Of all the many rants I put my friends through my biggest has to be the importance of keeping it local - retaining some originality and independence in the high street.
Bonjour Bakery is the sort of place I love. They've been in the game for many years now getting up well before the milkman to start their baking process. Homemade recipes and years of experience have resulted in some truly delicious sweets and savouries. The Sausage Rolls and the sandwiches, for example, melt away to make room for the meringues and the Chelsea Buns. Builders, students and old age pensioners all make up the numbers around here and all are more than happy to empty Bonjour's shelves every day.
