While walking around St. Vital Centre yesterday, I came across this Cha House and felt like getting a drink. This bubble tea place is around the corner from entrance 5. I was the only customer there at around 4:30 pm. I am a fruit tea person. I went with the butterfly pea tea. It's consists of lemonade, butterfly pea, and pearls. The place also loads whatever fruit is available, so I got raspberries. It comes in a single size. It looked like a large to me. My drink was $5.75 before taxes. If you're looking for cheap, yummy bubble tea, you want to come here. I got less ice. I wanted to try this tea at its normal sugar level. It took no time for my drink to be ready. I thanked the woman who made it, shook my tea up without even thinking about taking a photo (it was pretty with three different layered colours happening), speared it with my straw, and went to town sipping it. I actually sat down to enjoy it. There were a few comfy seats steps away for me to lounge and enjoy it. I loved it. I went with less ice. Yet, it was still an icy cold drink. This tea was sweeter than I usually take it, but it was still fine. The tapioca was chewy and enjoyable. I still feel like it was a steal to have tapioca included in the drink. The lemonade wasn't overly tart. You could still taste it. I enjoyed the raspberries in this drink. They complimented the lemonade nicely and provided a nice textural contrast. I'd get this drink again. The watermelon slushie that I had a year ago was excellent, too. This place uses fresh fruit, which is a plus. I like Cha House. There's one more location at Kildonan Place that I need to visit to complete my trifecta. The teas are yummy and refreshing. Winnipeg is lucky to have this franchise. (229)

This dollar store has taken over from where Office Depot used to be. Across from Dollarama was this Happy Lemon bubble tea store. I hadn't seen a Happy Lemon store in eons. A Yelp GTA experience drew my attention to the one in Vaughan, near Vaughan Mills. This franchise did not do well in Ontario and has since shuttered all its stores in the greater Toronto area. It was nice seeing that Happy Lemon was thriving in Winnipeg. It was a hot day. I was in need of some hydration, so I walked over to get some bubble tea. I got to see the mascot again. She was cool. Staff were friendly. I asked the man what drink sizes were available. Large is the smallest size. XL is next, which is a litre. There's also a two-litre size, but it depends on the type of drink that you are getting. I ordered an XL watermelon green tea with rainbow jelly and less ice. Sadly, I couldn't adjust the sugar. The man was too preoccupied with his conversation with his peer that he first charged me for a large. I paid with a credit card by tapping. I then looked at the receipt and realized that he made a mistake. I had to tap again to now upgrade to an extra large. It didn't take long for my drink to be made. It looked so pretty when it was handed to me. I thanked both folks and headed to my vehicle with a fairly hefty drink. The watermelon green tea was extremely refreshing and cold. I would have liked this drink less sweet. However, it wasn't gross. It was the natural sweetness of the watermelon coupled with the chewy rainbow jelly that made me forget about the sweetness after a minute. The toppings list was extensive. It had your regular salted cheese, various popping boba, and lychee jelly. You could also get cream puffs, various popping balls (kiwi, pineapple, and passionfruit). crystal jelly ball, coffee jelly, purple rice, and more. I felt like my eyeballs were getting bigger as I continued to read the list. One word: Wow! This store makes bubble waffles. The flavours are vast, from Oreo, to blueberry. There was plenty of parking at this plaza when I was here. I loved my drink. I'd return for more when I'm in the area again. (267)

I could taste that real brewed in a tea bag leaves in the Jasmine green tea lemonade drink. The honey added made it sweet and perfect! Maybe my stomach was just sensitive today but the chocolate puff milk tea with boba made my stomach queasy. Maybe it was the type of milk they used or the sugar but I had a hard time finishing it. It still tasted pretty good but the chocolate taste wasn't as authentic or sweet like the chocolate I am used to. The staff people were super friendly and knowledgeable. I needed their help with something and helpful they were! Thx guys! I can't wait to add more stamps on my Happy Lemon Card, 10 stamps equals a free drink! Oh and on Thursday they automatically give you a large for the price of a medium drink.

I stayed in Island Lakes while I was on vacation in Winnipeg. The closest Starbucks from where I…read morewas staying was this cafe. It's located in a large plaza. No Frills and Liquor Mart anchor it. I entered the plaza. It was a sharp right turn by this cafe. It was tight to hit the cafe's drive-thru that I ended up cycling around to enter it safely. There was a deal going on where you could get a croissant and an iced coffee for $5. I got a regular croissant heated up and a grande iced coffee with a splash of oat beverage. I ordered through the Starbucks app and drove over here. I got a friendly male voice when I got to the speaker area of the drive-thru. I said that I had a mobile order and stated my name. He said that my order was ready and said that I could drive up to the window. At the window, he cheerfully greeted me and handed me my goodies. He looked at my nails and said that he liked them. I had Hello Kitty and blue gel strips that were over two weeks old on my nails. His compliment made my day. I thanked him. He asked if I needed a straw. I said yes. He was great. He hoped to see me again. So friendly! I enjoyed my iced coffee. It was cold and yummy. The buttery croissant was delicious. It was flaky, buttery, and paired nicely with my iced coffee. I came back a few days later to fetch my birthday drink. The first barista had the day off. I got an equally friendly female barista. I ordered a venti summer skies refresher. I also felt like breakfast and got a sausage and egg sandwich. I had also ordered these items through the app. This woman wished me a happy birthday. I wasn't expecting it, but it was a lovely gesture. I got my drink with a straw and napkins with my sandwich. I thanked her and headed over to a parking spot to enjoy breakfast. I used to get the sausage and egg sandwich often several years ago. It has changed. The English muffin is smaller. I actually like less of it to get to the protein. It's the perfect size for the egg and sausage. This sandwich was extremely cheesy. Cheddar cheese melted and stretched when I took it out of the paper bag. I still love this sandwich. It was yummy and hit the spot. The summer skies refresher is my favourite summer drink. I love it so much, especially with the raspberry popping boba. I miss this Starbucks. Staff were super friendly and they never messed up my orders. The drinks and food were yummy. (301)
