Some of the bourbons we tasted.

Looking for something to do and found this one hour tour at Boone County Distilling. Near by and affordable, 4 of us gave it a try. We are not bourbon drinkers but thought it would be fun to experience. Logan was our tour guide and he was great! We asked all kinds of questions about bourbon and the process. The Boone County brand has a unique backstory dating back to the 1800s! Very enjoyable. The tasting was great and we bought 4 bottles of various bourbons.

This is definitely a good stop off on the bourbon trail. Our tour guide was super nice and knowledgeable. These little craft distilleries are a hidden gem. Their bourbon cream is delicious if you go, grab a bottle. Just a down to earth vibe and we love that.

Beautiful drive! Easy to navigate, the location was beautiful inside and out. The staff was courteous. The bar/event area is spacious. I do appreciate that you can purchase and enjoy a cocktail/cigar. Great tasting experience - the host was fantastic and knowledgeable. I will have to schedule a tour for my next visit.

The Guide was very informative and knowledgeable about the entire process and the small group experience is a lot more personal and being able to bring our pet meant a lot to us Thank You, Highly Recommend to anyone interested in the process..

I was so impressed with this place and our tour! Our group of 5 were the only ones on our tour, so it was so fun to ask questions and feel like we were getting a private, exclusive tour. Logan was our tour guide and I was shocked to learn he had only been there a month - he was incredible!! We had the best time, learned so much about both bourbon, this company's specific practices, and some wild local history from bourbon's early days, which we were fascinated by, having grown up knowing Boone County. The tasting was great too, we got to try several things, learned so much, and all the staff was friendly. The event space was also beautiful. This was my first distillery tour so I was fascinated by the process and appreciated the small scale because it felt less intimidating. A great winter activity and makes me excited to try others in the B Line and purchase even more Boone County bourbon in the future. Thank you!!

A fun experience for my girls and me. We went online and made reservations for the last tasting available on Black Friday. We were warmly greeted and felt at home the minute we walked through the door. We didn't opt for the tour because we didn't have the extra time in our schedule. Next time for certain. Definitely a highly recommend stopping by for an experience and learning about a top KY industry.

Our first visit to Boone County was a good one! We arrived a bit early for our tasting-only reservation, and the man working offered to put us on the tour that'd just started. We joined in but realized that we wouldn't make out next appointment so we jumped off the tour after only a few minutes. What we caught, however, was informative. The tasting was nice. We tried five different spirits. The tasting including descriptions about how the spirits were made and how to taste them. Our guide was very helpful and interesting. The tasting--which was $9 per person--also included a shot glass to take home, which was a fun surprise! The location of the distillery is a bit strange--it's in a business park--but the interior is newly renovated and very pretty. We'd definitely recommend a visit if you're in the area! Be sure to try the bourbon cream!

A must if you're on a NKY bourbon binge! The tour is very detailed and they let you explore the grounds as much as you'd like, they let me get above and look in at the mix. The package is very inexpensive and the product is delicious, I think they've got a whiskey for every kind of drinker.

Boone County Distilling Co. has an awesome story. I enjoy their products quite a bit, which is why I chose to visit them on my day off. If you come to Boone County expecting a huge operation like Wild Turkey or Jim Beam, then you will be shocked at how much smaller it is. I was surprised myself at how small it is, but that sort of adds to the "sweetness" of BC. It was your standard distillery tour. They hit all the normal points... - History of distillery - Process of making bourbon - Visit the rick house - See the bottling - Tasting Voila! You're done. What makes BC really cool is that they are a smaller operation and therefore have smaller, more intimate tour groups. This I appreciated. I feel like you can have a good Q&A with the tour guide. PRO TIP: Ask the tour guide if they are selling any distillery exclusive products in the gift shop. On this occasion, they had single barrel rye and small batch bourbon finished in Oloroso Sherry casks. Picked up the Sherry finished bourbon and made my bourbon buddies jealous. :)

We all know that Covington can be a bit spooky with the shirtless locals wandering the streets. But…read moredid you know that part of this city is rich in Civil War era history? Haunted Covington, presented by the same folks who bring you the Newport Gangster Tour, takes guests on a five block journey through the Licking River Historic District. We heard stories about Mr. Bruce, whose residence was haunted by a galloping black horse. He also posted bail for John Hunt Morgan, a notorious Civil War Confederate who was captured by the Union Army. Down the street, the unemployment office on 4th Street used to be home to a slave owner. Tales were also told about the "Lady In Grey," an infamous ghost of a wealthy woman who spent her life throwing lavish parties. This residual haunting reports the woman comes downstairs to straighten the dishes and make sure the setting is ready for company. Nearby, the Governor's Point condominiums were converted from an old hospital...which also used to have a psychiatric wing on the second floor. Residents have plenty of tales from that floor. My favorite was the story about the doctor who invented Valium, who fell off his balcony and was impaled on his fence. In addition to learning all sorts of cool history about Covington, the path the tour takes is absolutely gorgeous. We went on a crisp autumn evening with a chill in the air and the sidewalks lined with fresh fallen leaves. With all the old colonial houses in the area, it felt like we were walking through New England. I'd go on the tour just for that experience. Carl, our guide, was an adorable old man dressed in period costume. He was very knowledgeable and a great story teller. It was like having Grandpa show you all the interesting things in a neighborhood. Carl was also full of whimsy, making hilarious commentary along the way. One of my favorites: "Behind me is one of the most terrifying, desolate places in Cincinnati....Paul Brown Stadium." HA! The tour concludes with a visit to the Baker-Hunt Museum. Both buildings feature gorgeous Victorian architecture and many artifacts, furniture, and clothes left from the family's estate. One building is reportedly haunted by a young boy named Duncan, who has interacted with patrons in the past. (Our group didn't experience anything.) Still, it made for a cool story. If you're looking for a Halloween adventure with spooky folktales and beautiful autumn scenery, a tour of Haunted Covington is a must! Price per person: $20 (or find a GroupOn for 2/$20) Viewing Time: 2 hours

After going on the Queen…read moreCity Underground tour, I was quite excited to see what they had in store for the Haunted Covington tour. The Good: Here's the bright side- I felt like I had never seen Covington before. I pride myself on being a Cincinnati connoisseur, but I had never really stopped and taken the time to smell the roses in Covington. Wow. While looking at the beautiful houses around Covington, we were told many ghost stories about them. Some of them were good, others not so much. The Bad: My friends and I did our best to stay towards the front of the group to talk to the guides and get a good view of the scenery. While talking to the guides we asked him about how much studying he had to do in order to feel comfortable giving these tours. He told us that he was a paid actor and had been given material to memorize. As my friend put it, the tour lost the "Disney Magic." It's not as though I expected these people to have studied the city their whole life...but I guess it didn't do much for me to know that these people likely didn't have the same love for this city that the people on the tour did. Here's my advice to American Legacy Tours when it comes to these haunted tours: Lose the funny hats, the costumes, and stick to your guns. The Cincinnati underground tour blew me away. I loved that other people were talking about the city with such passion. Sure, throw in some ghost stories...but keep the tour "real."

We sailed on the River Queen which is the smaller boat. The food buffet was very good and there was something for every taste. Very fresh salad with two dressing options, rolls, meltingly tender beef in a rich brown gravy, baked chicken, mashed potatoes, farfalle pasta in red sauce, scrumptious grilled vegetables. And decadent creamy cheesecake for dessert. Free coffee and tea, and reasonably priced bar drinks for purchase. Our server, Anna (Onna?) was most attentive and usually within sight if you wanted something. The whole crew were very professional, very polite and respectful and eager to please. Our entertainer was engaging with his ongoing narration of the sights and historical facts along the river interspersed with banjo music. The two hours went by quickly. I put on my hoodie and spent some time out on deck, where you can smoke 'em if you got 'em. I decided it was time for a cocktail so I ordered an Anchors Away which was delicious, nautically blue, and had a definite kick. I was really looking forward to getting the pictured souvenir glass, but the first of two wrinkles took place as I was advised they were out of them due to some recent large parties on the bigger boat. Boo. If you're going to advertise souvenir glasses, order more than enough to keep them in stock. Anna arranged to give me the drink in the larger souvenir vessel, which is pretty, but heavy ceramic and I don't see myself using it at home other than for a decoration. The second wrinkle was our bar tab printed out as though I ordered multiple drinks. My husband didn't look at it and just handed over the debit card...then I saw it and went up to tell them not to run it but it was too late. Somehow they had already realized it was wrong but it took such a long time for them to figure out how to void the transaction, which bothered me. The cruise director had to get involved to fix it. Her name was Tasha and she was very nice and so apologetic about the situation, she comped our drinks for the trouble and boxed up some cheesecake for us to take home. She seemed to agree with me that if the owners had not decided to "go cashless" last year this would never have happened. I asked her to pass on my comment that it is not good to refuse to accept payment in legal tender American money and I feel it was a bad move. For this reason I will never give five stars even if the cruise is flawless. Nonetheless I hope to have the chance to take a cruise on the River Queen later this year.

Friendly service. The food was pretty good. Several options on the buffet, including ample vegetarian options (salad, pasta, mashed potatoes). Dessert was lacking in freshness and flavor. Would have liked some trivia or narration of the sights and history of Cincinnati. The music was nice but ended the night being REALLY loud. Overall it was a nice way to spend an evening particularly to see the skyline and get some sunset photos. I couldn't recommend for the ambiance or the food itself.

Mai was great to work with in the time leading up to our trip; she was sure to provide us all the important information that we would need to prepare for our trip, without wasting our time with useless information or too many Zoom calls that feel unhelpful or confusing, as we had experienced with another tour company in the past. I will always recommend events and trips with our ambassador, Aaron Sagers; when you travel with Aaron, you are always in for a great time. And I can't say enough about our Irish tour guide, Adrian; not only does he know so much about Ireland's folklore and history that he wants to share, but he is also just a wonderful person with whom we all had a genuine connection and now feels like a family member. Thank you, Ado, we appreciate you so much. Our tour bus driver, Ronan, was just lovely; he kept us safe, got us where we needed to go, and shared lots of laughs with us as well. We experienced a truly unforgettable 9 days in Ireland thanks to Mai, Adrian, Aaron, and Ronan. Everything seemed to operate quite smoothly (which I am sure Adrian was a big part of), and after taking another spooky tour overseas in the past that did not go as well, it was much appreciated how seamless this tour was. We never had to worry about a lack of communication, itinerary changes, or that anyone would be left behind. The structure of the tour allowed us some later morning starts as well as time every day to experience the location that we were staying in; to explore the town, and to see and do what the locals do. This was a big selling point of this tour for us, to not feel rushed every day and to have time to soak it all in. We also stayed at great hotels, which were at the least nice (as well as clean), but we even had a surprise stay in the most gorgeous castle rooms one night of our tour! We appreciated the smaller size of our tour group (18 folks, not counting Adrian, Aaron, and Ronan), which allowed for a more personal connection with our guides, as well as with each other. By the end of the tour, we all felt like family, and it was quite an emotional goodbye, which, in part, I think was likely due to the smaller group size, which allowed us to get to know each other. It also didn't feel like you were just a number, as it can feel with a larger tour group. Every single person on the tour felt important, included, and a part of the group. The itinerary was clear from day one when we signed up for this tour, and we were fortunate that there were no changes to our itinerary (likely due to thoughtful and good planning on Mai and Adrian's part), and instead, any changes to our itinerary were just enhancements or bonus surprises. It is good to know that you are going to get what you pay for with one of these types of tours. Adrian brought us not only to some well-known tourist locations but also to some off-the-beaten-path locations, making our tour feel more personalized and special.
