This Boomers in Vista (San Diego) is awesome! -They have a 2 story arcade -They have bumper boats -They have race cars (need to be 58" to drive by yourself but they also have cars for 2 people) -They have batting cages -They have laser tag -They have a large free parking lot My favorite thing about this Boomers is: -They have the most amazing mini golf! They have 2 mini golf courses: 1) pirate themed and 2) castle themed and both of the courses are really well maintained and have really cool features and tons of different obstacles. They have water features, the pirate course is 2 stories tall, they have really interesting holes, it's not just turf they have imitation sand and water and "rough" - the mini golf is really great here! I will gladly drive down from Orange County to come here to San Diego County because this Boomers is great! Just be warned they don't open until 11am on Sundays.

You get mini golf, lazer tag, go carts, bumper boats, arcade, batting cages and a sunburn. And maybe hand foot mouth. Can we PLEASE get an out door bathroom and places to wash hands?! I really think there should be a family pass, but it's $50/person for unlimited activities which is pretty pricy, but I guess it's better than an hour in an escape room. For $150 you can get an entire annual membership to any museum....plus lunch. It's just super expensive. Probably won't go more than a couple times a year, but it's fine. There was 5-10 min wait for all the rides we went on and we did the whole park in 6 hours! Love that it's just one giant loop so you don't get lost or miss anything! Here's what we did in 6 hours: Went on 8 rides (Little Dino Trail, Dino River Explorer, Queen Watevr's Carousel, The Express Train, Jr. Driving School, Launch & Land, Lego Deep Sea Adventure, & Ninjago the Ride!) My daughter also spent ~20 min in the splash pad at Lego Movie World. We also stopped for the famous Apple Fries which were good but I wouldn't get them again. And we ate lunch at UFO (Ultimate Food Outlet) where we got Birria Tacos, a pizza kids meal, and chicken quesadilla kids meal. They were very flavorful and the kids meals came with freeze dried strawberries, a juice box, and a bag of chips. We ended the day at MiniLand USA, making boats at the Build A Boat station and even went to Sea Life Aquarium which was included in our tickets. Overall, we all had fun and made so many core memories!

Or, in our case, we chose to wrap up the summer fun with something simple, nice, and close to home--so we headed to The Wave Waterpark in Vista. This local staple has been around since before I can remember, and returning as an adult brings back a wave of nostalgia. We walked right in without any hassle, and the restrooms and showers near the entrance were fairly clean and convenient. We reserved a private cabana, which I highly recommend for a cool, hassle-free home base during a long day in the sun. There are four water slides and all of them are a blast, featuring clear intensity ratings on the signage so you know what you're getting into before heading up. My whole family loved every slide, though surprisingly, my son said his absolute favorite spot was simply splashing around in the main pool. While slide wait times were smooth and efficient, the line to snag a free single tube for the lazy river can get jammed. We rented a double tube and a single tube directly, which saved us a ton of extra waiting. Standard theme park fare like pizza and nachos are available, but the real winning treats to beat the heat were the Dippin' Dots and root beer floats. Now, there's just too many inside and everyone is rushing to be the first one to view the sea life animals. Overall the kiddos and I enjoyed it, and there is an area to touch the star fish, etc which is highly popular and a washing station. They have a tank filled with sharks, you see them swim above you as you walk through this tunnel. Time well spent with the fam here.

The ride is basically Legoland's answer to Disney's Jungle Cruise ride. You go around in a boat while the 'skipper' tells really bad puns about what you're looking at. Each skipper will give their own little spin on things, but generally they're all going off the same script so there isn't really a need to go on the ride multiple times for unique experiences each time. Some of the animation on the ride is broken. For example the massively impressive giant octopus & band was completely frozen last time we were there when usually it comes to life as the boat comes back to the dock at the end of the ride. Getting this animations back up and running consistently would be a huge improvement on this ride. But as it stands, the ride just sits there as a fun ride not living up to its intended and true potential.
