their wings are flavorful and juicy, not overcooked and the sauce is GOOOD. I may have inhaled the ranch too cause it was also good. I also had this pork bun bao that was super yummy and I liked that the sauce was not bland whatsoever. perfect hint of umami and heat; the pork tender and seasoned well. service was super friendly and even checked up on us every now and then to see if we liked our food. ambiance fits for those who want to have a quick bite with friends or solo. would come back again! read more

A couple of days ago I placed a takeout order through DoorDash. I was left with a slightly unpleasant feeling because when I got home I realized that my Sotteok Sotteok was missing. I had ordered it specifically for myself, while the rest was for my family. However, I didn't go back since it would have been a waste of time. I originally wanted to leave a 3-star review because I was quite disappointed, but I decided to be fair and reasonable. I have to mention that the chicken was perfectly cooked Everything was very tasty, and it's definitely a 5-star quality meal overall. Still, the experience left a bad impression, so I'm giving 4 stars. Please be more careful when preparing orders. read more

I ordered the soy garlic wings through DoorDash. These reviews must be fake because that chicken was not good nor was it fresh. I can tell it was double fried but it was dry and not close to juicy. I normally order Korean fried chicken from bbq Korean. Way fresher and tastier. read more

Service was great. Food was tasty. Time it took to receive my sampler was decent. The interior looked clean. I would come back here for fried chicken. read more

This was another visit to this location before heading into Six Flags Magic Mountain. The restaurant is clean and has lots of seating. The food came out quick and very hot. The staff is friendly and provides tips if you need assistance. My family enjoys Bonchon and hopes they will open one in Ventura County someday. read more

Umm... I ordered 8 drumsticks and 5 chicken strips. The drumsticks were extremely dry and so tough they were difficult to chew. I took one bite and threw the entire order away. I've had Korean fried chicken many times, but this was by far the worst I've ever had. I don't know if this was just a one-time issue, but based on my experience, I unfortunately can't recommend this place. read more

Love this place great place for fried chicken, all of their chicken is so juicy and flavorful. Love the glass noddles as well and fried rice. Some of my favorite cabbage kimchi as well. Definitely recommend this location. A lot of great seating area but also have convenient take out options too. read more

Great option for quick Korean food. We've eaten at other Bonchon restaurants in other cities, so we were so happy they had one closer. It's a small clean establishment but it's big enough for a quick bite or for take out which is what we normally do. Best to order directly from their website. Staff is always friendly and the food is ready in a decent amount of time. Ours was ready in about 15-20min. We ordered the yum drum trio ( 3 chicken drumsticks, fries and a donut), bulgogi fried rice and the bao buns ( we chose the friend chicken). Everything was very flavorful. We especially love the friend rice, it's what we get every visit). We only wish the portions were a little larger. Would recommend trying Bonchon if you have a craving for quick Korean food. read more

What did I just stumble onto!?!? Twice fried chicken, so crunchy, so pure. Had the lunch special with 4 wings & 2 legs. Split the flavors into Soy Ginger & Spicy. The spicy I'd say was like a 3 out of 5 in heat, but a 5 out of 5 in flavor. A touch of sweet to cut the heat. I've had some spicy k-fried chicken wear my lips burned for an hour lol, this one is palatable and delicious! The soy ginger is salty goodness, perfect for someone who wants to venture a step beyond the Classic Crunch. My personal choice for next time would be the fries over the Korean style street corn. If you've had esquites from your local street vendor, you'll feel the same. The portions here are hella generous for the price; lunch special is $11.99 for a variety of chicken combos and a side. I appreciate the choice of bottled or soda machine for my soda; I'm a bottle person. They have Pepsi for your carbonated needs. The crunch on this chicken is something special. Particularly on the legs. It gives the full ASMR experience! The female cashier was super welcoming and helpful. We were hesitant on what flavor to choose, and she offered a two flavor split. She also noticed my wife didn't order a drink and offered a water cup. It's the little things, but oftentimes I have to ask for basic necessities. The restaurant has several booths or regular table seating. The atmosphere is fun and exciting, just like the chicken! The cashier kept it moving as well, making sure the restaurant was clean and checking on all the customers. For the out of towners making a pit stop but want something special for the road, or a local in need of some comfort food, this is the spot. It's not quite as fast as "fast food" (crispy chicken takes time), but it is oh so worth the teensy wait! read more

TL;DR: Packed even near closing, but the fried chicken was pretty good. Corn dog was underwhelming. I'd give it a 3.5, but rounding up for the crispy chicken. ------ This spot is located in a large shopping strip mall and follows a fast-casual setup where you order at the counter and seat yourself. When I came close to closing, the place was still packed. Right after we ordered, it took a few minutes to find a booth, but we eventually got one as a family was finishing up. The fried chicken was definitely the highlight. It had a super crispy skin and a satisfying crunch. The seasoning leaned a bit salty, but overall it was flavorful and well-cooked. I'd come back just for that. The Korean corn dog, however, didn't really deliver. It was smaller than I expected and felt overpriced for what it was, even though the outside had a good crunch. Overall, I'd give this place a 3.5 out of 5. I'm rounding up to 4 because the chicken was solid and worth trying, but I'd be a little more cautious about the rest of the menu. read more

Stopped by Bonchon and had such a great first impression. The service was genuinely friendly and the whole place had a neighborhood vibe -- you could tell the staff know their regulars because people kept popping in just to say hello. The space is lively (a little loud), so conversations can be a bit challenging, but the energy adds to the fun atmosphere. There's plenty of parking and the restaurant has indoor dining with both booths and tables. I only tried the bao buns this visit and wow -- total flavor explosion. I ordered two and instantly wished I had ordered more. They also have a lot of drink options to choose from, which is nice. Already planning my next visit to try the chicken wings (I hear they're huge) and the dumpling soup. Looking forward to round two! read more

We came back tonight for the third time, unfortunately, it took about 10 minutes for somebody to come to the counter to take our order. The napkin dispenser was empty . When things like this get neglected, it doesn't bode well for a new restaurant. We ordered the bulgogi tacos, the street corn and some wings. The food was served piping hot and everything tasted great! read more

First and sadly my last time visiting Bonchon. It sucks that they have whitewashed the flavors so much just because it's located in a suburban American city. We stopped by for a late lunch and ordered the small drumsticks with yangnyeom, chicken strips with soy garlic, and tteokbokki, which totalled $43 or so. Everything came out fast which was nice. The drumsticks are HUGE. You rearely see drumsticks that size so it was nice and even the small was a good amount to share. They are fried really well and get so crispy, while the meat is juicy, so that was definitely the best part. The flavor, better than the soy garlic, was still fairly mild. You didn't get that bold, powerful flavoring like you find at most korean fried chicken spots. So that was a let down. The chicken strips were a total fail. As you can see in my picture - how are those strips? They're more like oblong chicken patties. They weren't crispy, not hot, and hardly any flavor. You had a mild scent of garlic and that's about it. The tteokbokki was very disappointing as well. It wasn't hot and the cheese wasn't even melted. There were more fishcakes than rice cakes, and the sauce was not spicy at all. It was pretty bland. And it was filled with grilled onions and peppers. The texture of the rice cakes were decent, not too chewy and had a good bite. Overally, this just isn't it and I'll stick to Koreatown for the Korean foods. read more

I've only ever tried this chain in San Diego a few years ago while visiting some friends. It was super good even though we only got some small bites at the time like fries and I think they're fried chicken (barely remember anymore). Our friends were also only there for the $2 Sapporo deal that they had. While trying to figure out what to have for lunch, I browsed through nearby spots and this one came up! Oddly enough, my bf and I are always in this area and didn't notice this spot till now. Luckily it was super close to Dirty Dough since we were there for a Yelp Event so it was the perfect pick up food to take home! It's in a nice place with tons of parking. We managed to park up front which had a 30 minute green zone. We walked in and were greeted by Nick who was super helpful and patient with our order since I wasn't too sure about what to eat and if the corn was a cob or cup lol. We ordered a bibimbap, street corn cup, kimchi, pickled radish, and bulgogi stir fry udon! There weren't many people at the time, maybe like two other parties. It's very bright and the walls are loud in a good way, with art. The food came out really quick and we were out there in no time! They have a nice utensil system where it's a dispenser like they have at Disneyland. Took the food home to enjoy, and honestly my favorite thing was really the kimchi and pickled radish! The kimchi wasn't spicy at all which was perfect for me, super flavorful and not "sour". The pickled radish was also milder than most places which was fantastic! Some places have really "stinky" radish but they're very good. This one didn't really smell at all and had great flavor! Overall I really enjoyed the bulgogi udon since you don't see that too often, always rice bowls or just on its own. My bf enjoyed his bibimbap as well and completely devoured it while I had the rest of mine even for dinner lol! Plenty of food to me and the street corn was absolutely delicious. Love how wet and cheesy it was!! Super flavorful and looking forward to coming back here soon. Glad it's basically near us! IG: @ammysalamii read more

Best Korean chicken in town! Service was great and fast. Made to order...............

We wanted to try something different that neither of us have been to. Bonchon has more selections when it comes to food compared to their competitor. Bb.q. We came here for dinner and as soon as we got there the place was somewhat empty except a table that was being occupied by a family. We ordered: Bibimbap with bulgogi - too much rice but good amount of everything else. The bulgogi was pretty good. Bulgogi tacos - perfect size and very flavorful Korean Donut - imagine a regular twisted Donut with cinnamon sugar. It was decent. Tasted better with the dip that it comes with The service was great. Price was good. Will definitely come back again to try something else. read more

Wow thanks for the reply. Now i have to spend MORE time answering a survey so you can make it right. *** I waited 45 minutes for take out after being told 10 mins. Several People who arrived after me got served ahead of me. The couple who were behind me in line finished their meal and my food still wasn't ready. Cashier explains they prioritize, dining customers. Fine but don't tell your customers 10 minutes if it will take you almost an hour. Last visit here, coleslaw served was spoiled. Bonchon in Korean translates to "my hometown". If you're craving K-fried chicken, check out this place in our local bonchon. The soy garlic drumsticks are my favorite. It's so huge and filling coated with sweet and savory goodness. The japchae was a good side dish but kinda pricey for the portion we got. Kimchi fried rice was good, especially after adding the fried egg on top. Don't forget the radishes for that extra crunch! Can't wait to go back for more and try the other flavors! Place was super clean and service was friendly. read more

The store is nicely decorated, the korean music videos were fun to watch. It's cool to see the cooks cooking your food when you're at the cashier area. The service was really good, they check up on you to make sure everything is going well. It's rare to be checked up on and taken well care of in a small restaurant that you can order to go. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND EVERYONE to come here!!! The tteokbokki, pork bao bun and fried chicken were really good. The fried chicken portion is HUGE like its worth your money paying for. Super cripsy, fresh, juicy and flavorful. I've tried other bon chons and their wings were always small and dry but this location beats all the other ones we went to. My hubby really likes the tteobokki because it's not super sweet. It was perfect! The pork belly bao bun was really fluffy and the pork belly was cooked perfectly, very addicting. Wish we can come back to and eat here everyday but we aren't from this area. read more

This place was delicious and I will definitely be coming back! We ordered 10 boneless Korean fried chicken with soy garlic and yangnyeom sauce, the Korean fried chicken sandwich, and the Korean donuts. The boneless fried chicken were great, I will definitely order more next time. The flavor and texture was perfect. The chicken sandwhich was okay, not terrible but maybe not my favorite. (We ate it quickly so forgot to take a pic) The Korean donuts were a great dessert and I may stop by for dessert sometimes. Overall, the service was very helpful as it was our first time and the food was delicious. A little expensive and can take awhile when it's busy but worth it! read more

Fried chicken. In the SCV. Enough said. In all seriousness, this place was great. The food was delicious (though likely not good for my blood pressure). Chicken has a nice crisp without drying out the inside. Considering that another Korean fried chicken place in the SCV (which is also good) seems to cost more, this place is a win. The wings were delicious and huge. The fries were not great. I love their Korean donut.

Korean fried chicken chains proliferating all over socal, rocks. I made the silly mistake of not understanding the difference between wings and legs and I found myself with a real excessive amount of food. Truly more than I could eat because those chickens were massssssssive. I found myself trying some tenders from a friend, and really enjoying how they fried up that white meat too. My only hesitation is, compared to KBBQ, the sauces here don't seem to excite me as much. read more

To be fair, I did get my order to go, but I didn't anticipate waiting so long before my family and I dug in. While the chicken was decent, I can only imagine how fantastic it would have been fresh out of the kitchen. The customer service was excellent, which earns a high rating, but I'm docking a star since phone orders require payment upfront. Upon walking in, I found the atmosphere to be inviting, and given that it was a warm day, I really appreciated that the AC was working well. Overall, a solid experience! read more

I've been waiting in anticipation for Bonchon to open. Finally opened and I had to try a couple items on the menu. I had the Korean Tacos which you have a choice of chicken or marinated ribeye. I choice the marinated ribeye with spicy mayo sauce, very tasty. Did try the Bao Buns, the buns were cold, not sure if that's the way they're supposed to come, probably would have tasted better if they were warm. Very much preferred and recommend the Korean Tacos. Lailah was so sweet! Excellent customer service and the food is so good. 10/10 would recommend.

I ordered takeout, and what I received was completely unacceptable. The nuggets were both dry and soggy, with no crunch at all. I tried eating them in the car just seconds after picking them up, and they were already limp. On top of that, the boneless wings lacked proper sauce compared to what I have received at other locations. Including the chicken quality, the quality is very poor. I had no idea it was the grand opening, super glad to try it out. We ordered the Bulgogi Fries, the Seasoned Fries, Korean Donuts and small Mixed pieces meal. The fries 10/10! They're crispy and the seasoning is far from basic. I was thinking small thinking it was gonna be just some seasoning salt. So good! My son inhaled the Bulgogi fries, he said 9.5/ 10. The chicken, next time, all wings. But the legs are huge ! I got the mixed 6 piece and it was enough for 2 people (me and my little one). The spicy was the favorite, the soy was more sweet than anything but still really good. Super crispy. 9.5 /10 read more

Our daughter has been talking about Bonchon since finding out about this one opening in SCV. It opened later than expected due to some delays with their permits.....but they're finally open and here we are! It was busy when we arrived for dinner. We were immediately greeted as we walked in. The team member at the register was friendly and so helpful as she guided us through the menu. We ordered the bulgogi, boneless fried chicken (soy garlic) and the fried chicken combo (spicy). For our sides we chose the seasoned French fries, Korean street corn and pickled radish. The bulgogi comes with steamed rice. Our order was ready pretty quickly. We found everything fresh and perfectly seasoned. My husband really liked the spicy fried chicken. I particularly enjoyed the sides. The pickled radishes were crisp, lightly sweet and refreshing. The corn was quite tasty. Great staff. A team member took our empty trays as we were finishing our meal. We were thanked as we walked out. Located in a very large plaza, parking is easy to find. We'll be back! read more

Bonchon is officially one of my favorite cheat meals. I'm obsessed with the yangnyeom sauce and the seasoned fries. The soy garlic is really good too, but nothing beats the yangnyeom for me. What impressed me most was how crunchy the chicken stayed. I've ordered both delivery and pickup, and both times the chicken was crispy, fresh, and delicious. I like to eat it with ranch, so I definitely recommend getting extra. The lunch special is such a steal. I got the 2 drums and 4 wings with seasoned fries, and it was so worth it.
