This is a huge branch of Boots situated right next to Kensington High Street Underground station. It has several entrances, including one directly adjacent to the station. The entrance from Kensington High Street is deceptively small, giving no hint of what lies behind. The main entrance from Kensignton High Street takes through an extensive beauty section, with individual counters staffed by the various cosmetics houses, such as Clarins, Yves St Laurent, and so on. Apart from the slightly harsh lighting, this feels more like a department store than a chemists, and I suppose that is the ambience they are hoping to create. Beyond is the standard type of Boots store you would expect, selling a wide range of toiletries and pharmaceutical products, set over two floors. Being such a large branch, the range is very extensive. There is also a small food section selling drinks, snacks and sandwiches, although they have to compete with the Pret-a-Manger just by the exit. They are also have a wider range of electricals - kitchen gadgets, cameras and grooming applicances - than your average Boots. The store has an in-house opticians, and offers a range of health services, such as screening and testing for chlamydia, weight loss and hair loss programmes and treatments, and a 'flu vaccination service. I've always found staff to be helpful, especially on the pharmacy, though the store can't help but feel rather impersonal overall. But it's a useful place to know about, given the location. read more

Photo-printer doesn't work :( Boots takes orders and gets stuck on processing without any notice. Not to mention all this "1hr photos" thing is indeed "min. 2hr-in-selected-shops-lucky-w/printer-working&for double-price". NEVER EVER GET PHOTOS DEVELOPED HERE not only did they lie about how soon they would be ready ( I was told 5 days max and it wasn't ready) they also lost my prints. I sent in 3 rolls of film, one was ready after 6 days however I had to wait an hour and a half whilst they tried to find it and I asked them to call when the others where ready. They did not call so I went in after 2 weeks and found one set where ready and the other set where developed completely blank. Nothing was wrong with my camera though they tried to tell me it was an issue on my end and not theirs. if you want your special memories lost or developed blank then this is the place! read more

Since the closure of Barkers, the cosmetic department here has really come into its own and largely filled the gap. Its glitziness gives it the feel of an up-market department store far more than a high street chemist. Beauty and grooming aficionados won't be disappointed. Most of the big names (along with some quirkier brands) have a high profile presence here. Counters are generously-sized and inviting; staff are approachable, rather than off-puttingly over made-up. The Chanel 'ambassador' was especially helpful; a real pleasure to talk with and happy to provide try-before-you-buy samples. If health is higher on your concern list, this giant branch has comprehensive preventative options, as well as remedies and advice (mainstream and complementary) for more pressing ailments. read more

This Boots has everything you'll need a more and most importantly, it is situated right next to the tube, making it easy to grab what you need and go. Unlike other high street stores which have smaller premesis, this Boots has a large presence containing everything you'll need from cosmetics through eyecare to everyday vitamins. At the holiday season this shop was a lifesaver for me as it stocked one of the largest varities of gifts I had seen at any Boots. The staff aren't always friendly and the cosmetics counter staff can be slightly off but given they are likely rushed off their feet most days, you can understand it. Boots in Kensington is arranged over two floors replete with pharmacy and opticians. A few years ago, the store was extended in order to house a cosmetics section selling the top end brands such as Chanel, Lancome, Dior etc. This is just as well because there are no longer any department stores in Kensington and this is the only place offering a proper cosmetics department. A bonus is that shopping in Boots means you receive advantage points (if you have a card). Upstairs there is a Childrens/Baby department selling everyday essentials such as nappies and bathing products to clothes. Also there is an opticians. read more

Boots is yet another of the large stores on Kensington High Street offering a cosmetics counter, pharmacy, photo lab and all the other things you would expect to find in Boots. There are two floors with the second floor currently almost full of the 3 for 2 Christmas gifts on offer as well as the opticians and photo lab which are always up there. On the ground floor there are a few fridges for the sandwiches, wraps and salads they offer. This enables the office workers from the area to get a good meal deal from there during their lunch hour as these are great value for money. read more

this location always seems to be busy given the very convenient location...next to the kensington high street tube station and also right across from where i was staying. nice variety of items available...they carry their own brand in addition to other high end department store brands. you can find anything from saline solution to batteries, and even clothes. target in the U.S. is starting to carry boots label items...especially like the hand salve... read more

I have a strange feeling I look like the biggest fool running around Boots like a little kid in a candy store after she's told she can fill a basket with whatever she wants. While that scenario probably never happens to anyone outside of a dream, I feel like a kid in a candy store when I'm in a London Boots pharmacy. There's something about the unique cosmetic brands (such as Bourgeois blushers, eye shadows and mascaras) that I can't find in the States, yet is so pedestrian here, that has me delighted and grabbing everything imaginable in sight. From the Boots brand that's marvelous, I could spend hours and a small fortune here, buying all kinds of goodies for myself, family and friends. read more

I am a local resident who regularly collects prescriptions & have always been pleased with the level of service at the pharmacy. However, about six months ago the service deteriorated to the point where I find dealing with the pharmacy a hassle and stressful. Firstly, it is impossible to call the pharmacy. The phone will ring about 40 times and then I get cut off. This never used to be the case. I complained about this to their pharmacist, Kirran, who curtly replied that they are "just really busy". But the real problem is with the prescription service. Typically, I would receive a call from the pharmacy informing me to pick up my prescriptions from the store. This was a great arrangement that suited me. But then the calls stopped, and I ran out of my contraceptive pill. I went in store where they admitted they were having trouble getting the prescription from my GP, but had failed to tell me. The pharmacist promised to call my surgery and, in the meantime, gave me some emergency contraception. The emergency contraception ran out two months later, but I still hadn't received my call from Boots to pick up my prescription. After a heated conversation (after many rings!) with Kirran the pharmacist and Alexa the assistant manager, I found out that they had yet to get the prescription from the GP. When I asked why they hadn't informed me earlier so I could at least be prepared for having no contraception and resolve the issue myself, they had the audacity to tell me that they didn't have my phone number. I told them this was preposterous as Boots had been calling me for months regarding my prescriptions. Eventually, after quizzing Alexa I found out that the problem lay with Boots. They had a computer glitch and lost a lot of customer data. Why they couldn't have admitted that in the first place, instead of simply trying to fob me off, is beyond me! It is simply rude to tell a customer that you don't have their information, and not back it up with an explanation. I appreciate that good customer service doesn't come naturally to some people, but that is what Boots training is for. I should know, I used to work in a Boots pharmacy! Furthermore, one of their healthcare assistants offered me the flu jab. I asked him repeatedly if it was free (I can get it free from my GP anyway but there's a bit of a wait for an appt), which he insisted it was, so I booked an appointment. I later found it out wasn't free at all! This reflects poor staff training. It appears to me that Boots has hired new pharmacy staff in the past year who are incompetent, rude and unwilling to listen to customer concerns. It's a shame, as the service used to be impeccable. The service elsewhere in the store is still good, but the pharmacy clearly has some inept members of staff. Perhaps it needs a few older staff members who have more experience and can train up the younger staff. read more

There is plenty of make up with brands which you don not normally expect in Boots such as Benefit, decent brands. This is my favourite boots in london.The shop was big and had two floors.It had many cosmetic counter and also had pharmacy and optician.I like the optician here a lot.Another benefit with the shop was the extra offer Kiosk.You could get some good offers from there with you boots card.The staff here was also really nice and helpful. read more

Pharmacy always, no matter what, quote 15 to 20 minutes to deal with prescriptions. Customer service can be quite oblique and rude too. The last few times I have opted to wait, the very last time after 20 minutes they still hadn't dealt with it - 3 girls behind and only me and one person waiting. I recently opted to walk out after the last visit, after taking my paperwork they checked the medicine was on the shelf and then quoted 20 minutes, I mean it would have taken her 2 minutes to deal with it then and there and pop it in a bag. This was the manager/head too. Terrible service and they obviously need to review their system if they need 20 minutes for each walk up prescription. Go elsewhere. read more

Big store with big offers and ready to help staff, even when busy!

Sorry to say this Boots pharmacy is one of the worst in London. Do NOT give them a repeat prescription, I've been going in there almost daily for 7 weeks now to get my prescription which should be refilled monthly, and get a different excuse each time. The last time I went it they told me they were re-ordering all together and I still have yet to hear anything. These problems have not existed with the other boots I've done repeats at. Otherwise as far as shopping and cosmetics, this boots has it all even photo services and higher end cosmetics, and all of the staff on the floor are very helpful. The pharmacy staff are kind as well, but I think overworked and too busy to care about the customers sadly. read more
