I'm surprised at the low rating here. We've been ordering from Bonchon pretty much since it opened and they're one of our favorite consistently good takeout places. First, the few negatives, because they have a big menu and there were a few things we didn't care for as much. I used to order the corn dog and pork belly bao buns, but they aren't as good lately. The fat on the pork belly wasn't always rendered the last few times and the corn dogs were dry. Both of these used to be so good. I never liked their fries. However, our reliable favorites are the kbbq and crunchy fried chicken, kbbq pork potstickers, sotteok skewers, edamame, omurice, fried rice, bulgogi, udon noodle soup, and bibimbap. All of them have been good every time we've ordered. Sometimes with other places, an item can be missing or wrong. Bonchon has never made a mistake with one of our orders and they're always fast and friendly. read more

Why no pictures? I am my chicken to damn fast. When living in Northern Virginia I discovered, then only a local chain, this small chain restaurant. I then explored other Korean bbq chicken joints in Annandale, VA. This is the first time in years that I had Bon Chon and it did not disappoint. Service was unremarkable. I'm surprised to see so many negative reviews for this location. The staff have always been friendly to us. The place is clean. I stop here about 3 times a month, the chicken is always juicy and seasoned correctly. I really like the sotteok and the donuts as well. I found the quality of their food to be consistent. I have one bone to pick, which is that the one time that I ordered the salad, the picture online showing chicken on a bed of lettuce doesn't look like remotely like what I received. Maybe it was a one time issue and they ran out of lettuce? More recently, the fried rice and japchae have a little too much oil. That said, I still think that this place deserves 5 stars. read more

This was my first visit to a BonChon, and I was hoping for better. Overall everything we had was just way way too salty, burn your tongue salty! I was unfamiliar with the menu, and the person taking orders was very helpful in explaining what they have, with wings being the most popular and a few different types of finishing sauces. Wings are not my favorite and so we went with the chicken strips with a garlic sauce. They were crispy, no doubt, but I did not feel that the chicken was especially moist or tender. I did not realize that they also offer boneless wings, and perhaps that would have been better. We started with crispy dumplings, again OK, hard and crunchy dumplings, and just too salty for our taste. We also tried the bulgogi rice, which was again just OK, barely any meat and just not flavorful except for salt! I realize this is only fast food, but at $44 we just didn't feel it was worth it. I may give it another try and order the wings, but I'd love to know if the salt can be dialed down, maybe have to forego any of the sauces. Fried chicken is not health food, I get it, but nobody should be eating this amount of sodium in one sitting. read more

Hmmm.... Not what I was expecting. Not at all like the Bonchon in Lowell. This is a Bonchon Express... Limited menu and you order at the counter like a fast food joint. There's no table service. Food was good, but the menu is limited. Would I go back to this location? Probably not. I'd go to the Lowell location instead. read more

My boyfriend had been to one in NY and thought it was great and remembered good portions. This experience wasn't in alignment with that. It is very expensive. $15.95 for 8 tiny, tiny pieces of chicken (some the size of your thumb) for boneless chicken wings. They are about the size of a chick fil a nugget. 3 stars because the flavor is there. Tasty. My boyfriend says he may want return and try the bone-in wings because there may be more meat or try something else. read more

Pretty good Korean fast food. I got the Jabchae which was tasty if expensive but you won't get away without dropping over $10 on a meal there. Next time I'll try the fried chicken or the fried rice. Fast friendly service. read more

It was OK, I got the Korean BBQ 10 piece drumsticks but they just tasted like chicken with BBQ sauce on them, nothing really special. I might try them again with a different flavor as maybe it was just an issue with that flavor but there are a lot of other places I still want to try so it will be a while before I'm back. read more

So good! I came for lunch with my husband and kids and throughly enjoyed all the food! The restaurant is super clean, staff is very friendly and helpful. extremely fast service! It was a great experience. Food was packed with flavor and fresh. This was my first time here and we'll be back! Excellent service, cashier was kind and helpful with making choices. This Bonchon needs improvement. Been here twice and the wings are dry. I have bonchon where I live, quite a few actually. The wings are never this dry. Also the pickled radish that I was given had gross black spots like they had bugs or something. Also, to counter girl: pickled radish = daikon. read more

This Bon Chon location is a fast casual set up as opposed to their other sit down locations hence their menu is a little different. You order at the counter and they call out your order when it's ready. There is a self serve soda fountain along with multiple tables for self seating. We ordered wings and found it to be on the dry side. Have these been sitting out under a warmer and brushed to order? I think this is something that needs to be worked on as it's their bread and butter. The portion of the sides were a lot bigger than their traditional restaurants so that was a nice bonus. This place is good for a quick lunch (this location offers a chicken sando), but I wouldn't go out of my way. read more

On the "Good-Meh-Suck" scale, this is a solid "meh-minus". My son was all excited about Bonchon. I have been there twice. Both times I left thinking "what is all the hype about?" The chicken portions are small and feel like all crust. The soy garlic sauce is barely noticeable. I tried the crunchy chicken bowl and it was all rice, very little chicken and was underwhelming. The other time was the boneless chicken and it was just crust. Not much chicken. Perhaps some find this great like my son but for me, I will take a hard pass. read more

I've been to 5 bonchon chains and they all made juice crispy delicious chicken except for this one. I got one of everything on the menu for my big tri family gathering and we shared. Everything was dramatically over cooked and dry. Terrible. I would never come back. You should never go here. If management is reading this, this the biggest fried chicken fail I've tasted in my life, and I've eat fried chicken at many places many times. Worst bonchon Chan. Good: - Bone-in wings: Both the spicy and sweet flavor are great. - Coleslaw, never thought a Korean place would make such good coleslaw. Picked up bulgogi fried rice for lunch. Flavor was ok not outstanding, the portion size was slight. The price with tax for rice and bit of beef was $16.00 way too expensive. This pricing model will not work in Nashua maybe in more metro areas. read more

I've been here twice and had wildly different experiences. The first time the food was amazing, like life-changingly good; everything we ordered (fried chicken, pot stickers, fried rice, and french fries) was hot, fresh, and delicious. At our second visit the chicken was very dry and flavorless, the french fries (admittedly a tough item for takeout) were soggy and taseless, and the fried rice was just okay. I am hoping the bad experience on my second visit was a fluke and they can return to greatness but I am having a hard time convincing my family to try it again. read more

I. Am. Addicted!! I order at least once a week because it is THAT good!! I tried the spicy sauce, and although I love spicy anything, it was a little too spicy. However, the soy/garlic sauce is to die for and is just the right amount of flavor. I agree that the drumsticks get a little lost on flavor so I usually order wings. I have been waiting for this place to open on Amherst Street over by Five Guys and was not disappointed. Some of the best Chicken Wings I have ever had. Crunchy on the outside and juicy inside, they call this Korean Barbecue and it is a winner. I thought their Onion Rings were a little overpriced but not bad. They offer two types of seasoning on the chicken, a Soy Ginger (fabulous) and a hot & spicy (I have not tried yet but will soon). Chicken Sandwiches, Wings, Boneless and with bones. Spicy was Cayenne pepper not Korean spice. I don't know what the garlic wings tasted like all the wings were dry and tasteless. Some business makes a good product, this one won't make it. The atmosphere and decor is great. It was clean too and the service was decent. However, the food was only fair. For $18, I got two cups fried rice (admittedly pretty good) with about 1/4 cup very diced chicken. Not worth the money. Maybe try the fried chicken. That looked good. read more

I really wanted to like this Bonchon as I love my local one in Salem but it just wasn't as good. The interior is nice and the line went fast, so that's a plus. They seemed to have a more limited menu compared to both Lowell and Salem, MA locations. My dining partner and I got the boneless wings (mild) which came with coleslaw (this was actually nice). The wings were dry and overcooked and frankly I can get much better with more flavor at the Wegmans cafe. We also ordered chicken katsu for later. This was a heaping mound of sticky yet somehow flavorless rice with two sauces (neither of which was labeled); one sauce was super spicy, moreso than any katsu sauce I've had at other restaurants and the other tasted like soy gravy and was pretty gross. The chicken in this dish was okay but the sauces ruined the whole experience. I would keep heading up the road and get some good food from TKK Chicken next time and avoid this Bonchon location! read more
