Another one of my favorite taco spot in nyc! Specializes in carnitas tacos, but the best part is…read morethat you can choose the cut of pig you would like. Ex. They have tongue, ribs, pork belly, etc! & the surtida taco is a mixture of all the different parts. The concept is you order first & then they call your name. There's a topping bar with salsa , onions, cilantro, lime, which you help yourself with! (Btw less is more!) there's seats in front & a couple more in the back, but overall pretty small & won't be able to sit large parties. great decor throughout! I really want to try their sister restaurant( taqueria rameriz) now!!

Located in the East Village, they serve primarily pork. There's some seating in the front on a nice day with additional seats in the back. They have an amazing toppings bar for you to customize the taco your way. We ordered the surtida, costilla, and chicharron tacos. We also got the guacamole and side of chicharrones. The surtida was the best. I also highly recommend the side of chicharrones with the guac. Overall the food is pretty legit. They happened to be filming something today and the camera folks were pretty annoying getting in the way and oblivious to it. Otherwise, I would really recommend coming.

I'll just say it: best tacos in the world. Completely subjective, I know -- but Los Tacos No. 1…read moremakes it hard to argue otherwise. The ingredients are fresh, simple, and clearly quality. Tortillas are made to order right in front of you, and the whole experience just feels authentic and joyful. I had the steak and pork tacos, my friend got chicken -- we went back for a second round. That says everything. A few tips for first-timers: -- Don't sleep on the quesadillas. Seriously. -- If you like crispy tortillas, order the tostada -- they deep fry it and the result is incredible. -- Get the Horchata. It's not overly sweet and pairs perfectly with the tacos. The staff is 10/10 friendly and efficient. Don't be intimidated by the line -- it moves fast. Case in point: on a rainy morning, there was already a line at 11:01 AM (the place opens at 11). People know what they're doing here. The atmosphere is relaxed. They have nice, authentic music playing at all times. Highly, highly recommend.

I'm a native southern Californian and I was absolutely delighted at the quality of this Mexican food. After you order you give your ticket to the cook and they make your taco fresh, allowing you to get all the toppings or choose your toppings. It's really spacious, with high top rectangular tables for quick eating and some sit-down tables.

What sold me was the michelada made with Valentina and draft modelo negra, at a super reasonable price in comparison to other bars. We ordered that, along with a chili marg and two tacos to start. We enjoyed it so much we went back for another two menu items. -The carne asada taco is delicious, tender steak and juicy -The shrimp taco is amazing, this one might be my favorite. The slaw on it is crunchy and adds texture. -The tuna tostada is my boyfriend's favorite. I think it could use some salt or extra flavoring. It's very mild in flavor but the freshness makes up for it. -The chicken taco was just okay, nothing crazy. There are better options for sure. - chili marg is delicious, just a little disappointing how small the cup is. - michelada is exactly as it should be ! Service was a delight, Elizabeth at the front was a pleasure to speak with, she even recommended things and welcomed us for our first time. The ambiance is cute and street vibes. There's tables to sit and to stand and eat. Music is a vibe. We came back another time for cinco de mayo and got the mushroom taco which is mind blowing. We also tried the agua Santa, which we tasted alone and then added the chili marg into it. Overall we loved everything about it. Including the lil Chicharron they have at the self serve station, next to the sauces. Which by the way the darkest sauce is DELISH. I recommend this place. The only thing is 7$ for one taco is crazzzzyyyyyyyy. I'm just happy to support the workers I see while I wait for my food. They all seemed happy to be there.

It was still fairly busy inside, but it was mostly people grabbing to-go orders. After ordering I snagged a spot at the counter. There's extremely limited seating, so I wouldn't bank on eating at the restaurant when it's busy. Be prepared to take your food to go. I got the Nene's Deluxe, which comes with a taco, a mulita, and an empanada - all with Birria of course. It was all delicious. The mulita was at the bottom of the box and got completely soaked with Birria. It was extremely messy to eat. Get plenty of napkins. I also got a side of fries and nacho cheese, because it was a long week and I deserved it. They had a seasonal strawberry horchata as well. This was okay. I also think I might just not love horchata in general. This meal definitely hit the spot. The Birria and consommé were top notch. I would return in a heartbeat.

I tried something different than my usual and went with the Adobada Tacos (Pork Al Pastor). The meat itself was spicy and a little rough, which leads me to believe it was maybe old meat. Instead of cubed, the pineapple was shredded which offered a nice touch. Unfortunately the actual taco got soggy by the time I ate it so I just picked out the meats and pineapple. There is plenty of avocado green sauce placed on top, which moving forward, I will request to be on the side to prevent the taco from getting soggy. Overall I probably should just stick to what I know/like so I'm willing to give this location another shot!
