This IGA - aside from being amazing in all the ways I described in my original review - seems to be setting the standard for how to properly operate under the current conditions so I wanted to share in the hopes of other grocery stores following their lead. When you arrive here, all the doors are closed except for one and when you enter that one there's a portable handwashing station like you'd see outside portopotties at a festival. So everyone is washing their hands as they enter. Then they are given a cart which has just been wiped down by the staff. Staff are also circulating wiping down the handles of fridge doors etc. Cashiers are using sanitizer between every customer and as you leave your cart is immediately wiped down again. This loving attention will save lives in our community and I really really appreciate it.

The store is on the bus route and has a stop right at the front entrance. We stayed in the Old Village, less than a five minute walk to the store, so for us it was heaven sent. We were impressed at the quality of their food and most of all, their cheeses. They have a wide selection of ready-to-warm items which came quite handy as after a full day of skiing, there is little energy left to engage in from-scratch cooking. Staff is helpful, courteous and knowledgeable. Overall, a most convenient, and well stocked place.

The Saint Sauveur location is a star child of this facelift. You're entering a 64,600 sq. ft. showpiece that is bright, well lit and spacious. Upon entering you'll first notice a massive patisserie counter with cupcakes, macarons and other gourmandises. Fresh produce will be a few steps behind. The new concept has a selection of "boutiques" along the perimeter, like a deli counter, charcuterie, oyster/shrimp bar and cheese counter with the prettiest 2 feet tall glass fridge containing an impressive array of local and imported cheeses. There is also a Joe Fresh collection of apparel for adults and children. The Loblaws/Provigo brand excels in going above and beyond to turn grocery shopping into an experience. The food is premium and gourmet, sampling stations are delish. Everything was taken into consideration, there's nothing boring or traditional about this store, even the floor is a popping orange. To make your shopping trip more enjoyable, the couple times I went over the holidays, they had a live jazz band playing! To this day it's her favourite salad dressing and we try to buy a case (of 12) twice a year! They have an excellent produce selection, seafood, cold cuts, and cool sauces and house brand Farm Boy brand + and excellent bakery! I've noticed they have boned up on prepared foods and have one of the biggest selection I have seen on K-cups for Keurig! La Gare de Montebello) where there's also tourist information, ChocoMotive has a great selection of artisanal gourmet chocolates! (Btw, they also have a Transfair Canada license signifying they use only certified fair trade organic sugar and cacao. ChocoMotive also doesn't use soy lecithin. There's a window to view their chocolate production facility too! ChocoMotive definitely is also riding the "Pistachio is the new Hazelnut" trend, with their own Dubai Chocolate with different types of chocolate. The Metro feels way more like a family grocery store than the ginormous Super C on the highway and if I need to pick up a few quick things after working in the Couleur cafe I'll pop over here. The produce and meats and fish seem fresh, though I'd love to see more of an emphasis on local sustainable providers. Fish in particular should always be clearly marked with its origin since this industry is so dirty and problematic these days. The staff are super friendly and bilingual for the most part, and again this grocery has a surprisingly good selection of local microbrews and then the usual SAQ wines. All in all a great option in the area!
