My family was going to be gone for a few days and the house was a disaster - it had not been cleaned in a couple of weeks. There was dust and pet hair everywhere. The whole place needed a reset and I did not have the time to do it. I reached out to book to clean and they quickly got two very highly skilled cleaners to my house. They did an amazing job and left the place sparkling clean, like a couple of magical cleaning fairies! I'm thinking about asking them to come on a more regular basis to keep the place fresh and clean. read more

I write this review after booking a deep clean (for a move-in) on our brand new (never lived in) home. We specified one area of concern was for the cleaner to make sure to wipe down all the dust on the insides of the cabinets and appliances, as well as the usual items. After Katherine labored for 8 hours on our home, I felt satisfied initially and tipped her well. The next day, as my wife and I were putting away our dishes on our newly cleaned cabinets, we noticed that the insides hadn't been wiped down at all. Interestingly, when Katherine was done with her work, I specifically asked her about the insides of the cabinets and she said that she had vacuumed and wiped the insides down. I've included pictures of the dust. You be the judge. I spoke to her again today and she again confirmed that she wiped down the insides. Strange that some of the cabinets had loose nails on the shelves that were left untouched from the install, and two of the drawers had items (warranty booklets for the appliances etc) in them that were left untouched. Now we wonder about the quality of the clean in the rest of the house and will likely book with another company for a thorough move-in clean. I spoke to Jay, the owner, about this. He put Katherine in touch with me who offered to come by and fix what we found, but we do not wish to have Katherine come back for a touch up clean as we feel that she was dishonest the first time. For what it's worth, Jay is refunding us the additional fees we paid for the insides of the appliances and cabinets that weren't done. He also offered us an additional refund, but I declined any more because I'd rather have the fodder to write this review then to save a few more dollars. Who knows, maybe we got unlucky with our experience, as it seems that many others have had a positive experience. No one is perfect, but we don't like to be lied to. read more

Book to Clean - This is me wiping down the inside of one of our drawers...which we paid additional fees to have cleaned. - Home Cleaning Near Me

I called in on a monday at noon to get the discount and they didn't answer the phone. . That's my first sign that something is wrong. The owner calls back an hour later.. mumbled some excuses about how he woke up on the wrong side of the bed or something. . Ugh. OK I don't care about your personal life buddy. They send over his cleaner ladies later on Monday and they are so rude!!! They acted like it was a chore to be there.. omfg of course it is I'm PAYING FOR IT. Then the worst part they break my father's urn. It was sitting on the mantle and I'm in tears. There's. Ashes. EVERYWHERE. and I'm hysterical. .. next thing I know they are vacuuming my poor father's ashes. back on the phone I calls the boss.. and he laughed at me and said I must be JOKING. He said sorry we aren't insured or bonded, and what can you expect when I asked for budget service. YOU ARE THE ONE WHO PUT THE DISCOUNT ONLINE OMFG. THAT'S RIGHT. THAT'S WHAT HE SAID. NO APOLOGIES. HE INSISTED I CALL MY HOMEOWNERS INSURANCE OH MY. GOOOOOOD. read more

I'm really happy with how my house was cleaned and am totally satisfied with the cleaner who did the work, Stephanie. 4 stars because the agency called me 2.5 hours into the clean to tell me the cleaner probably couldn't finish and I should pick my biggest priorities from the list of what I wanted done. The thing is I booked a 5 hour "move-in/move-out" deep clean since we hadn't scrubbed it in a while. The list was simple- clean the rooms, clean the appliances, dust the baseboards, that kind of thing. And the cleaner told us our place wasn't nearly as bad as most she cleans. So why did the agency tell me she couldn't finish? Because they wanted to book her for a job in Folsom that started an hour or two before ours was scheduled to be completed. Thankfully Stephanie told them she could only do one and stayed a little extra to finish ours. I had to be at work the day of the clean, so this was stressful while multiple phone calls back and forth went on to figure it out. Not necessary. read more

Apparently those that have one-time cleanings really like their services, however, if you are going to have them do it on a regular basis (in my case it was bi-weekly), then they SUCK big-time. I already knew what I wanted: bi-weekly 3-4 hours preferably on a Thu or Fri, but was flexible. The very first time they were scheduled to come out they had to reschedule because the person that was suppose to do my house had something come up. When she came finally came out she did just an ok job. How the hell hard is it to get someone to come out at the same time every two weeks? It seemed like every week they were scheduled to come out they would call me to ask if they could postpone. I have 2 little dogs who are pretty chill once they've met you once or twice, but they were trying to send different people out and that didn't work for me. I was having to move around my schedule or fly home from work at lunch to meet the new person. The last straw was that my cleaner missed the Thu she was supposed to come out so they booked it for the next Thu (I wanted bi-weekly and it was going on 3 weeks without my house being tended to). The cleaner was scheduled for 11:30, texted me saying she'd be there st 1:30pm and when I got home at 5:45pm it looked as if she just got there! All I want to do when I get home from work is relax but I had to take my 3 year son and leave the house to get out of her way. When I left the kitchen, living room and big family room were not touched and she claims she did 4 hours and left the house at 6:30pm. Whatever. I feel ripped off and the last cleaning job sucked! Do not use them if you want consistency, reliability, and honesty. Bad business....I'm done! read more

First off, the owner of this company, Jay, is amazing!! His follow through with returning my calls, answering questions, and keeping me informed--along every step--was SO appreciated! The cleaning team was professional, and courteous. I'd left a list for them, and they completed that and so much more! They even folded our pet's blankets! Best service I've ever received from any housekeeping business! I'll use them again for sure! read more

The process can't be any easier! I went online, chose the date and the services I wanted, and immediately there was a quote - no waiting for a day for a quote like other services! Then on the date of the service, the team showed up and did a wonderful job. After the service, the owner Jay called to make sure things were good. The end. The team was very courteous. They were running early, and they called to ask if they can come earlier. Of course! Then they explained to me what they were going to do and went on to do a wonderful job cleaning some fairly dirty sinks and floors. I am definitely using Book to Clean again to get some monthly or quarterly cleaning done again. I can't say enough good things about them! read more

We needed a cleaner to deep clean my home and have it ready to show. The tenants that lived in it before left the house a disaster. I contacted a few places and Book to Clean's rate was the most reasonable. Because of setbacks with our remodeling, we had to change our date on them numerous times. Jay was friendly and understanding each and every time. He was also very professional and upfront about costs. There were no hidden fees and the house turned out exactly the way we expected. They cleaned inside the fridge, oven, and even the garage. The cleaners also went so far as to send us before and after photos because we could not be there ourselves. How awesome is that! I would without a doubt refer Book to Clean to anyone in need of one time or weekly cleaning services. read more

I have attempted to schedule 3 separate cleaning in the past few months.. First cancellation company called to say the cleaner was sick.. Totally understandable.. Second cancellation company called to say cleaner was running 1 hour late.. Today 1:25pm cleaner called to say she was running 1 hour late for a scheduled cleaning at 1:30pm.. At this point I'm done... My plan was to let the cleaner into my home and head off to work at 2pm.. I know life happens but I would prefer to deal with a cleaning service that doesn't cancel or call to report they are running 1hr late 90% of the time.. read more

The ladies did an amazing job. I hired mothers cleaning co-op to clean the house we just bought and they charged me twice as much, took longer, and only got through 3-4 rooms. Book to clean came in after them at half the price, a smaller team and less time and actually cleaned my whole house so that we could move in. They went above and beyond and I plan to use them again. read more

Would give zero stars if I could. Scheduled a deep cleaning for a move out. Gave them all the information about the house. They sent one lady who started cleaning. After about 30min, the office calls me and says that the cleaning lady won't be able to finish in 3 hours. Which was fine, I stated if she could just do what she could in the 3 hours and I would take care of the rest or I would pay extra for her to stay longer. The receptionist then tells me that the cleaning lady has already left and they wouldn't be cleaning my house. I have to give my landlord the keys tonight. They put me in a tough spot. First off, don't send one lady to do a deep cleaning/move out service and expect her to clean in 3 hours. But even if she couldn't finish in 3 hours, why couldn't she have just done what she was able to before she had to leave? Very unprofessional. read more

We had a great experience with book to clean. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is I was unclear about exactly what "common areas" where covered when booking. Everything we wanted clean was covered (living room, halls, play area, office, dining area) but I would have felt more confident knowing up front. We also had two minor complaints (which I wouldn't have noticed prior to cleaning), there was some spotting on the floors after mopping and the wood cleaner left our table greasy so we had to re-wipe quick. They have a 100% satisfaction guarantee so we could have called the cleaner back but it was quicker (5min) just to touch up a few spots. After scheduling our service online (very easy) we received 2-3 confirmations and reminders about our upcoming appointment. The cleaner showed up promptly and did a very through job cleaning our 3/2 house. She was onsite for more than 4hrs and worked a few areas that really needed some TLC including the kitchen cabinets. I will definitely go back to Book to Clean for future cleanings, it's a really nice way to take some chores off our plate when prepping for a family event. We even received several remarks - "with two cats and a kiddo your place is so clean." Yeah, we know ;-). read more

We have used Book to Clean a few times now, on days before we are having guests over and once for a move-out deep cleaning and are very satisfied with their services. Tamara is always on time and extremely thorough - we were so impressed every time we got home. Stephanie came for our move-out cleaning and was able to get hard water stains off of our shower that have been there for years, and was very detailed in making sure every single thing got done and every surface was cleaned. The owner/manager is very friendly too. There have been a couple instances where I've had to follow up on my booking request sent on their website, but he always responds immediately, and offers a solution if Tamara is unavailable on the time we requested. We will definitely keep using them for our new house. read more

Esteban and his wife did a great job cleaning my parent's house. It was great to see my mom finally relax for once, and I finally get someone else to clean my room too :P . But jokes aside it was a great maid service. They cleaned my room and looked after my stuff. I felt really secure having them clean my home. Talking to them you can really tell that they care about the job they do and want to make sure you have happy with the cleaning they give. I scheduled the cleaning for my mom on their website too, which was really straight forward. Great job guys! read more

I haven't had my cleaning done yet, but I have had a terrible time with the booking process. In short; my original appointment was moved, the appointment I was moved to was canceled, I asked them to hold an appointment for me while they sorted out their scheduling issues and when they called me back I was offered a different time and day than the one I asked them to hold for me. This has been a frustrating process to say the least and it gives me concern about hiring them in the future and the quality of their service. Given my concern, I called them again to ask them to send me an email confirmation to ensure that my appointment was booked and while on the call I found out that they wrote my email address incorrectly, so had I not called I would have never received the email confirmation. To make matters even worse when my email confirmation arrived the time was different than what I had agreed to on the phone so I called back to see what the problem was. They informed me that their schedule indicated that my time was for the time we agreed upon and that the manager (Jay - I think) included the wrong time in the confirmation email. Had I relied on the time emailed to me without calling to triple check I would have missed my appointment by an hour. If you decide to book with them you might have to call several times to get things right. That has been my experience thus far. They definitely seem to be struggling with accuracy and I am worried about their ability to be reliable. YIKES! Will let you know how the actual cleaning goes. Update: I am very pleased to say that the cleaning service was excellent! My home feels fresh and clean and personally cared for. The woman who cleaned my home arrived on time and immediately began with the work. read more

Booked a cleaning because I was moving into another home and leaving my rental. I was renting and most certainly didn't believe i'd get my deposit back. The job performed by their staff was outstanding. I went out of town and the next day I came home this house was spotless. It was cleaner then when I received the house. This was March and guess what they got my full deposit back. I would recommend them they are very discrete and fair priced which is great for my wallet in summary if you ever need a deep clean these are your guys! read more

I live and work from a two-bedroom apartment that is also home to little kids and pets. I do a pretty good job cleaning up after us all, but sometimes I get a little behind and wish I could hit a reset button that would give me a fresh start on cleaning. That's exactly what I got from Book to Clean. It was incredibly easy to book, reschedule, and confirm my appointment. The two people who cleaned my place were incredibly polite, professional, and competent - they were awesome! They surprised me by delivering far greater service in less time than I had imagined. Seriously, the whole place was spotless in about 2 hours! The whole experience was so satisfying that I will definitely be using Book to Clean the next time I need a fresh start on my regular housekeeping. read more

The minimum purchase was 3 hrs at $90, and my kitchen was getting WAY gross, so I decided to take the plunge on my first cleaning. Our first appointment was postponed the day before due to the cleaning lady's very recent injury (pulled chest muscle). The appointment was rescheduled to 3 days later, which worked out fine. The same lady showed up for the cleaning who had been injured a few days prior. When I got home, she had wiped down all the appliances, cleaned the counter, cleaned the stove, washed the fingerprints off the pantry door, cleaned the sink, wiped the walls, moved everything off the floor to sweep and mop, and put everything back again. The floors have never been so clean in my memory. Maybe she'd have had more time for a couple more tasks if she hadn't been recently injured, but I definitely felt like I got my money's worth. read more

Super easy to book, great price, great customer service. We had a move out cleaning, and I was already out of town for the actual cleaning, but my mother-in-law was there to oversee (and she is a *serious* stickler for cleanliness), and she pronounced the apartment "clean as a whistle" upon completion. Thank you so much! I would suggest Book to Clean to any of my family and friends in the area -- plus I hope they open an office down in the bay area so I can take advantage of the great service again. read more

This was my first time using a cleaning service. I opted for a one-time clean with the price based on the number of bedrooms and bathrooms (versus hourly). Sonja came promptly carrying all her supplies. I was impressed she was able to find my apartment without having to call me (it's a sizeable complex with apartment numbering that makes no sense). She did a great job including cleaning my fridge (it's an add-on service for an additional $20). I didn't tell my husband I had hired a cleaner but when he came home, he immediately suspected that I had hired a professional cleaner. We are very happy with the results and will consider using this agency on a weekly or bi-weekly basis once we move in the near future. Since I now know what to expect, I will consider opting for the hourly service versus the pricing based on home size. read more

I used Book To Clean for a my move out cleaning for my apartment. I setup the cleaning last minute, got a confirmation call from Jay that very night (cleaning was scheduled for the next day, so at first I thought it was a long shot). Very satisfied with the service and I hope they will be servicing the SF area soon. Good job Anna and thank you Jay! read more

I don't know what's going on.... We have had bi-weekly cleanings set up here for several months now. We have had mostly good experiences with the company, customer service over the phone is sometimes lacking, (basically one girl is very helpful and friendly and the other one is not) but I can overlook that based on the amazing service we have had from our cleaner, we love her! But she cleaned our house over 2 weeks ago but never showed up the next time. I always get reminder emails several days in advance and that never happened.... I have called and left voicemails on two different days and not even a call back to say what's going on!!!! Very frustrating!! Would just be nice to know if I need to find a different company, although it will be very hard for us to part with Janna. read more

Needed a one-time clean right around the Memorial Day weekend. I didn't realize this was a very popular weekend for house cleaning... Book to Clean was one of two agencies that even called me back and was the only one able to get me an appointment within the week. My cleaner showed up on time and did a great job. Payment was handled online (although no option to add a tip, that would have been exceptionally convenient) and I was able to check in on my booking process through my account at any time. read more

These guys are great! I used them to clean my place in Davis and they left it spotless. I booked the cleaning online where I could easily see the cost, and they sent a team of cleaners. My place just needed a regular cleaning, and it looked terrific afterwards. The cleaning team also let me know that they were willing to come back for free if I see anything they missed, which showed they value their customers. They vacuumed all of my carpets, cleaned the cabinet doors, kitchen surfaces, tiles, the dinning table, they cleaned all of my bathroom including the inside of my toilet, dusted my ceiling fans, etc. If I move back to the Sacramento area I will definitely use them again. Esteban and Janet did an awesome job cleaning our home. I booked on short notice, I wasn't even sure that they would be here. My teenage daughter's room is pretty much trashed all the time, and she was very impressed that they put her space back in order and clean.
