Called and talk to a nice manager, Karrie, who informed me I could bring a pair of jeans back, and they would exchange them since it was under a year and that was Cody James policy. She pulled up my receipt on the computer, and then told me she would put the pair in the back with my name on it on a forty eight hour hold. I went in today with my pair of jeans in hand and went to the counter.They found the other ones in the back and then proceeded to tell me they could not do that. Unfortunately, Karrie was not there and Danny helped me. He was very unprofessional and just kept saying, oh, sorry, we can't do that, but have a good day... I explained to him multiple times the situation, and that I drove from Oroville to pick up the jeans, Karrie had put in the back. he proceeded to tell me, "oh, we can't do that. They've been worn." I said, I know that. And so did she because obviously they were purchased over four months ago, and because they were torn is the reason we are exchanging them. Karrie had specifically told me that since it was under a year, they could just exchange them right there. And whether she was right or wrong, although she is a manager, was not the point, it was the point that that is what she had told me and I drove all the way to Yuba City to exchange them. Sad part is there was no "I'm sorry or maybe we could just at least give you a discount if you want to purchase other ones since she told you wrong. Et, cetera. The quality of the products are great but the customer service was a 7/10. Today, as I was waiting in line an employee says "sorry for the long wait" while passing by and I liked that. As soon as it was about to be my turn to walk to the register another customer walks to the only register available. But, the employee at the register did not tell us, customers, that she was going to help that customer with her purchase before my purchase. I would've liked to be informed that the other customer was being helped so that way there isn't any confusion or complaints in future. read more

The arrival of the new Boot Barn in town is fantastic. My husband enjoys purchasing his farming boots from this store, and I recently bought my own pair of cowboy boots. Although I can't recall the name of the sales associate, she was very helpful during my visit. However, I noticed that she occasionally lost focus as she was assisting several customers at once. Typically, there is someone to greet you when you enter the store. Overall, the location and product selection are quite good. read more

I would not shop at this boot barn.. waited inside the mall for it to open to have a boot barn employee tell me that I need to go around through to the outside. Which I find ridiculous because I show up at 10 o'clock during open hours to have it closed so now I'm just playing this back-and-forth would not recommend this boot barn very unprofessional not courteous to customers thinking it's funny to have their customer. wait five minutes inside the mall for them to open the door to only have the customer returned back to the outside entrance. One of the managers started speaking very loud to me. I asked her to please lower her voice. Maria was not the super rude manager. It was a thinner manager . I asked her to not yell at me. I asked her if she needed me to bring in my boyfriend because he paid the original purchase. She swung around and said " you just threatened me." I ended up just leaving without doing the exchange . The next day I came back after crying on the phone to Maria . I was glad I got to avoid the irrational aggressive managed the next day. I made a cute short purchase with a very friendly sales girl and was able to get boots that didn't rub. The clothes are so cute , but like other reviews say. The girl at the front was busy texting on her watch and when I asked to use the bathroom she laughed and said there was no bathroom and I could go two doors down to hobby lobby when Maria had no issue letting me use the restroom last time we spent hundreds of dollars here. read more

0 stars !!!! Very disappointed in my new boots! I cant believe that I spent 215.00 for boots that are falling apart. I got these cody james boots on 9.19.19. (My birthday) Not even a month later they are damaged and falling apart. I have bought many pairs of boots at boot barn! I have never had a pair of boots last less than a year! These ones didnt last a full month. I dont feel this should cost me anything to replace these boots. since they are not even 30 days old! If the boot barn would like to see me continue buying boots here for my wife, daughter, and myself. I would suggest they contact me to tell me how we can make this right. read more

I personally have never left or felt the need to leave a yelp review going into a store, even when my experience hasn't been pleasant. But yesterday I went into Boot Barn to look around and wait for my friend to arrive, who is an employee at another store in the mall and has told me about the mall stores shop lifting protocols. I walked in and was greeted and before I was even out of ear shot, I could hear the lady who greeted me talking over the mic using the stores protocol to inform them that I was a potential shop lifter. Immediately there was at least 3 employees surrounding me and continuously asking if i needed anything, which I also know from my friend that there are rules for over greeting and pestering customers. I obviously knew something was off pretty quick but I just remained calm and continued looking at dresses. I found a dress I liked that didn't have a tag on it and asked for a price check, it was too much and so I left it behind the counter and was still bothered. I then looked at boots in my size and found a pair I had been looking for so I tried them on, and then went to look at boots in my friend that was joining me's size. I was followed into that section yet again and asked what I was looking for, for probably the 10th time at that point. The employee then asked if she could hold my boots for me which I obviously said yes, because I know ACCORDING TO PROTOCOL that they should stop following me. I was in the store for maybe 20 minutes total, including the time after my friend arrived. I was dressed well, smelt well, had my hair fixed and makeup done. The only thing they could have profiled me on was my age, 17, and the fact that I was carrying a tote bag. I have severe anxiety and being harassed while not doing anything remotely suspicious from the moment I walk in is enough to ruin this store for me. Like seriously guys get it together. read more

so right when i walked in the manger maria gave me dirty looks and also gave me attitude when i picked up my boots that i had stretched. also when she went to the back to get my boots she came out with black boots so as she walked up i said those are not my boots and she ignored me and then went on to have me sighn a paper and then i had to tell her those are not my boots and my name is not elvia lol she also seen my id so like i dont get how there was a mistake bit who cares her attitude sucks a d make me feel very uncomfortable so after getting my boots , i had to ask her for a bag so then after getting a bag i continued shopping to find a shirt she kept looking at me as if i was going to steal like sheesh if i known i was going to be followed and not able to shop in peace i would have never asked for a bag . also she asked me if i needed help like 5 times after i told her i did not need help . if i was buying anoth pair of boots then id probably seek help but yea shes so rude read more

Terrible customer service, when's customer walks through the door you would think that a sales person would offer help right away but that's not the case here, the worst part is when I'm standing at the counter waiting to ask if they could locate or order the boots I need that they do not have and I wait 15 minutes to not receive help at all. One more thing if a certain size sales better then another and you tend to run out of that size quite often then why not carry more of that size then the ones that tend to not sale as well. I will drive to the Chico boot barn from now on and hope the service is better then the yuba city store. Management really needs to work with there sales people on what customer service means, because without the customer your just a building full of unsold merchandise. read more

Very oppressive atmosphere in this store. About 8 employees working on the day my husband,daughter and I went there and 4 of them seemed to be security. When we walked in 2 big guys stood on either side of the door watching as we came in, and as we left 2 big women stood on either side of the door. My husband and I are both over 60 and we were with our petite daughter. Not exactly dangerous shop lifter types. My husband found jeans and a shirt to buy. My daughter and I found nothing. The store has no Tall women's clothing and no XS women's. Seems to be strictly for the 5 ft 5 women in the small to large size. read more

Horrible service. My fiance went yesterday and bought some boots for about 140 bucks. They charged him in the store yesterday. Then he got charged again today for the same amount. He called them and talked to the accountant who was extremely unhelpful. She tells him that one of the charges is pending the other is processing so it's not charged twice. They must think we are stupid to think we would believe this. If you can avoid this place I highly suggest it. Now we have to wait 8-10 days before we see a refund because of their mistake. read more

This store is not helpful. I came in looking for my 1st pair of boots. I was greeted by an older male associate. I told him that I needed help finding some narrow shaft boots. He pointed me to the row containing my size, but told me that he had 4 customers ahead of me...which was okay. The problem I had was the 2 gals gossiping behind the counter about non-work related issues. IMO, if they have time to socialize, they have time to help customers. I spent $300 on boots elsewhere. I, now, know not to waste my time coming to this Boot Barn because customers are obviously not their priority. I should not have disregarded the other reviews. read more

This store is a joke. Ordered a $250 pair of boots on May 5th and after they got my money they obviously no longer cared to provide good customer service. I don't live in Yuba City so they offered to order them for me and ship them to Chico. They said it would take about a week to arrive to Chico, so almost 2 weeks later I called Yuba City only to find out they hadn't shipped them to Chico yet.. they hadn't even called me to inform me they had arrived to Yuba City either. Another week goes by and I call them again... only to find out my boots were still in Yuba City. ANOTHER week goes by and I call them again just to find out the same thing. I spoke to an employee and he was able to locate my boots in the Yuba City store. He identified the exact Dan Post boots I had ordered meaning he had access to them. He transfers me to his manager Warren which I'm not too sure why I wasn't asking for anything crazy. Warren already sounded annoyed when answered the phone so I thought the other employee had at least explained the situation and that's why he was bothered at me. I just asked if he could PLEASE (I was still being nice because I've worked customer service before) ship my boots to Chico and explain to him how it's been several weeks already and he cuts me off and said he doesn't even know what I'm talking about and tells me he can't help me today because his computers shut off and I have to call him tomorrow. I then tell him the other employee was able to locate my boots even describe them to me and he acted surprised. Now obviously I get annoyed at the fact he's trying to brush me off another day when I already waited nearly a month. I explained to him how all I'm asking for is for them to do what they said they would and finally get them shipped to Chico. The WORST customer service I've ever come across. I've been a retail store manager for 10+ years, and never have I met people who cared so little for their customers and their business. It's always a mess, you never get greeted or talked to, and when upon returning an item that was clearly a manufacturer defect, WITH a receipt they refused. All the while accusing me of getting my "leather wet" and "dumping chemicals" on them after wearing them for TWO days. If you have to shop at a boot barn, shop in Chico, they're amazing. Their is NO customer service at this location! We knew what boots we were shopping for and the selection is decent. We could not find jeans in the correct size. A lady who worked there actually bumped into me and got annoyed I was in here way! Seriously?! You have to bend over to look under the table at additional sizes. When the cashier was ringing up our $250 plus sale, the same lady went behind the counter to talk about another shopper in the store. HELLO! We are trying to have our purchases added so we can pay...not be totally ignored by staff and treated so indifferently. Bathrooms are like a pig stall and last time i went they had a $20 off sign of a pair of boots i wanted, but when i was about to pay for them the guy said it was not on sale. Went in today bought a pair of boots and a couple pairs of pants cause the place I normally go to which is dons shoes is closed Sundays when I buy a pair of boots from dons they come with free laces and free leather oil services which is after buying them u can drop them off for free and they will oil and replace your laces free of charge when I asked the lady at boot barn if they do this she kinda laughed and said no we can sell u the oil and laces and U can do it yourself if I hadn't already paid for my stuff I would of just left but I won't go back I suggest you buy boots from dons shoes .. they lace and oil boots for free if u buy them there read more

I walked in there to pick up some boots my brother had reserved and as soon as I walked in I walked over to the cash register where about 8 employees were standing and they all just stared at me for a good while. Not a single one engaged me or even welcomed me to their lovely store. They finally said something to me once I said hi and once they finished staring at me. They weren't friendly AT ALL. I found it quite curious though that when I saw other customers walk in they were greeted with a hello or even told to have a nice night. We live in a multicultural community and it is really sad when it is apparent what people disapprove of this. If you can't deal with someone looking differently than you then you really shouldn't work in a customer service section of our community. read more

As a former employee for nearly three years I can say I have never felt better about leaving anywhere in my life. The manager, Michelle is absolutely an embarrassment to the store. She belittles her staff, spreads rumors about them - even though they are half her age and makes them extremely uncomfortable to the point where they truly can not provide service to customers. I know this because I have been in this situation. I have never been so mistreated by any individual. I finally had the last straw with the company and her when I was accused of theft. I had been an excellent employee, covering shifts, training new employees, stepping up and even teaching her how to do her job. I could not believe what they were accusing me of. Once I had found a new job I realized how poisonous this place truly is. I recently just went to this store & they had the worst customer service. My mom & i both went in 3-4 different times for one pair of work boots & had a huge problem. I went in alone & an employee named Maggie said was going to call me later that day to let me know if they had the boots my mom wanted. She never called, so the next day my mom went in again, and just ordered & bought the shoes herself. Without my knowledge, the employee ordered the shoes for ME but she never called me to let me know so there were 2 different pairs of boots being ordered, one for me & one for my mom, when i never knew she had ordered them for me bc SHE NEVER CALLED! When we went to pick them up she was extremely rude because of the mix up & was telling us to pay for the shoes when my mom already bought them when she placed the order. When there is a mix up, i'm 100% sure that the customer should not be treated the way she treated us & should try their best to figure out the problem patiently & kindly.
