I think Bill Bradley does a good job. I've called them at least 3 times over the years. They give…read moretime frames that they always seem to make. They come on weekends when reaching other plumbers seems to be a chore. They flat rate price their jobs (which probably leads to paying more than you would have to otherwise) and get the jobs done fast. I'm not sure, but they may be the only plumbers around that offer the "water jet" service.. Its a water propelled hose, powered by an engine in the back of a van. Its expense. But it has the ability to fix some problems that using an auger doesnt seem to solve. For instance, a clog in the kitchen drain so bad that you can push your auger through it, but it will close right back down. So, their convenient, get the job done, have the tools to get it done, and they make their time frames. The 3 our of 5 stars is because they are expense. I'm sure that I could get more for less from others, but I know them. And 3 out of 5 aint bad. Its OK... Make it cheaper, then the rating might go up.

In 2015, Chad's A/C installed 2 units (a Mitsubishi mini split and a regular unit) in our new…read moreconstruction home. Upon installation of the regular unit, it was installed incorrectly and caused a leak. This leak caused the entire den ceiling to have to be replaced prior to our initial move-in. After this, the company realized the mini split was installed incorrectly and needed the entire exterior wall removed in order to connect to the outside unit. Chad's A/C delayed returning to finish the HVAC system. This stalled our construction for thirty days while we repetitively reached out to Chad's in order to get them to return to finish the job. Once they finally returned, they had terrible attitudes as if it was our fault the units were installed incorrectly originally. We were invoiced for the repairs via mail. We contacted Chad's numerous times asking for Chad to call us in order to discuss the house repairs they had caused. He refused to call me back over a span of four weeks. After all this time, Chad finally texted and stated that he was not going to pay for the repairs to our home since he claimed that the damage to our home fell under typical construction costs. Furthermore, he stated that if we deducted the amount for the repairs that he would not warranty our air conditioner even though a ten year warranty was discussed within the original quote. Finally, we were able to reach out to Dana Whiswall who came to my business to discuss the damages. We went over everything that had taken place and she agreed that the damage costs did not fall under typical construction costs and deducted this amount from the bill. We wrote her a check for the remaining amount and believed that these issues were resolved. Since 2015, every year, if not more than once a year, the mini split required service calls. Chad's A/C requires a $79.95 service fee that has to be paid prior to schedule of service. We paid this every time in order to get our unit serviced regardless of the fact that this was a new unit in a new construction home that was recently installed. In 2022, we called to schedule a service call. Once Doug Moncrief, the repairman, arrived he stated that there was nothing they can do to fix the issues and the seven year old unit needed to be completely replaced. We reached out for a second opinion from Myer's A/C who agreed that the unit was in such disrepair that it did need to be replaced. They quoted $6800 for the job. We began to contact Chad's A/C again in order to use our warranty and replace the unit. We originally spoke to Mary in Chad's office who said that the unit would be replaced. After this, contact from Chad's A/C was abysmal. We called, texted, and reached out on Facebook Messenger numerous times. Mary would either not return our phone calls, or she would call to state "I said I would call. I have no information. This is your call" and hang up. Chad finally sent a message on Facebook stating that he would not be replacing the unit as he had only warrantied our units for 5 years since we deducted the repair costs. We, then, sent a certified letter to Chad's with no response. At this point, we realized our hand were tied. We realized that we had made a grave error. Upon giving Dana the check, she never gave us our warranty certificate. There is nothing we can do at this point besides warn others against this scamming, untrustworthy, unprofessional company. We are now using Myer's A/C for the replacement and having to pay out of pocket $7K since we have no documentation the warranty ever existed.

With the temperatures rising and people needing Freon added to their units, I thought it might be…read morehelpful to post my experience for others that might need an HVAC technician. I have an older unit (12 years) that was low on Freon. It is an R22 system- for those of you unfamiliar, R22 has been phased out and the R22 liquid refrigerant is quite expensive compared to the newer freon. I called Chad's A/C direct and asked them what they would charge to fill up my unit with R22 freon. They told me their price for R22 was $98/ pound + a $75 service call fee. That seemed on the higher end so I called a church friend who's an HVAC tech. He said that R22 ranges from $50 - $100 / lb. The wholesale cost (what Chad's is paying) is about $20/lb. He also recommended asking them if they carry an R-22 alternative like R407c or R421A as they are less than $10/lb wholesale and most HVAC companies will only charge $20-$50 / lb for it. I called Chad's back and asked them what their R-22 alternative price was and they started stammering and backpedaling...they put me on hold then finally got a manager on the phone who told me they don't use R22 at all- all they use is the R421 cheaper knockoff and they still charge $98/lb for it! When I confronted them that it was dishonest to pass off a cheaper alternative for the real thing and have the audacity to charge full price for it, the manager apologized and then blamed the mistake on a "new employee" Regardless if it was an honest mistake or not, charging $98 / lb for a knockoff R22 freon is highway robbery. I called 5 other companies and got drastically lower pricing which I will list below. When I told them I knew that their wholesale price was under $10/lb they got super defensive and sarcastic saying, "Well if you know where to get it at that price, please let us know." So I called 2 supply houses in Montgomery and confirmed that you can in fact get R421a for less than $10/lb. (Feel free to google R421a or R407c to confirm this) Below are 5 HVAC techs I called & got pricing from that will save you $100s: 1. Robert Wood (334) 531-2580 - Call for pricing, but he's the cheapest 2. Quality Heating & Air (334) 277-7778 - R22- $50/lb. - R407c $23/ lb. 3. Grady Air (334) 850-2472 - R22: $75/lb. - R407c: $65/lb. 4. Pinson Air Conditioning & Heating (334) 567-2347 - R22: $50/lb. 5. Zach Reese (334) 430-1299 - R22: $65/lb. Bottom Line: Avoid Chad's unless you want to get ripped off
