Love the convenience of the drive through- it's quick and efficient. It goes quickly and it's better than traditional fast food. I typically get the meat salads one or 2 to feed the family and some times extra meat on the side. My kids love the turkey, but not the turkey crust - I specifically ask for no crust and center cut turkey every time because even if the kids see it and I cut it off the crust it's not the same and likely they won't eat it. The kids and I had a greatest experience once again at our local Bono's. Our service was excellent. Miss Barbara was a kind and sweet woman who is very attentive and helpful. My son really enjoyed his cheeseburger and my daughter devoured that pulled pork kids platter. We were all very satisfied. My sliced turkey did not fail to satisfy me (it's my favorite thing on the item). However, my pulled pork was a little on the dry side compared to my past experiences here. Just had the worst pulled pork platter that I've ever had from a restaurant that I've been going to for 20 years. I've never had a complaint, until now. Pork was full of fat and gristle and seemed old because the edges were rubbery and awful. Told waitress while paying (she could see the pile of fat meat next to my plate), and she offered to send me home with more, but the thought made me ill and may have put me off of pulled pork forever! After paying my 20 bucks (still hungry) I went and told the "pit boss". He shrugged his shoulders and said "sorry". Really?! I ordered a small pulled pork platter for $9.99 and the portion was so generous! It came with two sides (I got green beans and sweet potatoes) and garlic toast. The pork wasn't dry at all and if you squeeze some of that 1949 original sauce on the pile of meat, it becomes finger-licking delicious! I made a makeshift dessert with my sweet potatoes by lathering it with the cinnamon spread that came with the dish. So good! We also had a pulled pork sandwich. Both sandwiches were packed with tender meat. I also had a side of Brunswick stew. It contained a collection of beans, blacy eyed peas, corn and had a soupy broth. Never had it like that but it was good and healthy. Just the right amount of salt. The Macaroni was thick and flavorful. There were 5 or 6 sauces from Original to hot. Pretty solid spot for BBQ. We ordered a large amount of takeout for dinner last night. For starters everything was nicely packaged so the meals were still warm and nicely presented when we got home. The portions were huge and they gave us a lot of different sauces to try with the meals. My pulled pork sandwich was huge and very tender, the original bbq sauce was a great addition to thiS. Had the beef brisket lunch today and it was fantastic! (Not a great pic on my part, I forgot and started eating before I took the photo) It was juicy, tender and had a great smoky BBQ flavor. You can't go wrong with Bono's for a BBQ lunch or dinner. The sweet tea is excellent and for less sugar order the half sweet half unsweetened blend. The fried okra was slightly overcooked but excellent and not too greasy. The BBQ pork sandwich is plenty of pork sliced thick with minimal fat and serviced on grilled Texas toast. You have a choice of 4 sauces at the table, I recommend the original mustard based sauce. I chose the green beans and Brunswick Stew for sides. The green beans are tender with bacon which gives an excellent flavor you'd expect from a southern BBQ restaurant. The Brunswick stew is full of meat and veggies and is one of the better Brunswick Stews I've tried. If you want top notch BBQ and the authentic southern BBQ experience check out Bono's. read more

As a southern girl I am quite picky about my barbecue. Bono's hit it out of the park! Thank goodness I ordered the pulled bbq platter and not the sandwich - they were huge. If you don't eat a lot you might want to share or order something you'd eat the next day. i not only loved the mustard based barbecue sauce, but their sides were up to par as well. They had some of the best collards I've had in a while. We had a larger group, but they accommodated us almost immediately. (We were in about an hour before closing on a week night, so I can't comment to their rush hours.) Our waitress was helpful and polite. Ok so this is more of a whine than a complaint. I know, I know someone will tell me to call 1-800-WAAA. I like ketchup with my French fries, I like butter in my grits and I like BBQ sauce with my BBQ. I asked for two types of sauce with my online order. The bag was neatly sealed with a sticker and a knot when I arrived. Surely since the order was typed and at 8:30 pm there were no dining guests in the restaurant they wouldn't over look the precious gold they call bbq sauce? As Homer Simpson would say, DOH! I went With the small pork barbecue plate with baked beans and coleslaw. The BBQ was great. Tasty and smoky. It really did not even need sauce. I went with the sweet sauce and mustard sauce. This place is truly terrible. Just got a salad with wilted, slimy greens. Looked to be about a week old. The time before this I was shorted the meat in my order. Lady at the window says "I put it in your bag" in a snide voice. I then have to proceed to prove it to her that they did not include the meat and had to deal with her terrible attitude the whole time. It was kind of hard to see, but it seemed like he was leaning over the counter having a conversation with someone, no big deal right? Took him over 5 minutes just to come to the window and didnt even apologize for the wait and they were not busy. Then to top it off, he gave us the wrong sauces and no plastic ware. I went back to work and couldn't even finish my meal. How am I supposed to eat green beans with no spoon or fork? In addition, restaurants need to have some other storage for fries to go because now I have soggy fries and food without the sauce I wanted. Please stop putting fries inside a container!
