It has now been roughly one year and six months, and I still do not have the boots. To Steven's credit, he has generally taken my calls, but the explanation has remained the same for months: the tops are being made, they are close, they are almost done. Unfortunately, none of those assurances have resulted in a finished product or even a clear, reliable update. Because I live out of town, I have made three separate trips to the shop to check on the order in person. Each time, I left with little confidence that anyone could clearly tell me where my boots were in the production process. On more than one occasion, it seemed difficult for them to even locate the order. I make a point of supporting small businesses whenever possible, especially craftsmen and local shops. That is why this experience has been so disappointing. Custom work can take time, and delays happen, but communication and accountability matter. After 18 months, repeated vague assurances are not enough. Based on my experience, I would caution anyone considering a custom order here. For me, this has been a very frustrating and disappointing experience.

After countless unreturned calls and texts, we recently ran into Steve in person. He promised the boots would be ready "this Saturday" -- but based on past experience and the fact that the shop is rarely open during posted hours, we're not holding our breath. More than anything, we just want honesty. If there are delays, say so. If the boots can't be made, tell us. What's been most frustrating is not just the wait -- it's being misled over and over. Wearing them for work, they looked like high end Italian dress shoes in my three piece suit. The day I picked them up, I missed Dolly Parton by 30 minutes as she, too, was there for the final fitting on her show boots.Lasted for many years of total comfort. My toe finally wore a hole in the side of the boot. I miss them every day. They were the best ever.
