We buy every year and take it to Los Angeles for an annual Utah Pot Roast Party for our neighborhood. We get people calling in Aug to see when the party will be for that fall. We have 50 to 70 people and they all claim the pot roast is the best in the world. Several have tried to make the same with Don's rub and local meat with admitted failure. Just going in and talking with Don and his wife is a treat in itself with the plus of knowing you are going to get the best meat in the world.

To refute the one star review by Ernest L., as a former meat processor, 1/3 hanging weight sounds about right for boned, double skinned wild game. Shot placement is also a factor in finished weight. Burger is proportional. 99 cents a pound (plus tax) processing is a good price. There is no robbery here and this is a lament I have often heard on my side of the cutting table from people who have never processed their own meat. I've never seen any animal that is 2/3 MEAT as Mr. L. seems to think his elk was.

You can tell the owners make everything here with love. WOW! All of it was great, according to my candy connoisseur-kids, and me, of course! The person working at the time was lovely and talkative, and she conversed with my husband about the nuances of a small town, while I browsed, tempted by most everything I saw.
