Let me start with a disclosure that I'm not a hookah person, but i do come here with friends. My friends do enjoy hookah and opine that this is the BEST in Cincy. Bohemian is located in a cool area, and the look and feel inside is pretty chill. Cozy cushions and chairs, interesting artwork decked in the walls, dim lighting, board games; this is a neat and solid cafe. Their tea is AMAZING! I love the cardamom and ginger kinds. A definite must try thing! The tiramisu and baklava is good too.

Came into town for a conference, needed a hookah fix(). This place came up with the best reviews. As someone who professionally does hookah, this was hands down the SMOOTHEST hookah I've ever had. I ended up coming back two nights in a row. It's very much a hookah CAFE and I loved the vibes and aesthetics. It's lowkey and kind of tucked away which meant it wasn't crazy crowded. The attendant was very attentive and I was pleased. Hookah was $20. They don't have food or liquor as of yet but the owner advised it was to come! Should I come back to Cincinnati, I will definitely come back to this spot.

The staff and people who work there are nice. However, the hookah is really bad and if you want regular charcoal they will charge you for $3.

Came to this hookah spot for a date night. Loved the atmosphere and the staff was very friendly. A nice chill spot. Very intimate. Hookah was great.

This is a comprehensive review from a regular patron so please excuse the length. I hope this information is beneficial: So first off, I know you think Hookah and have this very vivid picture in your mind: dragon smoke from your mouth as you sit lazily and feel just as cool as you appear surrounded by wonderful friends. Here's the caveat though. I bet you never extended that picture beyond the expanse of your circle of friends. Let me emphasize my next statement---this is THE place for peace. This is the place you can call a second home. I mean this from the bottom of my heart. The hookah is crafted in a way with care and consideration I haven't experienced before in my 25 years in this city. They have two choices: a great way to combine any flavors you want with one and then a premium kind that offers rich, thick-smoke concoctions like Obama (Yes... Obama--a Blackie special) and Pumpkin Pie! The freshly handmade teas are phenomenal---a fabulous mint tea to boot that is balanced, fresh and comforting. The chai here is rich and lavishly complex with freshly compound spices combined in with black tea. This is what Bohemian is for anyone who walks into the triple-window door that used to the Golden Lion in the heart of Ludlow (a village in Clifton that is as artistic as it is historic): Well first off, you'll notice how calm everyone is. Why? Well, first you'll be greeted by a wonderful delightful worker (it may be Tisha, MIranda or Lucy). All so very sweet and cordial in their own delightful ways. Also a regal, slender and somewhat mysterious character of a man will greet you when you visit here. He'll introduce you and make you feel welcome as if in his own home. This is a place for community and relaxation. The seating is plentiful and you'll be assisted even when the room seems crowded for your party of friends. The cafe is well ventilated, fresh, clean with comfortable couches and seating. My business there can be dynamic day to day. As a patron, I have found myself twiddling away on a smartphone, finishing up work begrudgingly (but still with some relief) in this temple of goodness. But the possibilities don't end there! I speak on this with sincerity. Here, I have made more partners in trade, friends to share stories with, and met people to ruminate on heated intellectualisms than any other spot in town. I delight in this place. It has brought me happiness.

    Chillin' with the Kiwi-PaanRaas!
    Nikhila K.

Won't you fancy some misty kiwi mint or paan ras on a chilly Friyay? I love to hang out with my friends after a long week of classes and endless work with some Red Bull or tea (depends) and chill with some sheesha. The way people are welcomed here makes you want to choose this place over any other.

    Wonderful flavored hookah and Tea
    Ramesh B.

Bohemian is every hookah lover's dream - dimly lit, cozy, with a wide range of flavors and chai tea. I really like the Paan flavor that they have. I am not really a hookah person but the handful of times I've been here, I have quite enjoyed it. Some of my friends who are hardcore hookah fanatics are total fans of this place. Despite being a 90 minute drive from Frankfort, it's a favorite spot to hang out. And the chai tea latte deserves a special mention. It's one of the reasons we keep coming back.

Ask the Community - Bohemian Hookah Cafe

How do they get there art work? Do they buy them from professionals or are they up for people wanting to be interested in making paintings/drawings for them to consider?

Talk to the new owner, Sam if you are interested in displaying your work there: most of what's on the walls are from local artists.

Most nights it feels like it's trying to be a nightclub with its insanely loud music and lighting. Others are that special room at restaurants for people's birthdays. To me it's insane that regular customers or just people coming in for the first time are met with someone at the door requiring they pay an entrance fee. There's a bar next door for that kinda thing. The service here is very hit and miss. Whether it's the fact that you see online it opens at 4pm but you get there at 5 and you can't enter because that's when they choose to mop the floors... or you get there around 11 at night and no one waits on you until you go and get them and even then they take their time to get you a hookah or coals or whatever. Finally the pricing is maddening. I'll attach a picture for the pricing which is also just in the pictures for this place but anyways. My first time going here was on a Sunday night. I got a regular bowl(nothing fancy) and then I got a refill of the same thing. Total was around 30. Pretty standard for most places. The next night I went was on a Wednesday night. I was made to pay 10 at the door for someone's bday party and I had to Venmo them instead of the normal way you pay at the end of the night(super sketch). At the end of that night I only had 1 bowl(nothing fancy again) and the price was 37 making that a total of 47.... The third night I went was a Sunday night. Like my first time going I was assuming that maybe it was a fluke for that Wednesday and maybe Sundays were better??? Anyways I only got one bowl again(same) and I had a cover at the door also of 15 for whatever reason... my bill for that 1 hookah on that night was 48 dollars... so a total of 63 dollars for one hookah. Not to mention they look at you and expect tip. Which is insane to me. The reasons I wrote what I wrote are to warn any newcomers. It's definitely a turn off to get taken advantage of at a place you want to come and either relax or enjoy yourself. You should have specific things you do as an establishment and not veer from it. Pricing should stay what it says in the menu and there definitely shouldn't be some stranger at the door getting grinded on asking you to pay a fee just for wanting to sit down. I will be posting this on google also because my experiences have been insane here. All three of my visits happened within two weeks. So anyone saying that prices change over time. Sorry but that's a bust. The main reason I still put two stars was because the food, drinks and hookah are great. Just everything else is wrong.

I mean I don't think you could go wrong with anything on the menu. When we first arrived we were greeted our front with samplers of the breakfast sandwich. So yummy. We were then seated at a large table, where we had made reservations in advance! The mimosas are only $3 during brunch! So I lost count as to how many the table enjoyed! And you can also do other flavors besides orange juice. And of course other alcohol is always an option. Everyone at the table ordered different things. All were great. However the portion sizes aren't huge. Which I liked because I hate the feeling of being stuffed, but others wanted more. I personally had the red velvet chicken and waffles. The chicken was SO GOOD. Whatever you decide to order go ahead and get a side of wings. as far as the waffle it was good but the strawberries made it a little soggy so next time I'll get that on the side. I also heard others mention the catfish and the shrimp and grits were tasty. Also shoutout to our server for taking such great care of us! For a group of 14 that slowly trickled in over the course of an hour she handled all of our orders like a pro! After the meal we went outside and enjoyed the swings and some more drinks on the patio. It was comfortable and fun!

The outdoor patio is well decorated and offers a beach bar type of vibe with swings and a sandpit. Inside there are 2 bars, making service pretty fast, but there were a couple of small glitches, like my tab not transferring from one bar to the next and the frozen drinks not being ready. There's also a pool table and ample dance floor. Lots of tv's inside and out would make this a great place to take in the latest sporting event. The food menu is pretty comprehensive and my food was really good, salmon croquette sliders and loaded waffle fries. The service was EXCELLENT! Bartending staff was wonderful as was the food staff. I could definitely see making this place a regular hang out and its proximity to the Levee makes it a nice place to close the night.
