However, the selection seems to have started going downhill after the Hudson Bay acquisition in 2013. Every time I went in, there seemed to be fewer and fewer products and more open space. I think they tried to pass it off as more open space made it feel more boutique and more refined. I say it just made the store quicker to shop. The one exception was probably the Louis Vuitton shop. I don't know if it was actually independently operating within Saks or still a part of it, but it did always seem better staffed with a much better inventory than the rest of the store. My last visit was before the 2025 holidays. I went expecting to see much more inventory for the season. Instead, it was very sparse, and it didn't look like there was any more in there than at the end of a season with a few sale racks and not a lot of new merchandise. Sadly, it was announced (2/10/26) that this location will be closing along with several more under some bankruptcy/reorganization of the parent company.

Not ideal, but I understand that there's a lot of holiday merchandise to move this time of year (wrapping paper, gift bags, etc.) They had some fancy dutch ovens (Staub brand) that I could need one day. Will remember they have that. I couldn't leave without checking out the pet section. The dogs will always get discounted goods. He's my baby, but he is a dog at the end of the day. I was really tempted to get the cat statue! I may go back for it since I can't stop thinking about it.
