My very first bonsai!
Peg C.

The Hubs and I learned how to wire and shape our first bonsai here through a workshop by the Puget Sound Bonsai Association (PSBA). It was such a great experience. Helpful staff and an excellent selection of bonsai, planters, and accessories. When we're ready to buy more bonsai someday, we will buy them here.

Went straight from the near by airport and checked out this awesome bonsai nursery. Their pot selection is vast and very reasonably priced. Well worth your time. I'll go back next time I'm in town

Good selection of starter bonsais, good selection all around. Prices were decent too. Bought a Japanese maple there today. Will be frequenting this spot for all my bonsai needs.

Beautiful new bonsai from Bonsai Northwest.

Amazing shop with a huge selection of bonsai! As a bonsai novice, I appreciated the sage advice to select a ficus if my bonsai would remain indoors year round (which it will!) I found a gorgeous ficus in a lovely blue pot for $95 for my boyfriend's birthday gift. There were so many to choose from that I was overwhelmed!

Made a 'call appt' to start the process. And they never called. Must be to busy for my projects…read more Got multiple emails confirming date and time from them. But no call. I know stuff happens. But they could've used their auto email system to cancel. In any event, I never use a contactor (for any project) that doesn't keep their first appt or notifies before just not calling or showing up. That always spells trouble. There are too many landscapers who want business. So I'll never call them or visit their nursery ever again. I believe it was Woody Allen who once said, "Just showing up is 90 percent of life." Todd's fails.

Negative five stars…read more Where to start... My wife and I visited this location back in February/March to purchase spring/summer flowers and get a quote for a large landscaping project, along with some recommendations. We spoke with a staff member about flowers suited for full sunlight. One of the recommended flowers is still thriving in October, but the other didn't survive more than a month despite following the care instructions. for the landscaping quote, that's where the problems began. We were told by the same staff member to speak with someone else, who wrote down an "appointment" on a sticky note and supposedly entered it into the system. The appointment was scheduled for the end of May. My wife and I took the day off work for the quote, but no one showed up--nor did anyone call. A few days later, my wife called to ask what happened. A different staff member said the person responsible would call back that day or the next--but again, zero contact. Fast forward to October, and we've never heard a word from Todd's Nursery. We've since handled our landscaping project ourselves, likely at a lower cost, and honestly, after witnessing their incompetence, we're glad we did. If this is how they handle quotes, we can only imagine how poor the actual service and timing would have been. Bottom line: complete lack of customer service, consideration, and professionalism. Don't waste your time requesting quotes from Todd's Nursery--look elsewhere for companies that value their customers and actually want to do business.

If you have even a bit of attraction to Japanese maples, you will wander around this nursery…read moreadmiring, and wondering how you can find another spot in your yard for all the variety. When it's time to choose, the owner will make you feel all the care and love that was put into growing them, as well as how you can have that same success with the ones you bring home. Not even a question where you should buy a Japanese maple from, local and very reasonable prices. This is worth the time and drive.

However, their prices are way to high and borderline ridiculous. I picked out two decent size maples one I was told was $400 and the other I was told $750. Nothing exotic just standard maples. The same maples I have bought from Home Depot for $130 bucks. Went a mile down the road and got a beautiful Butterfly maple from Todd's Nursery. It was about 8 feet tall and 4 feet wide and only paid $125 bucks for it. So if your looking for an exotic maple and don't mind mortgaging your home to get one this is the place to go. If your not looking for an exotic and want to save a whole bunch of money I'd recommend going somewhere else. Personally I will never return to this place for a maple!
