First, there's a new location. I turned it in to Yelp. Bootlegger's is smack dab in the middle of everything. Start with the front patio, so you can people watch. Inside dining has a medium amount of tables with great air conditioning. The riverside patio has a gorgeous view of the river. The place to be! Time to eat? Pizza, wings, and sandwiches. All at tourist prices. We did the Loaded Italian sandwich and the Turkey Bacon Ranch sandwich. I must admit, both were great! The bar is probably the most popular section so come have a drink! Staff was rude, flies everywhere. I stood at the counter, patiently waiting to order, and a young lady finally walks up to take our order. No "hello", no welcome, no "what can I get you". She just walked up and stared. It was the most awkward social interaction I've had in this town. After receiving our food, nobody checked in with us, asked how anything was, offered any continued service. Staff disappeared for several minutes, had to ask the bartender for a to go box, and the young lady held it out with saying anything. No response to my thank you's, nothing. Very strange. ZERO STARS. This establishment has great potential if those in charge ran it properly. I understand that resort town food and beverage establishments can lack certain refinement as their motivation to do better may be associated to a higher percentage of transient customers. I only ordered a cocktail and no food. You can't mess up a vodka and soda water with lime and my wife took only water. We arrived about 90-minutes prior to closing on a Sunday late afternoon and departed at 6:05PM. My experience and problems with Bootlegger's were about cleanliness and subsequently the person who explained she oversaw its operation. Simply, the bathroom was disgusting. It looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. After use, I approached our bartender and asked who was in charge and she said it was herself. I stated my case, and she said a cleaning crew had cleaned it the night prior. She then explained that two staff had called off due to personal matters and they were stretched thin. While I am a compassionate person such excuses in f&b are irrelevant to basic restaurant operation. I won't say much about her change of attitude to indignation, which I recognized and thusly tried to right the situation with an apology in that I was not trying to offend only give constructive criticism. During our seating, she rarely moved out from behind the bar and spend much time on her cell. This before and after our conversation. When we arrived, she had three customers, two of whom departed shortly after our arrival. A couple more showed but only ordering beverages. From our perspective it was quite slow. My wife has worked in f&b for 25-years. Sadly, she explains such disinterest in what it takes to be fully committed to the responsibilities of running an f&b establishment is more the rule than exception. If you are short staffed, you must learn how to delegate or get off your ars and do the dirty work yourself. Excuses just don't cut it. If I was a mystery shopper I would recommend, she be fired immediately. read more

The pizza here is surprisingly delicious! When we got our pie, we weren't overly optimistic based on the looks alone, however, our concerns were thankfully unfounded. It looks like a frozen pizza from a box but tastes nothing like that- it's great! They are quite generous with the cheese, which was good quality and salty - yum! The sauce is nice, not too sweet, and had a lovely red wine/vinegar finish to it, but not overpowering. Crust was fine- not quite thin but too thin to be a pan style. We got a half and half pizza - my side was pepperoni and jalapenos, his was Hawaiian. I loved that they used fresh jalapenos with the pepperoni (which was just ok). My date loved the Hawaiian, liked the quality of the ham especially and liked that they added onions to their version. The beer selection was fine and they had fountain sodas. Maybe wine? I saw that their wings appeared to be very popular but we didn't try them on this visit. Ambiance is great- watching the crowd walk by on a busy Saturday afternoon from their patio made for some great people watching. They appeared to be understaffed but the cashier was friendly and working hard and we didn't wait too long for our food. This place looks like it will be an overpriced tourist trap place from outside, but it's really not! Highly recommend for good eats at a fair price and a fun experience! read more

I have eaten at this location two out of the three times that I visited Medicine Park. They have subs and pizza along with drinks. Simple set up. You can sit outside under the fans or inside. Last time I was there they did have some AC this time not so much. But the sandwiches are just really good. I will definitely go again the next time I'm there. Your order is placed at the counter. They will call your name and can also send you a text when your order is ready for pick up. The only thing I would suggest is maintaining the bathroom. The women's was locked the entire time that we were there. And also, it just needed some extra cleaning. There weren't enough napkins and it just seemed like we had just come after a major rush, except there wasn't one. Didn't affect the taste of the food though! So four stars. read more

They had no BBQ items.. Got the Italian sandwich and it tasted good but the quality of the food was not what i was expecting. This place was VERY disappointing. The food was not good and WAY over priced. $9 for a Totinos pizza and it was burnt on the bottom. The pork was "out of season". Wait? What? There is a season for pork?? The Italian sandwich did not have everything on it that the menu said, so that was weird. They want you to give them your phone number and are unable to serve you without it. Overall a very frustrating and bad experience. I usually only write reviews on places I like but this was so bad I thought others should know before spending their hard earned money! Food was mediocre at best. Let's just say box pizza is better tasting with more flavor than at Bootleggers. Pizza had no sauce and was extremely bland even with the toppings. The wings I asked for crispy because I hate chicken with under fat and they didn't deliver. Chicken wasn't crispy at all which probably has a lot to do with the way it's prepared, they use a counter oven to cook the wings. The sauce was decent but not decent enough for me to reorder or want to come back. This was the biggest waste of $45 I might have ever experienced. Both the mozzarella sticks and the fries were severely undercooked, the sandwiches were dry and flavorless, and the food took 45 minutes to get to us. Went to get a drink, and the bartender was scooping ice for drinks with a glass cup. Great backporch, but that's about all that was enjoyable about the experience. read more

Being from NJ , I'm used to NY type of pizza. I won't say the pizza here is bad, it's just ok. Only 1 piece of pepperoni on each slice and the cheese used isn't the fresh mozzarella I'm used to. We had the Loaded Italian and the Turkey Bacon Ranch subs. I only eat hot subs and they make excellent subs. Bread was soft yet grilled perfectly, turkey and bacon were crispy from the grill. Cheese was melted and just enough ranch to let you know it's there but not too much. Husbands Italian had quality meat, cheese was melty and nice chewy bread. The staff was very pleasant and up beat. However, the food has a lot to be desired. We stopped in just for a little snack and ordered the garlic parmesan wings and mozzarella sticks. The wings were over $11 for six. The wings were just disgusting because they are oven baked and not for very long. The sauce was really good but all it did was try to hide the slime of the wings. The mozzarella sticks weren't good either. I could get better mozzarella sticks from Sam's and through them in the air fryer and they would've tasted better. The trash cans were overflowing all over the restaurant. I would give it one star but the staff was great and the balcony seating outside overlooking the river was enjoyable. We stopped in on a Sunday after hiking all day. They were less than an hour from closing and still served us with a smile! We had the Chicken Bacon Ranch and the Meat pizza. Both had a great smokey flavor. Breadsticks are stuffed with cheese and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Even if the food wasn't good, the staff was very friendly and helpful! The first time I visited it was opening weekend and the wait time was rough. HOWEVER, the Bootlegger Special sandwich was so amazing that I gave it another try today, and it did not disappoint.
