If you like a lot of bread and not so much fish, then go to bonefish and order the fish and chips. It had a little bit of fish with a lot of bread. Also ordered the mussels, very disappointed in that as well, I went on to trying to find something that we would like and I ordered the corn chowder with crab. Not up to the standards of what bonefish used to put out for food, now they are just filling up a plate. not sure if I'd go back there to eat, I would go back to have a cocktail at the bar. We met a great person tonight, she will probably become a great friend. That was the best thing about our dinning out experience tonight. I do also have to comment on the service, service was great. While visiting family in Colorado last week, my friends and I decided to eat at bonefish. We had the pleasure of sitting in Taylor's section and he made our evening great! His recommendations were spot on, the imperial dip was delicious! We debated whether to get the 2 for 45 special when Taylor mentioned it, but in the end the filet and lobster won out, and oh m. G! We had a bonefish at home and I never went and Wichita Kansas is like king for chain food places in America. As we were contemplating where to go dinner this place came up and we decided to branch out and enjoy a meal here. I'm not a big seafood person but I do enjoy some food here and it was outstanding. We met up at 7:30 pm and enjoyed our time and service so much that we were here almost till close enjoying the weekday night as it continued. I loved it! The service was spectacular they were on top of their game. I love going out to dinner on a weekday night with friends verses weekends because I feel like you get a true personal experience with a restaurant. The food was perfect and super tasty from appetizers to the main dish. It was all well spaced out from the kitchen to table as well. The place was spectacular clean and great about refilling our drinks as well. We came on Christmas Eve around 6pm with a reservation and we still had to wait about 40 minutes. The hosts were super nice and they came around with samples of bang bang shrimp during our wait. We ordered the mussels and bang bang shrimp as appetizer. I have to say the mussels stole the show and would recommend dipping the free bread in the mussel sauce!! I ordered the mahi mahi with shrimp which was decent. The mahi was fairly plain even with the mango salsa. Although, the mashed potatoes, shrimp and broccoli were all excellent!! We eat here several times a year and always get takeout, the Bang Bang family tacos dinner. So good! Was disappointed the last time couple of time. Something is always wrong. This time we showed up exactly at the time it was supposed to be ready and after waiting for 15 minutes, we went inside to learn that our food was sitting there getting cold. No offer to make it right just the excuse their systems not working correctly. I'm not exactly sure how you can look an order that is ready and not think maybe somebody is waiting for it, not look outside and see if there's a car sitting in the curbside to go but whatever. This was a 442 pick up so it's not like it was a busy time. The food was good as usual, but needed to be warmed up. The time before this, they didn't put all the food in the bag. Yummm, my date took us here for dinner because I was feeling like fish. We had no trouble getting seats for a busy Wednesday evening. We got our yummy fresh bread and he ordered their blueberry mixed drink for us to try. I'd say the drink was quite tasty. The bread was super delicious too! I ordered the filet mignon with crab cake dinner and he ordered the ribeye. When the waiter brought our dishes I said 'I thought I ordered the mashed whipped potatoes?' She heard and said 'I can get you some if you'd like?'. I told her it was ok, but she kindly brought me some. I like how she thought. Our dinner was very delicious and we were both very pleased. My date was able to try the crab cake from my plate and thought that it was really good. Our dinner experience was great, the wait staff was good and attentive, and the food was definitely good. I took my sister for a birthday lunch on 03/22. She ordered the crab& avocado salad, she was disappointed she only had two small pieces of avocado and not much crab. She said it had great flavor, however you would think with a name like crab & avocado salad you would expect more than two pieces of avocado. This Bonefish Grill is perfect. It is easy to get to with a great ambiance. Sunday brunch is terrific. They offer bottomless sangria,mimosas or something else (can't remember). The food is always amazing and the service is friendly. You can tell they all work really well together. I recommend getting something with bang bang shrimp- tacos, benedict or by themselves. Sunday Brunch is better than Saturday lunch! Not only is the place less packed (went in at 11am, people are at church?), the menu options are more exciting. The first thing that caught my eyes was the Crème Brulee French Toast, I mean, how could I not, for brunch? Three big, fat, plump slices of eggy bread cut diagonally and strategically stacked on top of each other. The bruleed sugar crystals still visible on the crust. Served with two slices of bacon (placed criss-crossed, this dish is all about presentation!), strawberry and whipped cream, and a side of maple syrup. The toasts were plenty sweet so I dipped the bacon strips in the maple syrup, heh heh. Did I mention how good the house salad, house bread, and crab corn chowder were in previous reviews? If so, then they are worthy to be praised again and again, lol. The Kobe Beef Burger is something you'd last expect to be the least good, even with a fried egg on top, the patty (which was huge) was bland, lacked the juicy gloss immediately associated with a proper Kobe Beef Burger and sort of dry (Bonefish Grill's default is cook it to medium but we asked for medium-well; but still, it shouldn't be a sign to under season the patty!!!). Just to illustrate how bad it was, I had to ask for ketchup! That's right, even the homemade chips were under-seasoned. What's interesting about the Lump Crab Cakes appetizer is that it was super simple plating, just the two patties and a little dish of orange-colored dipping sauce. The crab cakes were plenty flavorful that I ended up using the sauce for the potato chips on the side of the burger. They were the real deal, lots of crab meat just like in the corn chowder. I'd order it again. Our waiter seemed slow at first (didn't even ask how we wanted the burger cooked) but he was very respectful, remembered our needs, and made a cute little drawing on my to-go box, I thought that was sweet! read more

Our last two experiences have been incredibly disappointing and my husband said tonight that he will not go back to this location because the service was so bad. We ordered the family bundle for takeout and arrived at the time specified. After taking payment, the host didn't know where our order was. After 10 minutes of "checking in the back" came out to say that the order on the counter was actually ours. We live 5 minutes away and ate as soon as it was home, but it was cold, the shrimp was overcooked, the tortillas were honestly as tough as cardboard. It was overall just terrible. Maybe it would be better if we dined in, who knows. Such a waste of money. read more

This is my favorite local restaurant. The food is always good, the service is great, the staff is attentive, and get the order right every time. If something is not right they immediately fix it. I can't say enough good things about this place. It's cozy, welcoming and my favorite neighborhood restaurant. I have taken family here from out of town and they always say how much better our Bonefish grill is compared to ones they've been to at home. We have loved the Bone Fish for years. Lately it has become just OK. My salmon was over cooked and the "seasonal" vegetable is always broccoli which was barely cooked and cold. There hasn't been much of or any imagination in the menu, even the specials seem to be re- cycled. The restaurant was slammed, guess we are back to "normal". I had a late lunch here. The place was almost empty given the time of day. The bread I got while waiting for the entree was the most disappointing. It wasn't crusty or flavored, just soft, basically white loaf bread. The dipping oil & spices was nice. I would have loved the brown bread at Cheesecake Factory or at least crusty bread. For the entree I had salmon with mango salsa. It was so delicious & a large portion too. For sides I got the house salad & spinach. I liked the citrus dressing on the salad but the artichoke hearts didn't really add anything to the salad & were mushy. On the other hand the pepitas added a pleasant crunch. The spinach was basically boiled spinach even though she said it was sautéed with garlic. I set it to the side after one bite & when the waitress noticed she asked if I'd like something else so I got the mashed potatoes. I appreciate that kind of service. Next time I'd get the salmon but change up the sides. read more

We had a 5:15pm reservation, arriving at approx 5:00PM. The check-in process was lengthy, taking another 10 minutes of standing in line. Upon check-in, we were informed they were already running behind and to expect to wait another 20 minutes past our 5:15PM reserve time. It's New Year's Eve so we accepted that a bit of patience was required. It's important to note that the restaurant was already at full capacity at 5:00pm, including bar seating. Standing room only for the 20 or so patrons waiting to be seated. The waiting experience is never fun but with a packed restaurant, we found ourselves being bumped around a bit like a pinball. The atmosphere was festive so we just went with the flow. We were committed to enjoying our evening, in spite of this flawed process. After 35-40 minutes of waiting, my wife had enough of being bumped and stepped on (she's petite) and worked her way thru the line to inquire how much longer they expected us to wait. Reception staff were already visibly frustrated. One said to my wife, "Don't even ask", so my wife asked the second staff member about the delay. Thankfully, we were seated almost immediately following my wife's inquiry. We could only smile at the reception staff as they had their hands full with frustrated guests. SERVICE: Once we were seated, the table service was OUTSTANDING! DRINKS: our bar drinks were some of the best we've had anywhere. Yes, they were THAT good. FOOD: our food arrived in a timely manner and would've been equally as outstanding as the service, if not or the fact that our daughters stuffed cod was cold in the middle. She invited me to test its temperature and she was right; it was cold. The next time our waiter came by we let him know and he apologized and said he'd take care of it. Within a minute, a manager arrived, also apologized and disappeared into the kitchen with the cold fish. Within minutes, the manager delivered a fresh, properly cooked stuffed cod and new garlic mashed potatoes plated on a fresh plate. The best sign of an outstanding business is how they handle problems and this Bonefish Grill stepped up and delivered an EXCELLENT dining experience. The ONLY reason I subtracted one star from this review was due to a flawed reservation process. Some people, not us, reported waiting over an hour past their reservation time. Some even gave up and waited for bar seating to open up. We understand it was New Years Eve, but the process was not equal to the outstanding table service and excellent food. Reservations come with an expectation of guaranteed seating in a timely manner. That simply didn't happen for us. -1 star. Bonefish Grill missed the mark on the initial customer experience but mostly made up for it by delivering outstanding table service, great drinks and excellent food. For that we are grateful and hope our next visit is even better. read more

This is the second time we visited. We thought surely after a couple of years the quality of the food would have improved. The second time is our last. This evenings meal: #1 - Cod Imperial -- Stuffed with shrimp, crabmeat, Mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses and lemon caper butter. On a scale of 1 to 5 rated a 2 for taste, the potatoes were too salty & it's a good thing it was a minuscule amount, broccoli was broccoli #2 - Lily's chicken -- Goat cheese, spinach, artichoke hearts and lemon basil sauce. This was a bit dry as I think the sauce was forgotten. Rice was very dry. Broccoli is broccoli no butter etc. One thumbs up was the house Chardonnay - it wasn't too bad. So I don't know whether this is endemic of this location or it's the whole chain but it makes me reluctant to ever ever ever go there again. Oops - Lastly, the women's toilets were disgusting - first of all one had excrement on the seat, the other one had some liquid(?) on the floor. Don't know about the third one it was occupied - second there is barely room to turn around. There are better and more tasty places to go for a good meal. read more

We waited forever between courses, and the server did not check in to see if we needed more cocktails, water, etc. The bill would have been more for her and her tip, as well as Bonefish Grills' bottom line, but she never checked in with us to see if we wanted "another round". We let her know we wanted dessert, but with few options available, she still took more than 15 minutes to check back with us on our orders. I got food poisoning from the lobster Imperial the other night. Buyer beware. I absolutely love the food at Bonefish, and this is the first bad experience I've ever had there. The manager that I spoke to suggested that it was too rich for me..... No, this was food poisoning and I will be in bed for Christmas. It's not a little case of indigestion (how condescending), and all the manager Shane could say, was that it's unfortunate. Tell that to my sore insides and my family who can't have Christmas this year. I had to cancel my client on Monday which cost me $350 at Christmas time. I take care of my ex-husband who is disabled and has dementia. I took him and his mom out for a holiday dinner. We are frequent fliers over there, however I'm very disheartened by the manager's response. Food poisoning is nothing to mess with when it comes to seafood. read more

Had lunch today..well not really. Ordered the fish and chips. After eating 1 very small piece.. discovered that my remaining 3small pieces were sitting in a pool of oil and the 10 french fries. Asked to talk to the manager..showed her the basket of oil...she asked if she could bring anything else.. I was so disgusted and said no and that for the 17$ price tag it was unacceptable. Same thing with my sister's meal. They went ahead and gave us a bill minus 20%. I wrote on the check that I couldn't believe they were charging us. Shame on the manager.
