I dont think I can come back here again, been here like 6 times...look the place is clean, the staff are smart and nice, booking is easy but they usually never take me on time and they charge insane amounts, maybe even slightly predatory. Last visit (today), i went in because my dog had diarrhea past 2 couples days and vomiting today and yesterday once. In my mind they would give him some canned food, probiotic/gel thing, and maybe test for parasites...how much could that be right like $250 max? Wrong. It was $561 for a bad tummy....$125 of that is to just see him/'consultation'. I could buy a phone or something else for that amount. I met the same vet before, she is nice, smart, caring and told me the prices upfront and showed me a list of tests and prices next to it but I'm not a medical person or vet, I just want my dog to get better, I was desperate to help my dog asap and I was already at the vet in the room...we agreed to do the lower end of tests too, no x-ray or bloodwork etc but still somehow $561. How or why? They probably added on a few more things than I needed. Hopefully insurance reimburses me some of that amount. I just can't go back here again, I'm going to go broke, make it make sense. You lost a good customer with your outrageous prices and over testing/treatments/upselling. Good bye and farewell. Only go here if you are very rich or got amazing pet insurance.

This is the paw that they supposedly clipped.

They do not care about your animal or their welfare. All they care about is getting wealthy clients so they can overcharge. Bond Vet is a horrible and possibly the worst business I have ever come across! They charged me for clipping my puppy's paws and did not do it. They also had me pay for two urinalyses unnecessarily. The manager was nasty and told me not to come back. Then they canceled the urinalysis which required a needle in my puppy's bladder and she may possibly even need medication.

    The rock!

Check all the Vets credentials before having your pet seen for the first time at any place. Ask questions. This is so so important.

They got my boy in for an appointment quickly, treated him gently (he is wildly anxious in the best of circumstances), and they treated me gently, too (also wildly anxious in the best of circumstances). They were clear, communicative, and Dr. Macri ensured I fully understood what was happening with my little friend and what next steps were. A week later, Gomez is back to normal. I know what to watch for, and if (god forbid) anything else happens, I'll be heading back to MHPH with full confidence my dog will be treated with kindness, compassion, and the best veterinary care available. Thank you to the doc and the entire staff. We are so lucky to have you!

Our 4 very senior poodles have been remarkably healthy throughout their lives. Shout out to Joan at the front desk as well, she always makes the wait in the waiting room less stressful.

So I called Midtown, and Dr. Suchanek let me come in immediately. And he could not have been lovelier -- let me sit and cuddle Mouse for the last time before the procedure, gave me as much time as I needed with him, then was so incredibly kind afterward... And his prices are shockingly reasonable, especially for Manhattan! Since then I've taken my younger cat in as well, and the doc has been really calm and thorough -- I've never felt rushed -- and he even called several times after, to check on how Scamp was doing. Also, it may seem like a small thing, but the office is clean, pretty, and peaceful. And even when I was terribly upset, the staff was super nice and patient. I've been to several other vets (and, lately, chains) in my decades of being a pet owner, and this is the first time I've wanted to write a review, because I'm just so grateful to have found them!

Called this place after doing an extensive search for a decently rated pet ER (not many around me). I am so thankful there is at least one, and they're open 'round the clock. Was placed in an examination room and was seen fairly quickly by a tech for vitals, followed by the vet (I swear I tried so hard to remember her name to give her a personal shout out but stress took away my memory). She was awesome. Thorough and caring. While nothing appeared to be an evident emergency, my cat was clearly suffering from something hurting him. Recommended course of action seemed slightly excessive, but this vet truly stepped up to help me out. I consented to an xray, which indicated constipation. Treatment included sub-q hydration, anti-nausea medication, and a laxative. Cat had never been poked and prodded so much in his life. But he was such a good boy, and thankfully never bit or scratched- just growled and hissed. I would have too, little buddy!! I truly, sincerely appreciate knowing my boy doesn't have any bowel obstruction or anything worse. Great relief that we'll manage with the laxative and hopefully he'll be good as new. Thank you to the Vet Tech and the assistant who were both so helpful and supportive (and whose names I also forgot). Great team. I really, really love that every staff member called my boy "friend" and treated him like their own.

I've gone back and forth over whether to write a review or not, but at the end of the day, this is about our besties, who for many of us are our children.. I wish someone had warned us about the lack of "heart" in "heart" of Chelsea, their irresponsible and incompetent care before we found ourselves in this position. On Saturday morning 1/13/24 my husband brought our dog to HOC with a fractured humerus. At first, things seemed great as they called around to find an option to get us to a hospital with a surgeon on call and recommended American Medical Center. Unfortunately, everything else that followed was unprofessional, unacceptable, and unbelievably upsetting. For whatever reason, someone at HOC told us to arrive at 4 a.m. to AMC and that his x-rays and records would be sent. At 8 p.m. I called AMC and they said they'd never heard of any individual being told by their vet (or any person) to come at 4 a.m. and couldn't understand why we were told to do that. They said that was highly irregular. At this point, we'd now lost valuable time since apparently there had been a surgeon on staff earlier and possibly could have gotten him on the schedule that day and now with it being MLK Day the following day, we'd likely not be attended to right away. They also had no X-Rays from HOC. (HOC would later put the blame on AMC, a 100-year old institution with a stellar reputation.) My husband was told at the time of the visit, "if we had questions or concerns, we should page the doctor on call and they'd be able to help. Not to worry." Awesome (in theory). After AMC said the info HOC gave us was incorrect and confusing, we called and paged the HOC doctor on call. And TWICE a person who did not identify herself called back. She had no idea who we were, what we wanted, why we were paging and after we explained everything and expressed our panic and concern, she not only provided us with no sense of security or any information of any kind at all, but she was totally dismissive, said she couldn't be of any help and hung up after less than 3 minutes with no answers. I can't imagine that was a doctor and if was shame on you. HOC's manager Jody later insisted that was the doctor we spoke to, which was even more worrisome to know that a doctor could act like a teen working the late shift at Taco Bell. Hoping the original doctor was right, we showed up at 4:30 a.m. And it was pointless. Had we gone after HOC, we could have gotten on a schedule, but instead lost a day. But I digress. our dog was taken in at that time. ... And we get told he may get surgery that day but most likely not. Later in the day the surgical team calls and said it'll probably be Monday or more likely Tuesday. WHAT!!! And we are left with a lot of questions and, being dog dads, left in anxiety-filled confusion. Here's where it goes from bad to the completely unacceptable and unconscionable. Again, we did what we were told to by the original doctor and paged the "doctor on call." A woman called back, and I explained everything. I was clearly a distressed dog dad and she literally told me "I don't know anything. I am only the person answering calls from 7 to 9. I can not be of any help. I don't have info. This isn't anything I know. Sorry. Bye." And I say this will all seriousness an no sarcasm intended, I have had more compassion, information and professionalism from the DoorDash delivery person about a food order than I did from your "on call" person over my canine child who was in an animal hospital ICU. Yet, as if it could not get any worse or more infuriating ... this morning we got a call from someone at HOC and my husband spoke to her this time. He explained everything and how we had just paid $10K and were told that the surgery could go to Tuesday or Wednesday and now and the response was, do you want me to call around to find you another hospital to go to. What the hell?! That was the sage advice and suggestion. Knowing we had now paid you $1,400, including $400+ for X-Rays that were never sent and had to be redone (essentially costing us $400), and knowing our dog was already in the ICU at AMC (where HOC suggested) and that we paid $10k, they thought having us go find a new surgical team at some other place in some other part of town, disrupt him and move in his fragile condition and pay another $10k (potentially delaying surgery further and potentially causing more damage to his injury and traumatizing him even more (not to mention the trauma we were already experiencing) was the wise, secure and sound medical advice you had to offer. We accepted years ago that choosing HOC meant paying a little more because the care was basic: shots, blood work and the occasional eye infection. I would not trust them with the care of any animal, and could never in good conscious recommend them to anyone.
