We love bonchon chicken. We placed an online order for 20 piece wings (1/2 spicy and 1/2 soy garlic). The food was ready for pick-up on time. As usual, the chicken was crispy and flavorful. I usually alternate between eating the spicy and soy garlic wing to give my mouth time to recover from the burning spices. I prefer the wing over the leg pieces. They are more flavorful and the meat is not as dry. I took 1 star off for the pickled radish. Ours was not pickled. I visited Bonchon Towson on Saturday night with my husband since we had a special event through Yelp. I have never eaten at Bonchon before and was honestly a bit unaware of what they even offered. I checked their menu out before I arrived. Upon pulling up there was plenty of parking right out front. We entered the bright and clean restaurant to find several people waiting for food but there was no line to order. I had the mixed 4 piece (leg, strip, boneless, wing) with the soy garlic sauce. I chose French fries as my side. I also had the vanilla chocolate chip Mochi ice-cream. We ordered an appetizer vegetable potstickers and my husband had 6 wings (hot) with a side of coleslaw. We also purchased two bottled drinks. The gentleman at the counter who rang us up and took payment was super friendly and patient since we were new to their ordering process. Upon payment we were given a little card which told us what would be yelled out when our order was ready. Please note (the menu says it too) that your order could take up to 30 minutes to prep since everything is made fresh. They also guarantee your chicken to be crispy which it definitely was! The order was out way quicker than 30 min. I was rather impressed by everything I ate at Bonchon. The chicken was super flavorful and crispy. The French fries were crispy and delicious. I had never had Mochi ice cream before but it was so good and unique! Even the coleslaw wasn't bad! It's been awhile since I've been to a Bonchon, but with the Yelp event, I wasn't going to say no. Who doesn't enjoy some fried chicken here or there? I was a bit hesitant to go based off the low rating, but anything is worth a shot and I'm glad that I ended up going! Let me give a shout out to Jasmin who was really friendly and took care of everything right away. I had her pick my mochi (vanilla chocolate chip) which was great and exactly what I needed after the chicken. Thanks for that Jasmin! I decided to go with soy garlic and a side of Mac & Kimcheese. The chicken had the perfect amount of crisp to it. You can tell it was freshly made. The only downside to the drumstick that was given was that it was a little too greasy for my standards. All the other pieces were perfect. The Mac & Kimcheese tasted like it's been sitting for more than a day. I'll give it another go. I was a little afraid to come here after seeing how low of a rating they have but I was pleasantly surprised when I came in for lunch today. I arrived around 12:45 in the afternoon and expected to see a lunch rush. It's located in a shopping center so there was plenty of parking. When I went in I noticed several hand sanitizer stations and they encourage but do not require customers to wear masks. The staff there all wore masks and changed out their gloves frequently. No line so I was able to get in and out quickly. I ordered the soy garlic wings with a side of fries and a strawberry Mochi as dessert. I had it to go because I had a lot to do this day but the dining area was clean and I wouldn't mind eating there in the future. The staff was friendly and more than willing to answer a few questions that I had. When my food was ready someone brought it out to where I was sitting and waiting at. My food smelled so good I could barely manage not to eat it before I got home. Once I did get home and start to eat it the wings were absolutely delicious. They were a little crispy on the outside converted in the soy garlic sauce. Had a bit of a kick but I love garlic. My fries had gotten a little bit cold but they still have a good flavor as well. Food: If you dine in I really recommend the Bibimbap because it's really not comparable to takeout. The container and freshness absolutely makes it. We also got the spicy wings and the spicy level was decent for spice lovers! But my friend and I found it was a bit on the greasy side. (She disliked that less than me.) I have had takoyaki here before and really liked it before though. So on food I think it's pretty good. Service: My experience here has repeatedly been excellent. The person who took my order was always polite. This time we had a server who was very friendly, helpful and attentive. Ambiance: Relaxed. Good lighting. We weren't sure they had opened up dine in again after COVID but seems they had. There weren't many people around though (maybe people are still primarily just ordering out?) . We arrived 1 hour and 15 minutes before closing on a Sunday, and the service was awful from the start. The register lady was rude and told us to leave 45 minutes before closing. When we finally got our food, my cousin asked for a plate, and she snapped that they don't provide plates, and it didn't matter anyway because we only had 6 minutes left to eat. What really upset me, though, was how she saw us come in, ordered a lot of food, and then, as we were eating, told us to pack up and leave. She even threatened to call the police if we didn't leave. On top of all that, the bathrooms were filthy--there were pubes on the seat. The food itself was bland, with no discernible flavor, and the chicken was undercooked. My family has been eating at Bonchon for years, but this was by far the worst experience we've ever had. What really blew my family was this lady proceeded to be rude and jokingly said to my cousin, "I hope you come back" like what? After you knew we were unhappy with everything? The honey garlic sauce wasn't good. It just wasn't. At any rate, it was so faintly brushed on there that I could barely taste it and that might have been the only thing that saved this otherwise under seasoned chicken wing. Worst Bonchon experience I've ever had. For those unfamiliar, Bonchon is a Korean fried chicken chain that offers a simple, but high quality menu for take out or dine in experiences. When Bonchon opened up a Towson branch, I was excited to get my fix of crispy chicken with Asian inspired seasonings. I ordered a large variety of items from Bonchon Towson and found most to be lacking in the quality I had come to expect from the Bonchon brand: The boneless chicken wings were tiny nuggets of pure fried batter, with little chicken for me to sink my teeth into. Worse off, they were under sauced making them dry and bland tasting. I ordered the classic Soy Garlic flavor and the new Sweet Chili flavor, but I couldn't tell the difference due to lack of seasoning. The chicken katsu was well cooked and juicy, though it also had a lack of katsu sauce on top. They made up for the lack of katsu sauce with an adequate amount of spicy mayo, which helped add some moisture and flavor to the mix. The Korean street corn was my favorite item, as the corn was fine, but the abundance of toppings and sauces gave it the most recognizable taste to Bonchon. The edamame was lazy, with zero salt added. Edamame is a simple dish of just boiled edamame that's tossed in salt and I was disappointed in the lack of simple ingredients. I also ordered the seasoned fries. I'd love to review the seasoned fries, but they were not added to my bag, despite me getting charged for them. Not only was the food order a mess, but the atmosphere had much to be desired. Every Bonchon I've ever visited is plastered with hip décor, televisions that play sports or Korean entertainment, and dim lights for a relaxing dine in experience. Bonchon Towson has little décor, blasting tacky modern music, and bright lights. To make it worse, instead of people having their orders delivered to their tables like all other locations, you have a person at a counter screaming chicken puns. Meaning you'll try to enjoy your meal and every five minutes you'll hear "Boys 2 Hen" and "Chicken My Heart". Bonchon Towson took one of my favorite food chains and ruined it with poor quality food, missing orders, and a childish environment that makes me never want to eat there. read more

Upon entering, the place was completely empty except for 2 people behind the counter, another employee sitting at a table eating, and the cook. Girl at the register didn't appear to be happy that customers were finally there. She wasn't rude, but wasn't pleasant either. While we were there, a few other customers came in for take out orders. Overall the restaurant looked clean, but when I moved the table to sit down, it was definitely not clean. Wow! What an experience, perfect place for the whole family. The drumsticks are more crispy than any other chicken I've had, plenty of spice, multiple flavors in the spicy soy garlic. As for the fries, the crunch and texture is a lot like fried yucca, so soft and fluffy on the inside and the perfect crunch on the outside. The ranch has an interesting tang, almost garlicky but it compliments the meal very well. I got a raspberry tea to top it all off and it was the perfect way to wash the flavors down. This is our go to Korean chicken spot but have had a much more pleasant experience at other locations. The plain chicken was crunchy but tasteless. Service was ok. I give 1 star because of the ambiance. The Towson location off of Goucher blvd is dirty! We were in the restaurant two days in a row. The first day was a quick snack so we ran in to place an order to go. I needed to use the restroom but I could not. I was afraid because it was dirty and smelly but at least they had soap and paper towels so I could wash my hands. We got our order and left. The very next evening we stopped by and had time to sit down to eat. I went to the restroom to wash my hands and walked in the same bathroom. It was evident that it was never cleaned from the day before. We should have used that as our cleanliness clue and ran for the hills. However, against my better judgement we stayed to dine in. It gets worse. The dining area was even more disgusting . The area is not maintained between guests which I do not understand why. The cashier was not overwhelmed with doing anything other than being on her phone. Benches/ chairs were full of crumbs. There were ants and gnats crawling on the tables, and around the trash cans. We had to fight off gnats and flies and kill ants while trying to eat. Honestly, we were so grossed out we could not finish eating. I ordered the chicken sliders as an appetizer just for a snack while I took a break from work. They had the tiniest little piece of chicken on each one you got maybe two bites of chicken for each of the sliders. The one in the picture was absolutely terrible. The rest of the slider is all bread and cucumber. I've been to Bonchon's all across the country and I usually really like it but this location sucks not to mention the staff was not inviting, very nonchalant. So this was my first time here and you can smell the deliciousness as you walk in the door. service was quick and friendly. the chefs in the back were rocking it out back there, as a fellow chef I was impressed with their speed and cleanliness. will be back again read more
