In person, Dr Stewart is a very caring and knowledgeable doctor and she'll listen to what you have going on and work with you to provide the advice, treatments, and other information you might need in order to maintain or improve your health. I am a bit of a traditionalist, going to a male doctor for physical check up scares me. I am in health care profession and usually a female nurse is present in the room during physical check ups. Well, his female medical assistant walked out the room. I panicked and my BP went up to 355/225. He scared me even more when he asked me questions about my ethnicity/background/heritage etc. Then he tells me he has to report me to ICE, since I had no health insurance, and my status in US was questionable. (note: yes I had no health insurance, because I had a job of live in caregiver, and I was a legal documented Immigrant who was being sponsored by her employer) Anyways, he advised I go to to ER and get an IV drip to lower my BP before I stroke out. I almost fainted. I went home instead, drank water, I called my family physician she saw me at her office. My BP was 125/65. I told her what had happened, she said I am not the only one, she has seen other female very legal and undocumented immigrants too who visited this guy and suffered a panic attack. Anyways she gave me meds, and after a week I returned to this guy with a low and very normal parameters of BP and I got my USCIS clean medical bill of health. I give him 3 stars. He was not very professional, and should've known that usually immigrants esp. female ones who hail from certain countries don't like being left alone with male doctors. I asked her can I speak to someone else she told me I can call back well I told her how her attitude was and she then said ok have a good day and hung up on me for that reason I will not be seeing anyone at if they have people like this at the front desk a place of hospital setting doctors office setting this type of attitude should not be reflected. People don't come to be seen because they're in the best mood or shall I say best Health possibly so but this is not a place to have that type of a rigged attitude.

Do yourself a favor and just call AU health's central appointment line. The staff can't make appointments without new patient forms filled out. And they can't expedite new patient appointments based on patient needs. There is no webform and no way to submit the form via a modern interface like email. Instead you have to go though their disastrously implemented new patient portal (separate from their patient portal that is accessible though the website) doesn't seem to transmit jpegs or pdfs despite showing them in the sent folder. The person on the phone can't tell you if your forms went through on their garbage messaging system. Even if they do go through, the doctor has to 'accept' you. There is no time expectation for this step, it takes as long as it takes, could be weeks. Is this an exclusive club or a primary care doctor? Each time I call they tell me my expected wait for my new patient appointment is longer, from 2 weeks the first time I called and attempted to submit the form to 4-6 weeks today. There were too many red flags, I just couldn't believe this complete lack of professionalism and poor service. Thank goodness I called the AU central line today, they gave me an new patient primarily care appointment two days from now. If I had started with AU I could have avoided hours of stress and headaches and some urgent care and ER visits. Don't be fooled!
