If you check out the places I usually Check-In to, you'll see that most are Korean Restaurants!…read moreYes, I love Korean food and, most especially, Korean Grilled dishes. It's my go-to food when I've had a long week or I just want a very good, filling meal. Korean food = Joey will have a happy tummy! :3 Matgalne specializes in Unlimited Barbecue + Buffet. For lunch, the buffet is only Php349; for dinner, it's only Php449. I always go here for dinner so that I don't have to worry about how long I can eat. For the meat options, you get the samgyupsal, chadolbagi (beef bacon), yangnyum galbi (pork rib with special sauce) and bulgogi. I personally just order the Samgyupsal and Chadolbagi because I don't like switching the grill pan too often. With the unlimited meat for the gril, you also have the Korean dish buffet which includes a station where make your own Bibimbap. The dishes I recommend are the Fried Sweet Potato Balls, Korean Fried Chicken, Fried Japchae, Kimbap and the different Kimchis! The staff is very accommodating and they make sure that your plates of meat are always full. They also cook for you and change the grill pans when they see that your meat is not cooking fast enough. :) My happy place :)

The Good: Great food! Amazing value at P450 for a dinner buffet!…read more The Bad: The place isn't the cleanest. There's no free parking The Pro-tip: Try the Beef Bacon and the Fried Fish Fingers - these are my personal favorites Let me start with this: WE LOVE KOREAN FOOD. Matgalne is no exception! Unli-Korean buffet: Bottomless samgyupsal and beef bacon (which you cook on a grill on your table) and a wide buffet spread with a decent selection of Korean favorites? Yes please! While the restaurant may not be the cleanest, the food is definitely top-notch! How can we tell? Aside from the fact that we eat a lot of Korean Food, this place is filled with actual Koreans all-the-time! There's no better sign of quality! My personal favorites from this place includes: Samguypsal, Beef Bacon, Japchae, Fried Japchae, Fried Fish Fingers, Korean Fried Chicken and Kimchi Will we be coming back? More twice a week sometimes! Haha!

Place was pretty clean. Staff was all over the place and not organized for the crowd. The price was decent 880 php and the price was not even labeled in the entrance to know how much you would be spending. You can use your US citizen ID for their senior discounts. Just have to ask... They had lots to offer from korean to Japanese food. On your table, there is a grill to cook many of their raw meats and seafood. They also have marinated meats. We didn't try the grilled meats as I really didn't want cook my food this time. They do have a lot to offer for prepared foods. We tried almost everything but some of the food was kind of blah or too salty. The kimchi fried rice was dry. The veggie pancakes was pretty good. Their sushi roll were ok but not fresh. Soups were too salty. They even had pasta dishes were only ok. The fresh juices were good like their shakes. Many of the desserts were ok but I liked the tiramisu and gelato the best. Even their chocolate fountain just tasted like Hershey chocolate mix and didn't even taste good on the marshmallows, etc?! Not sure I would come back here again! I even had to chase down the waiters to get our bill or to retrieve our payment! Not the greatest service. I would rather pay double the price at Shangrila buffet than here! I would only give this place 2.5 stars. [18/100]

In this place, there are meal plans either korean/japanese or collab(Korean/Japanese/Philippines) i was passing through the last spread for the Korean/Japanese section and a staff came to me, asking me where is my Collab ID, i said I don't have it, where can i get it? he said in the reception... of course i know we are Korean/Japanese meal plan only but he told not to get anything from the dish on the "palayok". I said i'm not looking on those Areas anyway why does he assumes the worst in people? and will take some Food were we are not allowed???? They could have made a barrier between the last items on the K/J meal plan spread and the Collab table to avoid these incident. Halo halo is not that special, ice are bigger and syrup from the canned ingredients are also included.

For me, there were two stand-out dishes: First, the pork and beef wrapped in salad greens topped with their special sauce. I'm not really a fan of pork but I tried it because my cousin told me it was the signature dish of Don Day. It did taste good, I have to say, but it was quite fatty so I stopped after a few strips. I focused more on the beef which also mixed well with the salad greens and the sauce. Second, my favorite bibimbap. Don Day served many vegetables for their bibimbap and I made sure I took a portion from each of them. I tailor-made the sauce to not only be spicy but also slightly garlicky and with lots of sesame oil. I also made it a point to put in more vegetables than rice. That's the advantage of getting to mix your own bowl. You can make it suit your taste. There were other delicious dishes. Unfortunately, I am not familiar with their names so allow me to stop here. Just visit Don Day and try them out.

One of them was Don Day, an eat-all-you-can Korean joint. For P299, you can indulge in their buffet. For an added P100, you can avail unlimited sam gyeop sal (pork belly) and beef brisket! I love the unlimited banchan options and the salad greens! Even if you don't get the grilled meat buffet, you can make the most out of it by eating the ban chan and meat dishes by wrapping them in the leaves!

This is one of those hole-in-the-wall places the locals love to go to and only know about. We came here late Wednesday evening and they were open till 10p. They offer two kinds of thin slices of meat to fry while they have japchae, spicy tofu soup, veggie pancake, breaded fish that was soggy with sauce, sautéed mushrooms, two different styles kim chi, and others. Selections were small and ok. I think the only thing I really liked here is the meat, tofu soup, and japchae but I heard the price is very cheap for this buffet. They do still have the traditional peanut sauce, and peanut oil with salt n pepper for your meats. They do offer alcohol and sodas. The place was small and only had a few parking places in front. Was crowded so this means it's popular with the locals. You can make reservations. There AC is blasting so if you sit by the AC, the burners will blow out like us. Our meats were not being cooked continuously but the servers, helped to solve that issue. For all-u-can-eat food, really cheap price per person and good customer service, I would come back...

It's right across Piandre Salon and Eat Fresh in Little Baguio, San Juan. The food selection at the buffet is quite small but very good. The dishes I always go for are the buttered corn, bacon-wrapped dokbokki, fried fish, the bulgogi and the banchans. Once you are seated, they give you wooden trays of meat: a mix of pork and beef trays. Thinly sliced, ready to crisp on the grill! They will continue serving the trays until you tell them to stop! Honestly, don't stop until I've had a total of 10 trays! This is an awesome dining experience for only Php299. Drinks are not included but you can order a Liter of regular coke. They have Korean ice cream here too; Php65 for the gold fish ice cream! I suggest that you make a reservation if you plan to eat here during peak hours. Also, skip the rice! Just enjoy all the meat that you can eat! :D
