was she wearing equestrian boots? Did she ride a horse? Would she go out with me to a romantic picnic on the English country side? Barefoot on the glass. Hmm... In the end, Boots had everything I was looking for, sans the Lysol wipes. I did get a generic version at Tesco. Boots, as far as I know had nothing to do with equestrian boots or the like, instead it's named after the founder with a surname of Boot. I admit my fantasies got the best of me oh my! The English gal, the Pharmacy gal, not the theatre gal, who helped me was certainly gorgeous and Brit proper. I hope one day to have kids with her, maybe? This is probably the larger Boots on Oxford Street, it shouldn't be confused however with the smaller branch inside West One Shopping Centre, which is pretty easy to do considering Boots have so many branches on London's flagship and main shopping street. This store opened in 2005, and is Boots' flagship store, I do like the history of the store they have in a wall with photos of the history of the company, Boots and its' other stores on the street and foundation which is pretty cool, although this is something many flagship stores do it is something I like. The basement level has the food and drinks section, for me, this is a waste and should always be on the first floor. Why? People want a grab and go beverage or lunch without messing around, trying to find an escalator or elevator which I had to do, and with only one lift in the store which was rather slow and making strange noises, it wasn't the most pleasant experiences one would associate with a flagship store. The selection of to go food and beverages were surprisingly poor and overpriced, and lacked to even a smaller Boots store, for a flagship store this is far from what one would expect. The staff seemed a little rude and seemed to get in the way more than they did help and I also didn't like the fact that they were constantly announcing a special promotion at the front of the store every two minutes, it was frankly a tacky and repetitive mess. Store size and selection of some items is good and I do like the history of the Boots brand set out in an interactive, colourful and dynamic way however the selection and location of beverages and snacks, issues with the staff, the store feeling tacky, and the basement perhaps needing some TLC as it didn't feel as modern as the rest of the store, and had awful mobile signal and lifts. 2* read more

I liked that this was anchored in a mall above the Bond tube station. You can get pretty much anything here - from toiletries to water and snacks. I had to come here in a panic because my converter and my hair iron weren't cooperating so I bought a cheap UK one that I can use in the future. This location is very convenient and I'm glad that I was able to get in and out quickly. read more

This posting is more of a heads up rather than a review. This Boots is HUGE. HUGE!!!!! I say...do you hear me. It expands over 4 vast floors (damn for all I know there may be five - I darn't go that high as I am scared of heights). Anyway it is a great one stop shop for anything pharmacological (well at least the legal stuff - you will be hard pressed to get anything dodgy from this place): - Basement -toiletries and sandwiches (so you can look good and not be hungry); - Ground Floor - perfume and make-up (all the things that make the girls glitzy and the boys smell good); - First Floor is first aid/ vitamins/ prescriptions, vitamins and vaccinations. They also have an opticians too. (Basically this is your emergency stop when you start to fall apart); and - Second Floor - this used to be the baby section but it keeps rotating to other stuff...like christmassy decorations....just to keep people with buggies guessing. read more

I had a severe allergic reaction. My face was huge I could barely speak because my tongue was swollen. I felt my throat tightening and I did my best to BEG the lady who was opening the store for antihistamines. The lady told me they opened in 15 minutes so I should come back then for antihistamines ... I ended up in hospital. I don't understand how any human could be that heartless. But God bless you. Maybe she wasn't thinking straight. Hopefully this review will allow them to change their policies regarding extenuating circumstances. read more

One of the largest Boots in town. You would probably find most of the things you want. It has 3 levels and the ground floor is dedicated to the popular cosmetic brands. It can be very busy so just make sure to know what you want and to not get overwhelmed with the choice. The staff there is ready to help and to direct you if you need. read more

Can't believing I am reviewing the ubiquitous high street stalwart that is Boots the Chemist. But I am. So just deal with it ok. Stop judging me. Can I stop judging me too? Ok enough with the judgey-ness. The point of this review is to tell you all, nay warn you all.... DON'T GET YOUR PRESCRIPTIONS FULFILLED FROM HERE!! AWOOGA! PURPLE ALERT! Basically it will take 30 x longer here than if you go to one of the many many other smaller branches or any other pharmacy with your green slips. Even the Boots on Regents Street takes far less time. The wait here to hand your form is unbelievably slow and painful - and then the wait to collect your prescriptions is equally nail bitingly frustrating... in most other Boots it takes 5-10 minutes but not here. I am not sure why Boots haven't put more staff on the pharmacy section, given the higher footfull in this store. But they haven't, so deal with it Zara L. Or go somewhere else. But on the other hand, there are 3 floors of toiletries, make up, cold remedies and other random things you didn't realise you needed to make you more beautiful, cleaner, healthier and bionic to look at whilst you wait, so it's actually a bit useful after all. read more

Loads of baby supplies compared to my local boots. Really wish the baby supplies were on the ground floor, as the lift is small and only accommodates two prams. They should make it easy on moms and put all of our things on the ground floor! This boots even has baby clothes which I haven't seen at any others I've been to. read more

A huuuuugggggee boots. One of the largest in central London. It has 3 floors of possibly everything you need and didn't know you needed. Beware you can get lost walking around the store, however if you can find one of the staff they will kindly lead you in the right direction. As it is on Oxford Street and near Bond Street tube it can be a tad busy at certain times so plan your visit carefully (try not to go during lunch/just after work/weekend. There are self check out lines as well as staff assisted check out lines. So be warned you will find plenty of things to purchase here if you are happy with crowds and sometimes queues to check out. read more

WOW! This place is huge! Spanning several floors, cosmetics is all of the main floor, soap and shampoo and fun body stuff is all of the lower floor and other floors are just filled with stuff. Great to shop in and fits in perfectly in the whole row of department stores as a department store in its own right. Fantastic! read more

I love this huge store. It's size means that you can buy pretty much anything (pharmacy related, obviously) at any time of year, so you can get you sunglasses and sunblock in December if you're off ski-ing, it can sometimes be tricky to find such things mid-winter. They also have a well stocked floor of body products, including clothes, toys and nursery equipment on the top floor. From September onwards though that entire floor is pretty much dedicated to Christmas gifts and you can find a gift for just about anybody from the selection. On the ground floor there is perfume and a whole range of beauty counters including Clinique, Clarins and Lancome. read more
