Initially I gave this location 5 stars, but once I got home to eat my food I realized that my fried rice was so mushy it was like I was eating mashed potatoes m. And I ordered 12 pc wings and got only 1 flat piece and ALL drums!! Which really made me upset because I am a flats girl (lol). Original Review: Townson Bonchon hits the spot! Great customer service! Very nice and clean inside. The prices and portions are the normal Bonchon standards. My food tastes great! Only thing I'm missing is if they could serve me a drink while I wait lol . read more

Horrid wait times, overpriced horrible food, terrible service, negative ambiance, dirt everywhere. DO NOT GO HERE!!!

I really enjoyed my visit. We ordered at the digital kiosk and our food came out pretty quick. The chicken was so Crunchy and well seasoned. The kimchi and coleslaw was slammin. The fries and the donut was delicious. I really have no issues that other people have had. The staff was pleasant. No issues. Just good quick food. We ate in so the food was hot and fresh. read more

Had to circle back for another review! The Towson Bonchon location is NO where near the same quality as the Hyattsville location! Towson chicken is crusty! Dropped in for a low key dinner. Bon chon used to be my absolute favorite, but as many restaurants, the quality has gone down, and the prices have increased drastically. GLOWS: -Expansive menu with many different items. I can only vouch for the quality of the fried chicken. -On Mondays and Wednesdays, they have a $1 drumstick special which is a great deal price wise. -French fries were solid GROWS: -The Ellicott City location functions as a full restaurant, with bar and table service. This place has a take out counter with tables that you can dine if you'd like. I was caught off guard walking in to realize we wouldn't be served at the tables. -The wings were far too greasy. Everyone's stomach hurt after we left this place from eating overly greasy food that we couldn't even finish -The fried rice was undercooked. The veggies mixed in were hard and crunchy. read more

Been a while since I was at this Towson Bonchon location...probably will not be back again anytime soon! Came to the Towson branch around 7:30 and ordered the large 8 wing 4 drum combo to go. Did not leave until about 8P. Waited longer than needed in that the clerk, Shaniyah, was too busy loudly talking on her cellphone, to attend to customers. So my food just sat on the counter. Waited for a little bit the. Eventually went up to the counter to try and get her attention but her back was turned. The back cook finally had to call out 3x to get her attention. The food had good flavor but the service just left a bad taste. Might be the reason place is empty. read more

We love bonchon chicken. We placed an online order for 20 piece wings (1/2 spicy and 1/2 soy garlic). The food was ready for pick-up on time. As usual, the chicken was crispy and flavorful. I usually alternate between eating the spicy and soy garlic wing to give my mouth time to recover from the burning spices. I prefer the wing over the leg pieces. They are more flavorful and the meat is not as dry. I took 1 star off for the pickled radish. Ours was not pickled. I recommend giving it a try if you love wings and never had Korean fry chicken. read more

The worst bonchon restaurant we ever been to. We ordered Togo chicken half and half, we had $10 off $30 so we just need to pay $20 for our order. I guess the reason that we got the tiny pickle radish dish is that we used the coupon they sent to our home. I never seen any bonchon restaurants gave out this tiny little side dish like this for the amount of wings we order! It not even enough for a person to enjoy the wings. And if we want the "regular side dish" , they will charge us extra $2 because we used coupon! It's ridiculous! read more

I visited Bonchon Towson on Saturday night with my husband since we had a special event through Yelp. I have never eaten at Bonchon before and was honestly a bit unaware of what they even offered. I checked their menu out before I arrived. Upon pulling up there was plenty of parking right out front. We entered the bright and clean restaurant to find several people waiting for food but there was no line to order. I had the mixed 4 piece (leg, strip, boneless, wing) with the soy garlic sauce. I chose French fries as my side. I also had the vanilla chocolate chip Mochi ice-cream. We ordered an appetizer vegetable potstickers and my husband had 6 wings (hot) with a side of coleslaw. We also purchased two bottled drinks. The gentleman at the counter who rang us up and took payment was super friendly and patient since we were new to their ordering process. Upon payment we were given a little card which told us what would be yelled out when our order was ready. Please note (the menu says it too) that your order could take up to 30 minutes to prep since everything is made fresh. They also guarantee your chicken to be crispy which it definitely was! The order was out way quicker than 30 min. I was rather impressed by everything I ate at Bonchon. The chicken was super flavorful and crispy. The French fries were crispy and delicious. I had never had Mochi ice cream before but it was so good and unique! Even the coleslaw wasn't bad! Although I may not be back to this location since it is a bit far from my house, I have another Bonchon close to home that I already plan on visiting super soon! read more

It's been awhile since I've been to a Bonchon, but with the Yelp event, I wasn't going to say no. Who doesn't enjoy some fried chicken here or there? I was a bit hesitant to go based off the low rating, but anything is worth a shot and I'm glad that I ended up going! Let me give a shout out to Jasmin who was really friendly and took care of everything right away. I had her pick my mochi (vanilla chocolate chip) which was great and exactly what I needed after the chicken. Thanks for that Jasmin! I decided to go with soy garlic and a side of Mac & Kimcheese. The chicken had the perfect amount of crisp to it. You can tell it was freshly made. The only downside to the drumstick that was given was that it was a little too greasy for my standards. All the other pieces were perfect. The Mac & Kimcheese tasted like it's been sitting for more than a day. I'll give it another go. It could use some more spices to really bring out the Kimchee flavor. read more

I was a little afraid to come here after seeing how low of a rating they have but I was pleasantly surprised when I came in for lunch today. I arrived around 12:45 in the afternoon and expected to see a lunch rush. It's located in a shopping center so there was plenty of parking. When I went in I noticed several hand sanitizer stations and they encourage but do not require customers to wear masks. The staff there all wore masks and changed out their gloves frequently. No line so I was able to get in and out quickly. I ordered the soy garlic wings with a side of fries and a strawberry Mochi as dessert. I had it to go because I had a lot to do this day but the dining area was clean and I wouldn't mind eating there in the future. The staff was friendly and more than willing to answer a few questions that I had. When my food was ready someone brought it out to where I was sitting and waiting at. My food smelled so good I could barely manage not to eat it before I got home. Once I did get home and start to eat it the wings were absolutely delicious. They were a little crispy on the outside converted in the soy garlic sauce. Had a bit of a kick but I love garlic. My fries had gotten a little bit cold but they still have a good flavor as well. I did not eat the Mochi because my daughter laid claim to it as soon as I walked in my house. Food was good and the service was great. I would definitely come back again. read more

They had a really rough opening week. Orders were made, orders were canceled...but I can't hold that against them. They were PACKED full. I tried to go in after an order was canceled, and they said it'd be an hour wait. I get it. I did manage to get lunch on the first Saturday they were open (by ordering for noon right before they opened). The food was better than other Bonchons I've been to...most chain places are when they first open. We shall see how they fair from here on out. I went back at the beginning of June and the food was still good, and things had slowed down. It sees they really found their rhythm. I'll have to eat-in soon to see if the service is better than some other Bonchons (which are usually good, excluding the one that closed in Canton - go figure). Food: If you dine in I really recommend the Bibimbap because it's really not comparable to takeout. The container and freshness absolutely makes it. We also got the spicy wings and the spicy level was decent for spice lovers! But my friend and I found it was a bit on the greasy side. (She disliked that less than me.) I have had takoyaki here before and really liked it before though. So on food I think it's pretty good. Service: My experience here has repeatedly been excellent. The person who took my order was always polite. This time we had a server who was very friendly, helpful and attentive. Ambiance: Relaxed. Good lighting. We weren't sure they had opened up dine in again after COVID but seems they had. There weren't many people around though (maybe people are still primarily just ordering out?) . The FIFA World Cup was playing on the TV screen but not in a super loud way. It'a not a very aesthetic or moody place, but it's comfortable. Good for a group of friends or families. read more

SLOW, POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, POOR QUALITY FOOD! I wanted to go back and get my refund for all this nasty food that I just bought so bad but it's raining outside and something's going on with my car. No point in calling because they'll only act like nothing was wrong with the food, yet you can see from my pictures, something is seriously wrong with the food. and is pissed off as I am right now, I would probably curse someone out (but Im trying to get into heaven). First of all, it looks like somebody literally bit directly into my chicken drum (see pic), AND the nasty chicken tasted like rubber! Secondly, the japchae did not taste like any Japchae I have ever had at a Bonchon. So this tells me that this particular location is terrible!! Not only is the food bad, but the customer service is even worse, and then the wait time to get the food is horrible!!!!!! When I went into order my food, there was one couple waiting, and one person sitting on the bench. Three other people came in after me. I waited 33 minutes before I got my food - after everyone else but everyone else still waited a good 20 minutes. I had to wait 33 minutes for a 5 piece drum, Japchae, and small fry. Every single time I go into this one there areissues with Customer Service and long wait times. I'm done!! But I'm actually gonna yell louder about the quality of the food because I'm willing to wait for food that's really good- even put up with a bad attitude- if the food is really good. Not here though. I LOVE this place so much! Ben and Julia gave me phenomenal service and everyone was just so nice and friendly. We arrived 1 hour and 15 minutes before closing on a Sunday, and the service was awful from the start. The register lady was rude and told us to leave 45 minutes before closing. When we finally got our food, my cousin asked for a plate, and she snapped that they don't provide plates, and it didn't matter anyway because we only had 6 minutes left to eat. What really upset me, though, was how she saw us come in, ordered a lot of food, and then, as we were eating, told us to pack up and leave. She even threatened to call the police if we didn't leave. On top of all that, the bathrooms were filthy--there were pubes on the seat. The food itself was bland, with no discernible flavor, and the chicken was undercooked. My family has been eating at Bonchon for years, but this was by far the worst experience we've ever had. What really blew my family was this lady proceeded to be rude and jokingly said to my cousin, "I hope you come back" like what? After you knew we were unhappy with everything? Images below provide the store hours, stating they closed at 9 and they kicked us out at 8:20 ish. I'd give this place a solid 3. It's like a backwards "E" for effort. The chicken was tasteless. It was full of texture. It was uniquely crunchy- I'll give you that; but I get the impression that the batter was lightly seasoned and the chicken itself wasn't. Essentially-it didn't really "bring it" with the flavor. The honey garlic sauce wasn't good. It just wasn't. At any rate, it was so faintly brushed on there that I could barely taste it and that might have been the only thing that saved this otherwise under seasoned chicken wing. I thought the French fries would help me forget about the wings but those were lukewarm when I got them so that ruined it for me. Those were also crispy and perfectly textured but nonetheless tasteless. I think they forgot the salt. The soda machine was broken, which didn't help. The food is overpriced and the portion sizes are huge for no reason. Very underwhelming dining experience. 3 out of 10 wouldn't recommend. read more

Terrible service. Rude! Said they can help out. Hung up the phone on me. Never again. Shame

Man, this franchise used to be my jam and now it's just always a disappointment. The chicken wings are like half the size they uses to be and flavorless. I always get the spicy and this time they almost tasted plain. Is the sauce rare and expensive now?? Or are the employees indifferent? It's a shame because that flavor is something I crave and have never found anywhere else. I gave two stars because the wings were at least very crispy. read more

First thing you notice coming in on Sunday evening is the lack of cars in the parking lot and lack of people in the restaurant. If you are going to sell overpriced fried chicken, you better make sure ambience and other peripherals are up to snuff. Turning this into a quick pick up/fastfood joint is a terrible idea. You are asking for people to emotionally judge you or compare you to a Popeyes or KFC. Combine that with a ghost town of a mall and store that is all windows on a hot summer day and you are trying to save utility bill by turning down your ac, you are sure to never come back here after the first time. I am not surprised that the place is deserted. Everyone probably ate once and said never again. Also, no plates? Seriously? Cutting cost is not worth losing a customer. Also, your staff is clearly unhappy to be at work and that is not lost on your customers... read more

Worst Bonchon experience I've ever had. For those unfamiliar, Bonchon is a Korean fried chicken chain that offers a simple, but high quality menu for take out or dine in experiences. When Bonchon opened up a Towson branch, I was excited to get my fix of crispy chicken with Asian inspired seasonings. I ordered a large variety of items from Bonchon Towson and found most to be lacking in the quality I had come to expect from the Bonchon brand: The boneless chicken wings were tiny nuggets of pure fried batter, with little chicken for me to sink my teeth into. Worse off, they were under sauced making them dry and bland tasting. I ordered the classic Soy Garlic flavor and the new Sweet Chili flavor, but I couldn't tell the difference due to lack of seasoning. The chicken katsu was well cooked and juicy, though it also had a lack of katsu sauce on top. They made up for the lack of katsu sauce with an adequate amount of spicy mayo, which helped add some moisture and flavor to the mix. The Korean street corn was my favorite item, as the corn was fine, but the abundance of toppings and sauces gave it the most recognizable taste to Bonchon. The edamame was lazy, with zero salt added. Edamame is a simple dish of just boiled edamame that's tossed in salt and I was disappointed in the lack of simple ingredients. I also ordered the seasoned fries. I'd love to review the seasoned fries, but they were not added to my bag, despite me getting charged for them. Not only was the food order a mess, but the atmosphere had much to be desired. Every Bonchon I've ever visited is plastered with hip décor, televisions that play sports or Korean entertainment, and dim lights for a relaxing dine in experience. Bonchon Towson has little décor, blasting tacky modern music, and bright lights. To make it worse, instead of people having their orders delivered to their tables like all other locations, you have a person at a counter screaming chicken puns. Meaning you'll try to enjoy your meal and every five minutes you'll hear "Boys 2 Hen" and "Chicken My Heart". Bonchon Towson took one of my favorite food chains and ruined it with poor quality food, missing orders, and a childish environment that makes me never want to eat there. read more

I wanted to love this place, I really did. I love Bonchon chicken and was very excited to learn there was one 10 minutes away. Upon entering, the place was completely empty except for 2 people behind the counter, another employee sitting at a table eating, and the cook. The soda machine had a sign on almost every flavor indicating it was empty. Out of the 4 electronic menu screens, only 1 was working. Girl at the register didn't appear to be happy that customers were finally there. She wasn't rude, but wasn't pleasant either. Our food took about 15 minutes to come out, and the other worker behind the counter delivered it to our table. Food was decent and I'd probably order again. While we were there, a few other customers came in for take out orders. Overall the restaurant looked clean, but when I moved the table to sit down, it was definitely not clean. My hand touched something sticky and I was pretty grossed out. I feel like this location has so much potential to be better. The people you hire can make or break a business and I don't know if I'll continue to go here, probably just go to the Canton location. read more

Firstly,I've been cooking over 38 years. So I know what I'm talking about.2 stars is being nice.I'll explain. A while ago 3 friends went here and said there was a 1/2hour wait, they didnt have the kimchi mac and the hot wings were "made them cry" hot.But since it just opened, maybe they were working the kinks out. So today I elected to go.Upon entering I quickly noticed 3 things. The AC could've been a lot cooler, the place was clean and I was the only person I could see. The young man working the counter was outside dropping off a delivery and was leisurely strolling back behind the counter.I get no greeting, nothing.I order 6 wings meal with radish, ff &fountain.I ask for 1/2&1/2 wings. No sooner than I grab my soda, napkins&straw and sit down, then my order is ready.2 minutes and done? every other review is waiting? Oh,mine were already cooked and sitting in some temperature holding device.I'm lucky. Now look at my picture. What does the toothpick signify? The division of soy ones vs spicy ones? But the toothpick one was soy.Look at the sauce colors.I got 4 soys and 2 hots. And that was the way they tasted. Ok,now I eat a hot one and I am prepared to cry.annnnnd? nothing.nada.zippo.Not even a forehead sweat(besides the one from the lack of AC) They have those batter type fries. They were hot.The pickled radish? White squares in a white cup with the flavor matching the creativity. But wait...they had cream soda and it was cold and delish! (now the counter person is in customer order area sitting down) A customer came in and got the same non verbal acknowledgment. (as a side note, look at the chair seat angle?sit "in"the chair not on it) So I am done and go outside to leave. Two nurses go in and almost immediately leave.I can hear one say,"I'm not spending 20 minutes of my lunchbreak to wait for chicken to cook." So down to the main star of the show: How was the chicken?Yes,they were crispy. No, they were not large(wing#1&wing#5 from the left were rather average to small). The flavor was just ok.Nothing I couldnt replicate with some soy, garlic&cornstarch. The hot ones were uneventful. In a day and age where consumers are more savvy about their spendings,my experience here would not provoke me to come back again. They are too many other places to find.I wish you good luck because based upon what experienced, you are gonna need it. You know, now that i think about it...i've always told my cooks dont serve shit. And you know what? You served me shit.I got a shit greeting(none), shit service. He couldve walked the food to me but was busy sitting down and I got shit food.cold, old leftover dried out chicken read more

I really run ‍ into the restaurant when I saw it is Bonchone outside, because this brand left my a great impression before. However, this one just made me disappointed. Their chicken wings lost the Bonchon favor. It became a normal fried chicken like any other places, then no reason to choose to come. However, if u just want to have fired chicken but not Bonchon signature chicken, it will be fine choice. Horrible. Waited 20 mins for food at a fast food place, when we were one of two tables in an otherwise empty restaurant. The entire time we waited, there were three employees standing behind the counter doing absolutely nothing. Then when the food finally arrived, I ordered the bulgogi tacos and there was no meat in the tacos...it was all mayo and cole slaw, and absolutely gross. I asked for a refund, which they immediately gave me, but they didn't seem shocked when I showed the tacos. Also ordered fried rice, which was mushy, and dumplings that were so drenched in sauce that you couldn't taste the actual dumpling. This place is actually pretty expensive, but the food was nasty. The bathrooms were gross too....trash cans were overflowing. You'd think with 3 people doing absolutely nothing that one of them could take out the trash. Definitely will not be back. read more

Wow! What an experience, perfect place for the whole family. The drumsticks are more crispy than any other chicken I've had, plenty of spice, multiple flavors in the spicy soy garlic. As for the fries, the crunch and texture is a lot like fried yucca, so soft and fluffy on the inside and the perfect crunch on the outside. The ranch has an interesting tang, almost garlicky but it compliments the meal very well. I got a raspberry tea to top it all off and it was the perfect way to wash the flavors down.
