This place is amazing. I had no idea there was such a market for athletic shoes. The inventory which changes daily was over the top. However, one of the reasons I went was to see the famous safe. Yes you heard me right. A Safe for the high end shoes. Since the athletic shoes my daughter was looking at were over $200.00, I wanted to know, what about the shoes in the safe. The let me in and well, they were very expensive. I guess my PF Flyers and Keds as a kid are not longer a things. Anyway, the staff was engaging, fair and helpful. They offer the shoes that are carried in your regular department stores. This place was Clean and Organized, no paper on the floor or overrun trash cans. The colors were vibrant with plenty of lights. The walls were labeled in sections to prevent confusion. The staff were very engaging and courteous. I drove straight from that place to Goodyear, and while I was there, 2 more people came looking for a shoe place that does what others don't/can't/won't. She warned me ahead of time that there were a number of pairs of zippered boots ahead of mine, so it wouldn't be a super quick turnaround. I told her to take her time, that they were unwearable in that condition, so waiting on a repair wouldn't change that fact. I grew up in a different city in a different state, but I knew this place. It's the place that's been there for years; where your parents and grandparents always went; where things are done for the customer not just for the money. Once the center of a bustling downtown, it's where people from every walk of life would come on the way to work, or at lunch and knew the staff by name. Now a little faded and a little quieter but the same place you could count on a job done at a fair price.

Around 3:00 PM on yesterday, I decided to head to the store because I hadn't received a pick up email yet and my event was at 6:30 PM. When I arrived, I found the sneakers in my size on the shelf. I tried them on and took them up to the register. I explained that I had placed an online order for same day pick up that had not been fulfilled yet. I said I went and found the shoes so could they go ahead and fulfill the order so I could take them and leave. The person at the register tried to say I would need to cancel my order and rebuy the shoes. Ummmm...why??? I already have an order! I told them I basically did the legwork for them--just look up my order number and fulfill it. It must have clicked in their head so that's what they proceeded to do. I received the email for pick up while I was standing at the register so I was able to get the shoes and go. I'm glad I went to the store myself and got my shoes off the shelf before someone else bought them. I seem to have issues whenever I go to any DSW in my area. Returns are always easy, and the cashiers are efficient and pleasant. I do shop this location periodically. It's about a 50/50 chance on whether the stock is orderly and organized. The worst area is usually the cosmetics and accessories (to the far right in the store). If you like to dig through the additional markdowns, it's not unusual to find items broken, sampled, etc. Same for the additional mark clothing; every once in a while those racks look more like thrift racks than clearance, but once you find that diamond in the rough it can be worth it. I do wish this location got more of the special occasion pieces, but either I always miss them or they go to different Rack locations. If you've got the time, it's a great place to find great prices on everything from budget-friendly brands to designer brands.

When shopping here I expect at least a 50% discount, but it's not uncommon to only find 25%-30% on discounted items. Even with these negatives, I've found great shoes and some clothing.
