Had such a wonderful experience at Bonchon Eagan. The servers were quick, nice, ready, understanding, and helpful. And the food... well it is unbeatable here! We ordered the tteokbokki, the chicken tacos, and the combo with soy garlic seasoning. Loved every single dish and finished it all! Enjoyed the chicken so much that I bought more to-go. For those who are still exploring Korean food, this is a great place to start. For those who are no longer novices at Korean food but are craving some warm and delicious dishes, this is a great place to visit. What are you waiting for? Come to Bonchon Eagan! I'm giving this place five stars. I've dined in once here and gotten takeout twice. Look, there are not many restaurants out there that have a nicer staff. The kind that help you to have a good experience at their restaurant. This just doesn't exist at places where an entree costs less than 30 bucks. I had my five year old with me and as boys his age do, made an incredible mess. The staff helped me clean it up, replaced the dish he ruined...I didn't even ask them to, I was just going to chalk it up as a combat loss. And they were so nice to my boy even after he got messy. I really appreciated that. So I've gotten wings each time I've been there. Tried all their sauces. They are all very good. I don't complain about the high price or quality of the wings like the others in the bad reviews here, because contrary to what these whiners say, everywhere is experiencing price increases and quality decreases. And honestly, the quality is not bad here. They are expensive though. But the wings are very good. I got fried rice a couple times, just plain no meats. I'm not a big fan of fried rice but my kid likes it so its awesome. Udon. Tried it once, it was decent. If you like udon, theirs should suit you. I'm looking forward to trying a couple other things in next visits. I wish the chicken katsu was pork though. We are Bonchon fans and this is a new Eagan location. Love the SPICY chicken wings & drums...amazing flavor and the perfect crispiness! We tried the Lunch Bibimbap-even though it came in the stone bowl, the rice didn't get to the "crispy rice" stage I adore in my dolsot bibimbap. I love Bonchon but I still don't understand why you would not include a little kimchi with the entrees ($3 as a side). read more

I've gone to plenty of bonchons but for lunch today the sizing of the wings were sooo small one was literally the smaller than my thumb a one bite chicken. Their sauces are great but I can't justify spending money on tiny chicken wings. read more

New location as of this review. No liquor license yet. Chicken was bomb, but you know that. If you didn't then you don't know Korean fried chicken. Reviews for a chain restaurant are weird. But I did like the pricing on the lunch special, made it seem like a square fair deal. We need more places like these. Why not 5 stars? I believe in hyperbole free ratings, and I've been to other bonchons (Philadelphia location is nuts by comparison). This is a simple fast casual location and I hope it succeeds for a long long time. We thought from the sign it was a takeout chicken joint. We were wrong - they have takeout but judging from the number of orders it isn't a secret anymore, they were putting orders non stop. First trip to Bon Chon and first Korean fried chicken meal. Did not disappoint. Ordered boneless wings (half and half) with coleslaw. It was so crispy and delicious. Ate: Spicy Wings (spicy), onion rings, slaw. Ok. If u haven't had these wings I'll help. They r (as described) double deep fried. Texture/stickiness equal to a 'well known' Chinese American Fast Casual "Sesame Chicken, Peking Chicken.....". Who ALSO double deep fry certain chicken entrees. I knew that--- tried anyway. Just not for me. Neither is "The Other place". I also feel both of these restaurants overcook chkn...the biggest bummer. I prefer broasted or light fry on my wings (any chicken), so I'll stick 2 that. A few local spots hit that mark 4 me. Coleslaw was great: light. Onion Rings were great: THICK cut, breaded not battered. I'm also a stronger fan of BATTERED not breaded but they were a LARGE side and fresh! I first tried Bonchon in NYC and was so excited that I almost fell of the couch when I saw that they are finally here in MN too...and in Eagan of all places. Double yay! I wasn't sure that my husband would be impressed with our meal. So, I didn't even give him the opportunity of picking out an item because I wanted him to experience the glory of tasting "Korean style fried chicken", as he'd never had it before. I sneakily placed an order for dinner and told him we just needed to pick it up. Boom! (Let's just call it an executive decision on my part.) Well...he ended up LOVING, Bonchon; as I knew he would (wink). We ordered 2 combos, the 10 wing, 5 drumstick combo ($16)-half/half (soy garlic, spicy) and the 12 boneless wings ($16). My husband prefers boneless wings (so I got half soy garlic, half sweet chili). Both combos come with a choice of pickled Daikon radish or coleslaw. We got one with each combo to sample them but honestly they're were both meh. For wings, I always prefer boned in. Boneless to me is not a chicken wing. That's a chicken nugget I grumble. BUT, I have to say that these boneless wings were incredible and dare I say now that I am a fan! The regular wings were fabulous! My god, insanely good, so good in fact (all super crispy and just bomb) that he's now a fan! That's a win win! We both came out of the Bonchon experience with a new appreciation for something we'd each usually shy away from. We also ordered the fried rice $12, with added bulgogi ($2.30). Thank god we did or the wings would not have been enough. Those tiny measly should really be considered a condiment, not a side. I wish you could add on single pieces of fried chicken or a few extra wings instead of being forced to order an entire other whole entree. Just hear me out! Why couldn't we add a few al a carte wings or another drummy or 2. But y tho? My only gripe...tiny dumplings for $11? And 4 measly shumai for like $10. Sheesh that is steep. But I digress. The food is truly delicious. It really is! And that's why I will keep going back. The Korean fried chicken is simply the BEST as far as I'm concerned. Just a fair warning though, the food is very expensive (cue sad violin and wallet shedding a tear). NYC prices but in Minnesota-Oh ok. Over $60 for boneless wings and the reg wings with drumsticks, fried rice, dumplings and shumai. Yikes! Luckily I placed a pick up order through DoorDash because I had a 25% off coupon. I tried going on the website and spotted some of the menu items but at at a higher price point than DoorDash, which kinda surprised me. At these prices, we'll likely order less frequently or as an occasionally treat. As I said above, I was bummed that the only included sides to choose from are the pickled radish or coleslaw. A bit of Kimchi on the side is usually customary at many Korean restaurants and I wanted to have it but at almost $3 extra to add to an already expensive takeout tab, it had to be a hard pass. I contemplated hard on whether to take off a star or not because of high prices. The food is definitely 5+ star worthy, but $60+ dollars for 2 for a takeout meal is a little steep and I think it will inevitably deter some diners from giving Bonchon a try. I'll still say give them a try. Go ahead treat yo self! Yolo! Their wings alone are will keep you coming back. Hopefully they'll start offering coupons if you sign up for a rewards program on the website. Coming from vegas dont really write reviews. The chicken is all consistently cooked and we had 3 orders of 10 wings. The wings all had a perfect outer shield thats lightly crispy. The heat on the chicken stings the tongue like a habanero but goes away in about 5 seconds. The smoky chili flavored korean wings pacts an unforgettable f****** taste that makes it distinct from thai chili wings. I placed a to go order for 20 wings half and half and seasoned fries online on Saturday around 4pm. Took 15mins to receive a text saying its ready. When i got there i clicked the text message and entered my car info. After waiting 4mins for curbside, i decided to go in and grabbed the food. They were busy with customers, it wasn't a big deal. Grabbed my food and left at least it was ready. When i got home i noticed the wings gotten smaller and less drummies. BLUF: Over-priced, and 'meh' I think the five star reviews are from people starved for post-covid food. Regardless, I believe it's not fair to try a place once and review it, so I will say I've been here four times and have tried different things. You can pass on the "must try" items (i.e. Tacos- just spicy, no flavor); ten deep fried wings -both versions taste good, but at a whopping $13.55 there's better options out there. And a small bag of fries sprinkled with powdered Parmesan cheese for $6.95?! Pass. Plain fried rice -in both ingredients and taste- at an incredulous $$10.95. But not to worry, that location is known for a really high restaurant attrition rate, so maybe we'll get something good on the next go-round. read more

The 12 dollar 10 piece wings were so small. The taste was good but way too small, potstickers were flat flavor not crisp there was not any dipping sauce for either Of them. The Tteokbokki was quite good The bonchon wrap was good I had them add bulgogi to the wrap which was fine but the bulgogi had no flavor. Service was nice quick efficient and quite clean this was wonderful to see. I thought what we paid vs what we were given was very expensive. I order here quite frequently. When I first started ordering out the food and service was exceptional. Lately though I have been disappointed. I used to brag to friends that no matter if they ordered take-out or dine-in the food was always hot, fresh, and delicious. That is no longer the case. The last few times I've ordered the food was warm at best and even cold on occasion. The seasoned fries are the main issue here. You used to be able to tell they were made at the time of ordering and were hot and crispy. I made a point of telling my friends this and that they needed to make sure to order them. That's no longer true. My last order was lukewarm and not crispy. They had obviously been made well ahead of my ordering. I even had an order recently where several were not even cooked through and cold in the center. Luckily the chicken has been edible but even that doesn't seem to be made fresh when you order. The service has remained consistent. It's fast and the staff are friendly and courteous but that will not keep me coming back if the food quality does not return to what I remember when I first started going here. I would gladly accept longer wait times for food that is made when I order it than food that has obviously been made in anticipation of the lunch rush. My order is often ready in less than 20 minutes which would be great if it wasn't for the mediocre food quality of late. I would gladly wait twice that long for freshly made food. Unfortunately, I will no longer be able to rave about the food here. I have already told a couple of friends that they probably should not eat here as the quality has dropped precipitously and does not show signs of improving. I hope I am wrong as this was easily one of my favorite lunch destinations. What a shame. read more
