This review isn't meant to say this place is terrible, but as the rating system goes "Meh. I've…read moreexperienced better." I've been to hookah bars across the country, and this one has been my least favorite. Imagine this: that geeky Middle Eastern kid in you high school's parents go out of town and he decides to throw a party in his basement. That's what this place reminds me of. A high school kid throwing a party. Think old couches and uncomfortable chairs mixed together all facing a large TV in the back. When my party of 5 arrived around 9:30 PM on a Saturday night, the place with a little empty. It filled up quickly which was nice, but seemed to attract a young crowd. The TV was playing the DIY network (because who doesn't like a side of Vanilla Ice's remodeling show with your hookah)? Our server brought us menus, but it turned out they were out of tons of tobacco flavors. We had to order three different blends, each time the server came back and informed us "we don't have this flavor..." until I almost said "Tell us what you DO have so we can order". We ended up with apple and clove which was a pretty good flavor. Enjoyable. The service was a little odd. After each item we ordered, the server informed us of the cost and kind of stood there like he expected us to pay a la carte or something. Order a drink? "That'll be one dollar" for a can. We asked if we could put everything together on a tab and pay at the end (like every other hookah bar I've ever been to) and he seemed surprised by this request but honored it. All in all, the atmosphere just isn't right yet. This is a new place, so give it some time to grow. It needs more comfortable seating if it expects people to hang out and relax. It needs more than some cans of coke served for a buck. It needs to keep it's tobacco stocked or inform you before you order what they're out of. Give this place a try, but maybe wait until they've gotten into their groove. However, the place gets two stars because the hookah was made quickly and prepared well. It was a good flavor and was quite smooth.

This isn't my usual cup of tea. I usually turn into a pumpkin around 11:00pm, and am already in…read morebed. Needless to say, a good friend of mine wanted to meet up here. It was just her and I last night. This is my first time coming this place... let alone the first time in five or so years that I've been to any hookah bars. I'm not generally interested in them, as I'm much more capable of packing and prepping a better hookah. I understand they're catering to the masses here, but those little details make a huge difference. And I HATE quick lights, but hey, what can they do? I'm not going to say much about the hookah set up itself. I didn't like it. But what impressed me was the quickness of the service and the politeness that both main servers/hostesses exhibited. I was especially fond of the female that was working. The typical reaction when two girls walk into a club/bar/hookah bar still happened. Two guys who were hosting came up and chatted with us for a bit...it was a rough drawn out conversation. My friend could tell that I was about to kill them, so she dismissed them politely before I said anything. Honestly, they were much more polite than other places I've been to, but I don't enjoy the small talk guys try to make with girls that come in by themselves. We were there to catch up with each other. Not for attention. Not for you. Regardless, the crowd here is very relaxed and reserved. ...At least, it was on a Monday. I'll go back for the service. It's a nice place to hang out with a friend when your significant other is fast asleep at your house and you don't want to wake him up with company. :p

Sahara Hookah Lounge - This is a black light basement shot. The main floor has a more middle eastern vibe.

Looking for vegan options, entertainment and a place to chill. This place has a very relaxing…read moreatmosphere that is fun and alive at the same time. Great music and belly dancing on Friday. The Mediterranean food menu had vegan options. Service was slow but ok. Food had a great taste and the belly dancing was fantastic.

The hookah and the food is fine. No issues there…read more My main issues is the atmosphere, service and pricing. I'll start with the atmosphere. Most nights it feels like it's trying to be a nightclub with its insanely loud music and lighting. Others are that special room at restaurants for people's birthdays. To me it's insane that regular customers or just people coming in for the first time are met with someone at the door requiring they pay an entrance fee. There's a bar next door for that kinda thing. The service here is very hit and miss. Whether it's the fact that you see online it opens at 4pm but you get there at 5 and you can't enter because that's when they choose to mop the floors... or you get there around 11 at night and no one waits on you until you go and get them and even then they take their time to get you a hookah or coals or whatever. Finally the pricing is maddening. I'll attach a picture for the pricing which is also just in the pictures for this place but anyways. My first time going here was on a Sunday night. I got a regular bowl(nothing fancy) and then I got a refill of the same thing. Total was around 30. Pretty standard for most places. The next night I went was on a Wednesday night. I was made to pay 10 at the door for someone's bday party and I had to Venmo them instead of the normal way you pay at the end of the night(super sketch). At the end of that night I only had 1 bowl(nothing fancy again) and the price was 37 making that a total of 47.... The third night I went was a Sunday night. Like my first time going I was assuming that maybe it was a fluke for that Wednesday and maybe Sundays were better??? Anyways I only got one bowl again(same) and I had a cover at the door also of 15 for whatever reason... my bill for that 1 hookah on that night was 48 dollars... so a total of 63 dollars for one hookah. Not to mention they look at you and expect tip. Which is insane to me. The reasons I wrote what I wrote are to warn any newcomers. It's definitely a turn off to get taken advantage of at a place you want to come and either relax or enjoy yourself. You should have specific things you do as an establishment and not veer from it. Pricing should stay what it says in the menu and there definitely shouldn't be some stranger at the door getting grinded on asking you to pay a fee just for wanting to sit down. I will be posting this on google also because my experiences have been insane here. All three of my visits happened within two weeks. So anyone saying that prices change over time. Sorry but that's a bust. The main reason I still put two stars was because the food, drinks and hookah are great. Just everything else is wrong.
