I like Bonchon. It's consistent, it's fast, and it's delicious! Everytime we order from here, we've never had an issue. There aren't too many options for Korean food around here, so I'm glad they are around! Our favorites to order are the bao buns, the mopo corn dog, and the wings! They also have great dipping sauces available. It's usually not crazy busy before noon, but they do have a solid lunch rush. Parking lot can be a bit of a mess when it's busy, but it's worth it. Food good, meal deal and package for to go great but service needs some work on. We came in to pick up our order. I was standing by the register and could see my order already ready for me to take but I'm not going to go around their counter and just take it. Waiting still another person walks in, then an employee comes out, he asks the guy that just walked in what he needed...I spoke up confused why I was ignored and said I'm picking up my order. Employee didn't even say sorry. I looked to check if I got everything I ordered and then another employee comes out and then asks if I need help? I said no. Everything was there except for the other ranch but I didn't want to talk to any employees there anymore after being ignored and bypass to the person that came after me. I had always had a good experience here the past times I've gone with the other employees but the ones on a Sunday evening did not keep me happy. Wow this place has tasty fried chicken. I went there with a couple of coworkers and while I've been at a Korean BBQ before I wasn't sure what to expect from this. I was in for a treat. The spicy stuff is spicy and delicious. However if you order a combo plate, I suggest you start with the non-spicy first so that you can have a progression in the taste. The space is modern with very nice touches like the elaborate lighting. After stopping by Costco during their grand opening weekend, we discovered that there was a Bonchon minutes away! This is a Bonchon "to-go" location, so the restaurant is quite small with only a few dine-in tables and seats inside and outside. The worker who took our order was very friendly and recommended we try the Yangnyeom flavor which is sweet, savory, and a bit spicy. The other flavor we chose was soy garlic. Yangnyeom wasn't our favorite and the soy garlic tasted a bit too tangy. We originally wanted to try the KBBQ flavor and wish we had gotten that instead. Overall, the service was great because of the worker, but the food was just okay. The breading is very thick which is typical across all Bonchon locations. It was also a bit pricey, nearly $50 for all of food in the photos. read more

I order the same thing there as this location and there was a very very big difference in food quality and taste. This place was ridiculously great! I don't eat meat but my family does and I was able to get the JAPCHAE* without meat. Glass noodles, red pepper, carrots, onions, spinach, mushrooms, and bulgogi stir-fried with Soy Garlic sauce and sesame oil topped with sesame seeds. My husband ordered the chicken wings and potstickers and absolutely loved it! My kids loved it too when we brought it home for them to try. Their onion rings were off the chain good too!! Bonchon chicken is very good. My favorite is the Korean style, non-spicy. The service is quick and in interior is small with limited seating. The drum sticks are fairly large. Well have ti give it a try Ordered a 24 pack wings and a 8 pack wings and told them give me 16 spicy and 16 garlic! Well reviews were wrong! They were not dry but delicious and tasty The spicy wings is a little more spicy than a normal spice but actual lit your lips with a wonderful flavor. Garlic wings very moist also. Kimchee is very tasty! Kimchee salad very nice also. Had ranch dressing (extra) to cool the flavor of the spicy wings! So to my surprise, I cannot see where this restaurant was average at a low 3 star... must of been something wrong there.. this was a 4.75 rating. Absolutely delicious!! Not all Bonchons are created equal. Sadly, I echo a lot of the sentiments for this location. The plain chicken was seriously plain! Zero seasoning, but it was nice and crunchy. On the other side of flavor scale, the spicy was really hot! The only flavor that seemed consistent and on the money was the soy garlic. The sides are measly! The coleslaw literally came in a small condiment container. The "double" orders of pickled radish and fries were better, but considering they were part of a family meal, it was definitely not enough to feed a family. Surprisingly, the Japchae was the star of the meal! I ordered one XL Family meal ($57.30), 30 wings ($52.74) and a Japchae ($19.50) for six and if we didn't have other food to supplement, it would not have been enough. None of us are huge eaters either. My order also kept getting pushed back for delivery. I ordered at 6:45pm with an ETA of 7:45pm. Didn't get delivered until 8:15pm. There's only one guy up front taking and giving orders. My order was finally ready at 12:10pm. That is a really long wait: 40 min. Furthermore the family meal is a combo of wings and drumsticks. The sides are fries, radish, or kimchee. I ordered a large radish which was equivalent to three small sauce containers. That serving portion is ridiculous. The chicken was just okay today. This Bonchon is located in Brentwood on Canada Valley. I am familiar with Bonchon and I love it, so I couldn't wait for this one to open. So, today was the day we got a chance to go. I saw the ratings and it was mediocre but I still wanted to see for myself. This one is counter-served and had two tables inside. But they had a few outside dining. But not so ennoble because there too many flies outside. The ones I e been too had a few indoor seating. Food: the chicken was good, I can taste the soy and that spicy flavor on my chicken and... it was crispy as expected. The coleslaw tasted fresh which was a plus. The rest of the food was ok. Service: it wasn't the best service. Customer service need more training on how to approach and talk to customers. The person preparing the food was nice nice to their cashier. The food did take long, she did warn us it would take longer than usual but it took long. I wasn't as hungry when we got out food I didn't finish and we took more food home than usual. I am so happy we have a Bon Chon in the neighborhood now! This is a great sign of some good changes to happen in the Brentwood/Antioch area. More foodie places should follow! I'm from the South Bay where we are so spoiled from all the great food so I am happy we have this here. I came here during Super Bowl Sunday and grabbed a box of my regular combo of drums and wings, 3 sides and a drink. I only waited for about 10 mins and the chicken came out fresh and hot. There is a table to two for people to dine in but this Bon Chon is more like an express where food is to-go. I wish it was a sit-down place but it's not and that is ok to me. The cashier was this young kid who was nice and respectful. It also looked like there was only 1 person working in the kitchen. Not sure if it's just me but the prices are cheaper than the locations in Sunnyvale, Mountain View, and San Jose. This is a phenomenal and very affordable, trust me, I know. Using the BonChon website I ordered online for pick-up. I was given a time that the order would be ready. Arrived there on-time and was told the order wasn't ready. Had to wait 25 minutes for the order. By the time I got home (5 min away) the bulgogi fries were completely soggy and the chicken was not crispy at all. The boneless tenders way overcooked, chewy and not enjoyable at all. The fried rice was ok but very little flavor and a very small portion for what they charge. $150 completely wasted. Will not return. I suggest you save your money and eat elsewhere, the food here looks OK in the photos but what you are actually served is not where near that quality. If the price was HALF of what it currently is it would still be a bad deal and the quality of the food would still not be worth it. read more

Being a chain restaurant, I'd expect the same food would be offered from location to location. I know Bon Chon from So City and love the local location there. Prices are fair and serving portions are generous. I was excited to find a Bon Chon in the East Bay. The first time we ordered, husband ordered tenders and it didn't match up to the usual tenders we got in So SF, fine. We may have ordered incorrectly. Recently went back, the kids craved it. Looking at the menu, boneless chicken was the closest equivalent to our usual order, but 10 pcs was over $21 ordered for pick up through DoorDash. When I googled the location, ordering through an app was recommended. I didn't realize you can order directly through the location where 10 pcs is 17.99. In my bag, I get a card suggesting ordering through them directly for a better price - so why offer ordering through food apps to raise the prices? We get the food and the portion was it's small. Basically, 10 boneless wings for over $22. The food was dry and mediocre at best. When husband compared locations, the calorie count at this location is significantly lower than other Bon Chons but cost if definitely the same or higher. Will not be coming back. read more

For a chain restaurant you'd think there would be better food standards!. We ordered 2 Korean style chicken sandwiches with fries at 1:30 pm yesterday for $27. My guess is they had leftovers from lunch. Because our chicken sandwiches were hard and dry like cardboard. This only happens when it's deep fried again. Food takes forever and they will do anything to not give you wings. I had to ask for an equal amount of wings in my mixed box after opening it and seeing 5 out of mixed box of 20. This is the 2nd time this has happened. They took the box to the back and said they gave me wings. Went home to see them just bury the same amount of wings under the drums. Gosh, this location needs to be shutdown. First and foremost, I've been to other Bonchon locations in San Mateo, San Bruno and even in other countries but this location is by far the worst. I ordered 8 pieces of boneless chicken + bulgogi fries last night for pick up. Bulgogi fries were okay but the '8 pieces' of boneless chicken I got was laughable. It seriously looks like leftovers they just threw in for my order. When I opened up the food at home, I let out an audible gasp just because it looked like it were leftovers. While the pieces were SO small and dry, it is insanely coated with batter and I'm left with very thin pieces of chicken. Had I opened up my order in the car, I would've went back in to complain. Bon Chon Corporation needs to shut this place down, we purchased their Soy Garlic Chicken bone in and it is cooked surrounded by thick hard batter and the soy garlic sauce they dipped their wings in was horrible, had after taste. It was not the same Bon Chon Chicken I love. Their Japchae noodles tasted super bland. It was horrible, I honestly wasted money. I should have listened to all the horrible comments I read on here, but wanted to give benefit of the doubt.
