I have been eyeing Bond no. 9's products for a while now. Saw them in Sak's fifth a couple months back. But only was given a short window before I could decide what I wanted to buy. At Bond No. 9 on Bleecker St. I found some great help and insightful information about their products and their various lines that they carry. Alyssia was an amazing sales rep! She helped me hone in on which Colognes and scent profile I liked!! She was so knowledgeable about the base notes, and the popularity of the colognes in season! (Spring colognes, summer/beach collection). I came in liking the Scent of Peace for Him, and walked out having three other colognes I liked. (Wall st, Greenwich Village, Bleecker St.)... If it wasn't for Alyssia, I wouldn't have ever known about the other great scents that Bond No. 9 carries. She is super personable, and friendly. Really made the experience super pleasurable will definitely be back! And will walking out with bottles of cologne. Please ask for her!! read more

Oh how I love me some Bond No. 9. I visited this intimate store about three weeks ago with my husband. Sales girl Laura was so helpful in assisting me with finding the exact perfume that I wanted (the original Bond No. 9), but still let me and my husband smell just about everything they had to offer. I left the store with several samples and discovered that I also love Scent of Peace. I love having a beautiful and personal scent. read more

This is NOT a review of the fragrances/perfumes that this establishment sells. In order for me to write a review on that, I would need to buy first. And, in order for me to buy there, someone in the store needs to acknowledge my presence when I walk in and at least nod perfunctorily. No hi, no hello, no smile. I do understand that I look like an unlikely customer what with my hesitant entry strategy and being a bit shabbily garbed (this idiot is not going to spend $175 or higher on perfumes, which by the way makes me a wise man, actually). But, any trained salesperson would know that this is your best chance to sell. Come on, you need a lot more than skill and sweet talk to sell perfumes to Luca Turin than an olfactory simpleton like me. I spent about 5 minutes there. Longest 5 minutes of my life. Both the salespersons acted really pricey (to be fair, one of them was serving a customer but could've still smiled). Finally, I left and I do not think they even noticed. However, what really matters is I am pissed off and therefore you Sirs/Ladies, get a one star review. Well, almost. I suspect the fragrances might be really good. Thank you to the server at Morton's who told me that I HAD to visit Bond, stating that it may be a bit pretentious but that it was "pretentious and fabulous"!!! He was right, and it was amazing!! First, I was expecting a perfumery that sells lots of designer perfumes, but instead, Bond is a NYC based perfumery that makes its own perfume. Perhaps the most exciting line is the one that has a scent based on locations in NYC. For example, I went to visit the store and was asked about what scents I like. The salesperson lead me to the Highline perfume, of course based on NYC nature trail overlooking the Hudson. It had all of the scents I adore and was right up my alley. While Bond is pricey, you are getting a unique scent that you will most likely find no one else has. I live in NC and no one has even heard of Bond, but they all admire my Highline perfume. I feel that the price is an investment... an investment of smelling really, really, nice! read more

Love turned to like and then to loathing. When I first discovered the Bond No. 9 perfumery I was delighted with the perfumes and the stores. The customer service had always been good and the shops were fun and beautiful. The shops are still beautiful but the fun and fragrance are gone. The line itself has become strangely bloated and repetitive, something that can happen to any retailer. Worse, though, is the shopping experience itself. Like a previous reviewer, I was greeted with more of a snarl than a hello when I entered the Bleecker street store. It is a very small store with only a couple of employees on the floor. I got the once over and a quick dismissal. When I asked to sniff a couple of fragrances I received the death stare of bother. (because, I assume, there were two other people in the store). I wanted to purchase a couple of fragrances for friends (not necessarily from Bond) and asked for samples of 4 different kinds. Each time I asked the sales person demanded, "Did you even sniff it first?" Um, well, yes, I did. As far as I could tell the person decided which samples I would be gifted with and which I would not. Apparently they went with every other one of 4 (that would be 2). As I was sampling a few other fragrances another customer asked for one of the very samples I had asked for (and was told they were out) and was handed one. I turned to face the clerk so she could see I was standing right there, gave her the raised eyebrow and decided my money would be best spent elsewhere. PS One might ask, was I a rude shopper? Maybe too demanding? I would answer quite truthfully, you have to actually speak to a customer to decide if they are rude. read more

This used to be my favourite perfume (many of the different types) but I am saddened to have such negative connotations associated with this clever brand . When you buy a bottle, they invite you to send in a postcard to comment. I opted to call and/or email, but not all at once. Every contact and effort made by me has gone unanswered. Talk about terrible customer service. When I approached the store, excited to finally purchase it from the actual shop, even if I once lived just down the street, the snooty sales clerk was on the phone. He acted like I was wasting his time. (I was the only one in the shop, and probably the only one bothering on this rainy spring day, btw). I asked for a few samples that I hadn't tried, and he told me, "No more than two." Then he rolled his eyes and continued with his conversation. If I was planning on purchasing a new bottle that day, I wasn't about to do it here and now. If I continue to purchase this perfume in the future, I'll go elsewhere, but with all of the competition out there, I mean, why bother? The customer service is obviously terrible from top to bottom, and I certainly won't be returning, even if the bottles are beautiful and the scents desirable. There are others that are equally good. I guess the beauty really only is skin deep. :( read more

Drawn to this brand by their NYC theming and beautifully designed bottles, I felt compelled to check out the shop with one of my girlfriends. She warned me that, though expensive, the Bond perfumes tend not to have much staying power. I figured I'd find a favorite, try it on my skin and see if that was true for me as well. The sales assistant jumped on us as we entered, bringing us back to the full table of scents and introducing us to some popular options. I told her I like rose as a base note and she showed me three rose based options, all very nice. But she was persistent about using the cards to spray scents, even if we asked for a second time to smell something. It left me feeling like I couldn't trial anything on my skin. And she really stayed on us the whole time. Perhaps if I'd been more direct, I could've achieved my trial goal. Overall, I just did not feel comfortable in this store. And, if what my girlfriend says is true, this brand is not worth the price tag. I'm happy to spend on quality, but not on a brand that looks better than it really is. read more

Love these stores. I've gone to 3 of them but my fave is the flagship on Bond Street. It's much more spacious and Dietra is awesome. The scents are very overwhelming when you walk in, but there is something for everyone. I love Bond No 9 so much that I have Saks for Her, Perfumista Ave, Eau de New York, Madison Square Park, Park Ave South and a few pocket sprays. The samples are my favorite part. I get to try a little of everything slowly without having to buy them all. I found Deitra to be very generous with giving me samples... so a huge thank you! I love treating myself to a new bottle once or twice a year. Anyone who knows quality scents will know Bond No 9 immediately. read more

Im an extremely picky consumer when it comes to purchase. Perfume is a luxury item where i take considerable care in purchasing. Perfume gives you scent--a signature of your personal brand, the purchase of that one should not take lightly. I came across bond no.9 and it was open late. I walked in to see what it was and was delighted to find it was a perfumery. I loved the black bottled men's scent. And the lavender bottler women's scent (called peace). The notes were multilayered giving it a complex scent keeping me entertained. I loved it so much more than the Hermes scent I wear regularly. The designer of these perfumes is incredible. I don't fancy the branding or bottle designs. I felt that should be completely revamped to more sophisticated to match the scents. I wish they would hire me to do so as im sure their sales would increase significantly since im a procen expert in branding. In any case I wish them luck since the product (the perfume) is exquisite and can be placed in any aftermarket bottle (even a glass spray bottle from eBay) after your purchase. My salesperson was margarita isaeva and she was so kind and took the time to explain the notes in the scents. She also gave me a sample of the "peace" scent and the men's scent I loved. My boyfriend and I visited the city last weekend for his birthday. He was interested in a new cologne and I introduced him to Bond No.9. We went to the store on Washington St and was greeted by the manager Donna. She was a breathe of fresh air. Sooo very nice and helpful. It is pricey, but if you like Creed and are willing to spend the extra for a date or weekend bottle than I highly recommend it! Okay .... I legit had the most amazing experience with Kyle from Bond on Bleecker. What a dream. Get this people -- I randomly called from CALIFORNIA and he was my angel of perfume that answered. Not only was he a joy to talk to, but an absolute expert in all things Bond. I couldn't decide between Scent of Peace and Nuit de Noho... he explained both of their scent personalities to a TEE and I couldn't be more grateful. Bond gets it right every time. I can't tell you how much I've been complimented wearing ANY ONE of their scents - my fav's are Wall Street, Astor Place and Coney Island. I bought my girlfiend Harrod's for Women and it was amazing as well. Be prepared to slap down some serious plastic though - a decent sized bottle is going to run you $200 but if you have it to spend, just do it. Amazing stuff. read more

Don't waste your $ on a 1.5 bottle, go for the big bottle. If you are scared you wont use it before it starts to expire, no worries. These fragrances have a shelf life of about 5 years unlike your average 1 year less expensive brands.. read more

I received a sample of Chinatown from a friend, and absolutely loved the creamy, flowery, incensey scent. Since Bond perfumes are pretty concentrated, it took me a while to finish it. I thought about purchasing a full size bottle, but wanted to try some other scents before committing. Last week, I finally visited the Bleecker St store after walking past it a million times. The sales women were really helpful and suggested scents that matched the notes I liked. After sniffing about 5 samples, my nose quickly became confused. Sensing my indecisiveness, they suggested the mini bon bon set, which contains 9 pocket-spray sized bottles of their best selling perfumes. She also suggested a few samples for me that weren't in the set. Sadly, out of the 9 vials in the set and the 3 samples I got, very few were even tolerable. And the ones I liked are pretty much dupes for other popular perfumes. For instance, Astor Place smells almost exactly like J'Adore by Dior. Scent of Peace is nice, but it's really similar to D&G's Light Blue. I'm disappointed with my purchase, especially since it was so pricey. But Bond does have 60+ scents, so I'm willing to try out some more before giving up on them completely. One parting thought - I noticed a lot of the reviews criticized the service at this place. Terrible management, store is old and dirty. A girl who works there has no make up and uniform. This is not luxury, a joke, lol

The perfume is brilliant. A few sprays last all day rather than some cheaper ones that you have to re apply. The sales team in saks were terrible. My girlfriend and I visited New York and probably didn't look like typical saks customers. Think skinny jeans and a hoodie. But we had specifically gone looking for this shop to buy the perfume. We sprayed a few cards with the sampler perfumes to see what we wanted. The sales people ignored us for what seemed like the longest five ten minutes of my life. A lady who arrived after us who was dressed more middle class than we were was served straight away with excellent customer service while we were still ignored. My girlfriend tried to buy the larger bottle but the girl walked off. It was only when I loudly said o my partner that I didn't want to buy my perfume here because the customer service was terrible and we should see if there is another store that sells bond no 9 that the man behind the counter jumped up and fetched the woman. From then on they were lovely, but fake. The gave us some free samples as they always do when buying tis perfume but I still had a bad experience. Not the kind of customer service I expect considering we spent about 400 dollars here just because of the fact we are both young. We bought from other shops in saks and never received this treatment. Even when we went to tiffany's with scruffy clothes on they couldn't have been more helpful. But the perfume is good so 2 stars read more
