It was a good shop a long time ago but not any more. More expensive than several other places I've been to. It's just near house so it's convenient. The guy couldn't assure me that he can fix my car but still want to charge me 150 for trying. I shopped around and found more reliable places. I came here because I'd had one too many visits to Miller Toyota. I sat in their waiting room and looked at Yelp reviews for mechanics after they handed down yet another expensive repair they wanted to do. They always looked like they were afraid you'd catch them doing something they shouldn't. Gave me the creeps. Well, Bona's place was pretty close to where I was and had great reviews except for one person who claimed Bona only fixed Toyotas. While I doubt that considering how many reviews mentioned other makes of cars, I was sold because hot dog! I drive a Toyota. Cool. And I haven't been disappointed. The prices are reasonable and he gets my car back on the road. And that repair that Miller Toyota mentioned? Yeah, I needed part of it. Not all of it right away, all at once. Called early to ask for prices for an oil change and they said it was $30 for a 2000 Ford Mustang; which is fair and not bad compared to other places which charged at least $35-$40. I went at around 1pm and they finished the job in 40-50 minutes. It's a good thing they have nice furniture and wi-fi to keep you occupied. There's also a subway and burger king just down the street. The guy with a beard and mustache was very friendly and even mentioned what other problems the car had, but I didn't have enough money for it ): Overall good service and friendly people :) read more

L O C A T I O N : It's this auto shop located between Magnolia and Gilbert across from Burgertown. To go to this place you would have to enter the second entrance of the "plaza" coming from the 91 freeway. There are also many other auto shops near Bona's but you would find this specific shop at the right corner of the auto shop lot. It's a little tricky to maneuver through the lot especially when it's busy in the morning, but whoever is in need of service is free to park in any open space as long it doesn't block the one way lot route. S H O P : Bona's Auto Repair consists of repair stations located on the right side of garage when you enter. You would also find a lovely waiting area to your left with some fancy furniture, a television set and is also accompanied by magazines near by to kill some time if needed. There is also a bathroom located on the farther right corner of the shop as well. Between the waiting area and bathroom would be their office where all the business happens. O W N E R S H I P : The shop is family owned. The owners are very friendly and made me right feel at home. I had a nice conversation with the owner's wife who was working in the business office and offered me tea. She was such a sweet lady! S E R V I C E : The service was great! You could easily tell that they are very passionate about the work they put and care so much about customer satisfaction. I came here twice to get my break pads fixed for my 1999 Acura 3.2 TL--one time for my rear breaks and the second time for my front breaks. The issue with my breaks before was that my car breaks would vibrate whenever I would decelerate and would making these squeaky sounds whenever I would attempt to put my car into reverse. But after I got it fixed at Bona's, no more vibrations and no more squeakiness! It amazed me how quick they fixed it too--I would say it was no more than a 2 hour wait for both visits combined. Another thing that I love about this shop is that if you don't want to wait at the shop they have a loaner car customers can use if they have somewhere else to be. I am definitely one happy customer! =) I'm more than likely to come back if anything else happens to my car. I would recommend anyone to go there for their cars. Called to make an appointment for an oil change based upon the yelp reviews. The woman on the phone was very nice and got me the soonest open appointment after the holiday. When I got there the same woman was there and greeted me. They quickly took my car in and said it would be an hour. We left and came back about an hour and 10 minutes later and my car was ready. Very happy that yelp guided me to Bona's. I have always felt that anything related to a car (service, gas, sale) is a big squeeze on the consumer. Any seller always wants to push and find out the limit to which he can squeeze $$'s before consumer takes or threatens to take business elsewhere. Well, Bona's bucked the trend for me. They are people of integrity and industry. When I took my car for an oil change, they did not insist on me getting several other components repaired. They did their thing. Radio was playing Michael Jackson's thriller. They danced to it while efficiently working on the 3 cars being serviced. In the past year I have had batteries replaced on both my cars, oil changes etc performed at Bona's. Their price is comparable or less than chains like Firestone etc. but their service is very superior. I have yet to wait more than 30 minutes on any of my appointments. I recommend this place for anyone who doesn't want to be squeezed by sales minded service places. read more

This is my second time here getting an oil change. The first time I came they did a quick and great job but make sure you arrive early since it gets busier Saturday afternoons. Marisa (Bona's wife) is superr nice. The first time I came here she bought some donuts and offered it to all the customers. This time around, they didn't have my oil filter so they had to special order it while I was there. It took a couple hours for the part to arrive but she made me feel right at home. She gave me a water bottle and kept me company while I was waiting. She is super sweet. Courtesy of the long wait, she gave me a $50 gift certificate for a facial spa (which is up for sale) lol JK. I was getting a bit impatient.. I haven't given a review in years but was compelled to write something for this business. First, thank you fellow yelpers for guiding me to this place. I had called around 10 or so different shops and they were more expensive than this place and all the others quoted a price but did not include disposal fees and such on their final price which is misleading. Sure, it was only for an oil change but money is tight these days and every little bit helps. I also feel that service as simple as an oil change speaks volumes in terms of the quality and integrity of a business when it comes to doing some major work/repair. The business tucked in the corner of a strip mall of garages all doing car work...so fyi this is not a stand alone business you pull into. You are in the trenches when you walk in to the garage; they have a 5 person couch with a table full of magazines, a tv with the news on and a fan blowing cold air (it was warm out..Maybe the fan was ice fed) allowing you to sit comfortably and literally watch them work on your baby/pos depending on your situation. The ladies running the small office was very friendly and everyone seemed to be in good spirits even the mechanics which was pretty infectious. I sat next to a chatty fellow who told me he had been a customer for 5yrs and he wouldn't trust anyone else touch his truck. He kept talking about his truck and was looking at it with a glazed look in his eyes like a proud parent watching his kid accomplish something for the first time so I knew if it was good enough for this guy, then it's good enough for me. Sure enough before I knew it my car was done and when I went to pay it was the exact quote she gave me over the phone including, disposal and any other fees associated the service so I was pleasantly surprised. All future car works will go to Bona's for their great service and positive and knowledgeable staff who truly cares about what they do. I am thankful and glad to have my Bona's serve so early in the morning. From now on I recommend giving my newly found Bona's a try...you will be leaving a satisfied customer! read more

This shop is in the corner of an auto - repair plaza and you'll notice right away that it seems to be a family/friends run business. They are very friendly and did the job (oil change and tire pressure) very quickly, all while being directly in front of you. I cannot stress how important this is, with the auto repair industry being the way that it is, these people don't have anything to hide. I went to "another local auto repair shop" and though they had cheaper prices, they always tried to sell me repairs I knew I didn't need and one time, one of the workers stole CASH from my locked dashboard. My wife and I have been going to Bona for the better part of 4 years. After discovering this gem of a repair shop on Yelp, we decided to give it a shop. We've switched cars in that time, but we have't switched mechanics. Bona does an incredible job taking care of our vehicles, and his wife takes great care of us! They are very accommodating of our busy work schedules, and if you plan in advance, there's no reason they can't make it work for you. I also appreciate how thorough they are without up-selling us unnecessarily. Not once have we had a recommendation from Bona that didn't make complete sense or was overdue to take care of. In our first experience with Bona, we received a quote from Toyota for a replacement valve in my wife's Prius. In total the work amounted to slightly more than $1,000. Bona quoted us $267 for the same part and same work. Except Bona did NOT include: - A terrible attitude - Difficulty scheduling - Excessive up-selling Despite missing these fantastic "perks", we went with Bona and never looked back. When my car broke down they fixed it in two hours and the wife even helped me entertain my 5-year-old and when we left she gave us a bag of fruit from her garden. I called for an estimate on a fuel pump replacement and the person who answered the phone responded with "sorry but we focus on Toyotas" so I asked you don't do any other cars then? She said no. Why? I'm new to the area, so had to find a new go-to place for taking care of my car. I think I was very lucky to find Bona's, thanks Yelp! About the service: I have a Nissan Versa 2007, just got to 30 k miles. Needed oil change, tire rotation, and check fluids, battery, and brakes... Also the weather stripping on both back doors were coming off. Good value and fair: I expected whoever was did the service to try and talk me into doing a bunch of service because 30k is kind of a milestone for cars. That didn't happen at Bona's, they had a package that included everything I needed, service and parts, for $160. That was the price range I was expecting, so I believe it's fair. Courteous: I was treated very courteously, as if they knew me a long time. They even drove me to my place so I didn't have to walk, and offered to pick me up when they were done as well. Honest: When I picked up the car, Bona took the time to talk to me and let me know what he had done, and didn't charge me for the weather stripping since all that was needed was to push it back in place. When I asked about my battery, told me that I didn't need to replace it yet (last mechanic told me that it wouldn't last me more than a few months, that was almost six months ago now...). I plan on taking my car to Bona's again for any car service. read more

And I'm back, a third time. After the last few experiences, this is the first and only place I think of for getting my car fixed up. This time was the brakes again because I had a *bit* of a can't-effectively-stop-without-brakes-failing-and-smoking-and-smelling-like-fiery-death-going-down-a-huge-hill-in-palm-springs issue that I needed to look into. When I drove up, they already had their three bays filled with cars, but prioritized repairs really well instead of just making you wait while other cars sit there, not being worked on, like some other places coughcoughpepboyscough. They looked at the brakes and found that they're fine, and actually showed me the brake pads so I could see for myself that there was at least 75% left. They explained that there's nothing there for them to make money off of me with, which I think is outstandingly honest. I'm still wary of repair shops from all of the sketchy ones I've had to go to, but this place still surprises me. They respect your car as much as you do, and they respect you and your wallet to boot! They also showed me the front rotors, which had some heat damage from a while ago, and explained that that might have made the brake problem worse. I ended up getting the front rotors and pads replaced/upgraded (which fixed the wobbly brakes, the squeaking brakes, and the scary brakes), and asked for an oil change too. Speaking of prioritizing, they did the oil change while they waited for the parts to be delivered, which happened quickly anyway. I ended up leaving the place after all of this, with a full brake inspection, new rotors, new pads, an oil change, and a test to make sure the brakes were installed right, in under an hour and a half. Holy. Crap. If I was at a chain place, there's a damn good chance my car wouldn't have been touched in an hour and a half, but here I was already paid and gone! The price wasn't cheap, but it was completely reasonable and it wasn't even a question that I wasn't getting gouged. I'm borderline dumbfounded with how honest, fast, and reasonably priced they are and I'm super comfortable with going back in the future for visit #4. read more

On a Friday at around 4pm my fiancé and I took her Accord, that desperately needed an oil change, to Oily's, but they had an hour and a half to two hour wait. With just a quick scan of the auto mall we came across Bona's. We asked Marissa (very friendly) how long the wait would be for an oil change and she said they were just about to close. Although apprehensive they accepted our business and got working. Our car was lifted right in front of us and the total job, including tire pressure check and a quick brake inspection took about 15 to 20 minutes. The price was super affordable, for a full synthetic change although, you're not getting big name brand oil or filter. To top it off she even threw in a free t-shirt. I am so excited!!!! This is my first review and never thought it would be about a mechanic. It is truly hard to find a good trustworthy mechanic. I found Bona's on yelp this morning and with the reviews I saw i decided to give them a try, the worst case scenario was I would walk out. I needed to get the power steering looked at and find out y the check engine light was on. Let me preface by saying i had gone to sears 2 months ago to just get an estimate on getting the power steering fixed the quote was astronomical. They quoted me 1200 dollars for a new power steering pump, hose, and they said the rack and pinion needed to be changed. So with not being able to afford that i kept putting it off but i could not wait anymore because i needed to get smog check and it won't pass with the check engine light on. Well i went in and this was the cleanest auto shop I have ever seen. The owners are a wife and husband team and both are super nice. They checked the car out and he found out it was just not connected well and the sensor needed to be fixed. I got out of there for 140 bucks and my power steering is working again and i could get my smog check. I am pleased to say i would reccomend this place to anyone who asks for a good mechanic they are caring, quick, and fair on pricing. read more

I went to anaheim toyota dealership and asked if they could fix it. The first thing they asked was have I ever service my car at a toyota dealership before. I said no. He wasnt friendly. No smile whatsoever. Then he said I had to pay 47 bucks just to diagnose the problem. Then there would be additional costs to fix it. That is ridiculous!!! Probably there was something stuck in the washer tube or I just needed to replace the nozzle. Then I remembered Bona Auto Repair service from yelp. It's only about a mile away from the dealership. So I went to Bona. Told him my problem, Bona replied with a smile saying he could fix it. My first impression was that wow he was super friendly. True enough after he inspected the car, there was some dirt stuck in the nozzle. He cleaned it up and 5 minutes later my washer sprayer worked like a charm :) When I asked how much, with a smile he said, "It's ok you dont have to pay." I'm more than willing to pay, but as you can see, Bona does not want to rip me off, unlike the toyota dealership. They are about true, courteous, and friendly service. I highly recommend this place. Because of our work schedules I handle most of the auto maintenance in our house and it is refreshing to find a shop that treats me with respect. I have now taken both of our cars to Bona's Auto Repair. One car is early in it's service cycle and the other is a bit older and we are doing our best to keep it running as long as we can. Both needs have been understood and are being met. I recently went in because I read the RAV should have it's spark plugs replaced at @100,000 miles. The guys looked the car over and said...nope you are still good to go. Who does that? They could easily have just said "yep that needs to be done and here is the bill!". I was so impressed. In and out under an hour! Get there early so you don't have to wait. I was there at 9am and was done no later than 10:10! Needed to see what was up with my standard belt. Turns out the tensioner needed replacing. They replaced everything and I paid $220. Honestly not bad at all compared to other places and dealers! It was making weird sounds so I took it to Bona after hearing good things about him. He told me I needed to have my brake pads replaced.
