I love a good browse in Boots, as a complete makeup and beauty junkie I spend far too much time…read morethere! This one has everything you could ever need from a pharmacy. It has a large selection of medicine, baby things, a photo printing section, makeup from 'drugstore' cheaper brands to high end makeup counter brands, every toiletry under the sun, a good food selection - as far as a meal deal for a quick lunch you can't beat a Boots one for £3.29! I'm sure I've missed something out but you get the jist. I'm not sure if deals (bogof etc.) vary depending on location? I'm sure they do so if so, this one usually has a good selection of deals on shampoos, deodorant etc. on the go. This will seem very nitpicky but I have given this branch 4 instead of 5 stars as I almost find it a little too big. I love it for a browse but to pop in for cotton pads it's a bit much.

Ever since I arrived in Glasgow, I've been on a quest to purchase a new tongue scraper. I've popped into every Boots and SuperDrugs I've come across and none have had one. This Boots not only had what I was looking for, it also had multiple varieties of tongue scrapers, some of which I'd never even seen before. These self-checkouts (that actually work, unlike the ones you find in the US) are starting to grow on me. Not that I'm anti-social, but not having to interact with a cashier could come in handy...

What, where, when, who, w....how?…read more Ah well its here now, i may as well review the ass out of it.....serves it right for being in the way of this yelping juggernaut on its express route straight from hell with a rocket up its ass!!!!!......aye well, back to reality it is. So yes, an independent toiletries, cosmetics type place. It pretty much sells the same kind of gear you find in the likes o semi chem and those other places that deal only in the stuff you find in your bathroom. This one surprised me though as its clean, bright, spacious and doesnt have the same " rats in a cage feel" as those other joints. With good deals on all the stuff you would expect in addition to lower prices on name brands than you'll find in the nearby supermarkets, this is one worth dropping in to stock up on all that type of gear....ok its not funky, groovy or hep (does anyone outside the 1970's American jazz scene actually use the term hep??) but hey, we all have to be sensible grown ups sometimes!

Forget Boots and Tesco, here you can buy everything you could possibly require to preen and pamper yourself into a delicious-smelling being. They have most of your usual brands for lower prices. The selections are stacked to the ceiling and organised into every section you can think of. Shampoos, conditioners, leave-in conditioners, hairspray, shaving creams, moisturisers, you name it. They also sell travel sizes and accessories like hair clips and brushes. It's also the best place to stock up on razors, and they sell the odd bottle of perfume. Smashing!

This one has a huge perfume section when you first walk in the Buchanan Street entrance which can be a bit intimidating with folk lunging in your face to spray you with eau de Jordans thigh or whatever it is. What you are left with, is a well stocked and brightly lit shop which is under-represented in terms of floor staff. I did have at least once great customer service experience in here when I was hunting down a mirror that my Mum wanted that magnified so deep into your face you could see blemishes that didn't even exist yet. It's an evil mirror. I would never have found it without their help though. I dive in often enough to use their photo-machine deelies. Quieter than the one in Buchanan Galleries, and that is fine by me.

Ah Boots. Everybody loves Boots, right? And this one is probably not an exception. If it's a little…read morestrange to have a Boots store on the part of Sauchiehall Street that is almost exclusively populated with clubs and restaurants - this Boots doesn't show it. Instead it keeps on providing it's normal service of branded make up, shampoos and other bath related products without a sound. This place also has quite a good food section (I suppose it must do quite a good trade with the staff of the many nearby offices) - although it's nowhere near as big as the food sections in the bigger boots stores (i.e. the one at the other end of Sauchiehall Street). It also has a fairly sizable chemist, probably with a much smaller waiting time than the other chemists in the city centre. Conclusion - this place is really useful if you're in the area and need to pop in for something to eat and a couple of bits and pieces. But if you're wanting to do a proper Boots shop you should probably just go along to one of the bigger Boots stores which are ten minutes down the road.

Inside you will find a wide range of beauty products such as shampoo, body wash, moisturiser, etc. They certainly have a good selection of brands - including some salon brands such as John Frieda - which means that you're likely to find exactly what it is that you're looking for. Also well stocked is Semi-Chem's perfume counter. This is located behind the cash desk though, which makes it a little difficult to browse through. Very convenient, though, if you know exactly what it is that you want. I was a little disappointed to see the range of cosmetics, as it's quite limited, and it's unlikely that you'd find anything in particular. They have quite a lot of Rimmel products - but that's about the best that you could hope for. All in all, Semi-Chem is a nice enough shop - but I did find it quite crowded. I also thought that it wasn't really any cheaper than Boots - and of course it doesn't have the added bonus of being able to earn advantage points on your purchases....

I'm in the habit of still going though, and particularly this one because it's close to where I normally kick around. It's pretty small but with a good selection of toiletries at good prices including regular good promos on different products. I usually go for stuff for my hair, mixing and matching between cheap stuff in here and dear stuff from Lush (down the road) depending on much I'm trying to impress Joe and Josephine Public. They also do a humble selection of food in here, like multipack bags of Hula Hoops and such which, again, are pretty cheap. A decent shop to pick up some toiletries towards the end of the month if your wallet is looking a bit skinny.
