There is no 'meat taste' at all so get in here and give these a try. I had a feeling I would love it and I did. It's a large yet cozy venue with the number 5 featured prominently in assorted art as well as on the tables. The building is historic, lots of wood, brick and brass railings plus a stunning Victorian bar back. We ate at the bar which was very comfortable. Little sliding wooden trays to make it convenient for eating, then just move them out of the way when you're done. They have 10 or so craft beers on tap and a full bar. We had the opportunity to sample a couple brews and we both enjoyed our beer choices and the food. Prices were fair, and tax is included in the menu price. I really want to shout out our bartender/server. Didn't get her name but she had round glasses with eyeglass chain attached and was on the shorter side. She was very customer focused, answering all our first-timer questions, attentive, appropriately conversational, and definitely on the ball as she was handling tables too. Top notch service. About those railings: unless there's a special back entrance, the venue may not be wheelchair accessible. There are two or three steps at the entrance, and if you want the bar instead of booth or table, another three or four. Both have sturdy solid handrails. I do not fault them for this; probably the historic building is exempt, but just wanted to note it for anyone needing that info. All in all a five star experience and I hope to return soon.

There is a stage on the north end and the way it's set up, it is kid friendly in the areas away from the bar up until 10 when it becomes an adults only space. I had planned stopping here as my last place to check out before heading home, so I arrived just as they opened at three. Even though they were still doing some set up for the crowd that night, I was welcomed and treated great throughout my visit. Really nice folks working here. I usually go with flights on my first visit to a brewery and so I asked. What I like here is that the flights are arranged however you like. I must have caught them on an off cycle because they only had five house brews on tap. So, I got all five in my flight. (I paid $8 but that was dependent upon the brews I selected.) I normally drink my flights from light to dark, and then IPA's, and finish with sours if all these are available. Unfortunately, they had run out of their IPA and didn't have a true sour, so I threw caution to the wind and just drank them as they were listed on the menu board. Turns out it wasn't the best plan. I started with the Brown Ale (great name....not) which is not a typical beer I order. Weighing in at 6%, it took a little getting used to, but it was okay. It was a mind changing beer. I moved on to a Biere de Garde (7%) that was much lighter with a bright clear amber color. I liked it better and was becoming more hopeful. I then tried the Razzy Wheat (pale wheat - American) at 5% which had a reddish clouded appearance. This was the best I had tried so far and the berry tartness/sweetness seemed like a winner to my palate. The next choice was dark and heavy like a Maelstrom (Imperial Stout) that logged in at a full 10%. Deep flavors and a strong taste of alcohol was not a smooth transition on my part. I should have arranged everything. Aaarrgghh! I finished with a delightful Wit (Witbier) at 5% which seemed especially light and appealing after the stout. Right up there with the Razzy as my favorite of the flight. I didn't try any of the food service so I can't say how it was in my review. Sounds like they have a lot of evening activities for those who like to be social when they drink. They also have a stage that gets plenty of use too. Overall, I can only give them a four for having a limited selection of brews on tap. (Note that they do have a number of bottled beers available if you are limited to liking just one style of beer.) I've seen long lists of beers that they have produced, so I'm not sure what led to such a low inventory of house brews. Hopefully, my next visit will catch them with a fuller list of options including their IPA. And I will drink them in the proper order. Review #2598

I even saw a snuggery for goodness' sake. And I am SO sitting there when we return soon for a meal. It was just a couple beers this first visit. It's just brick and old wood everywhere you look. Tiffany lamps. It's gorgeous and dark. The beer garden is a big comfy outdoor area, walled off from the street, with tons of tables, all with big umbrellas, plus a comfy couch under its own shelter. I saw four giant heaters ready for the wintertime. The taproom and beer garden are strictly 21+. There's a pulltab dispenser machine for your gambling pleasure. The menu looks interesting, unfortunately nothing on offer that's really English other than fish and chips which is a shame. The atmosphere just cries out for black pudding or a shepherds pie. So I'm really rating 4 1/2 on that account but definitely rounding up, as it is such a cozy feelgood place.

One person did not receive any. I ordered the chef salad with thousand island dressing. Salad was of a good portion but the dressing had very little taste. My wife got the Greek salad and hers tasted fine. My beer (tall draft) Michelob Lite and it arrived flat. I'm going to add that we were here with another couple who said they have been here a dozen times before and the service was never like this. Maybe I'd come back and give it another chance, but not impressed today. Waiting on check, I hope they serve breakfast

The place is very clean and unique with the brick exposed wall and all the very nice wood. Drinks my BFF got a soda and I ordered an old fashioned. Super tasty drink. We ordered the Fougase Bread well this was yummy to say the least. Kind of a light garlic butter on top served with marinara sauce. For our main we ordered the Detroit style pizza Motown. Pepperoni with hot honey. Hello you had me at hot honey. The food came out hot and was all delicious. The drinks were also very good. The sauce was getting all over my beard so we did request extra napkins which arrive asap and was very helpful. When I come back I want to try another pizza option but I really want to try the Praline Eclair Cake. I will say the young lady that was the bartender was super nice and took amazing care of both of us. We will be back.

The interior's smaller than I expected....we sat next to the windows in the front corner by the door and it was cold on a winter night. Our server was great. In a town where Pizza King reigns supreme, this is pretty fancy stuff by comparison. We got a red pizza - the Bushwick with soppressata, mozz and a honey drizzle, and a white pizza - the sausage and chives. Both were tasty. The crust is thin, authentic Italian style and crusty around the edges. I'm assuming these pizzas are cooked fast in a wood-fired oven. My kiddo drank water, and I had two pints of the craft lager beer made in house. A little on the watery side, but would be very refreshing to drink in the summer. Everything was good, but overall, seemed a little overpriced. Our bill came to $60 for two pizzas and two beers.
