I booked here being from the area and no longer wishing to drive to my stylist who moved to PA. Initial impression was walking in and having 2 stylists stare at me with no "hello" "welcome" or anything. Just staring until one finally said "someone will be with you". My stylist herself was fine, but didn't ask for inspiration pictures or ask many questions. I booked a partial highlight no cut because Im used to a highlight and cut being 2-3 hours at my former salon due to my thick, fine hair. Imagine my surprise when I am rushed through and my highlight, processing, washing, drying and curling all in 1 hour and 15 minutes. It felt like the Jiffy Lube of salon service and definitely did not resemble good customer service or hospitality. I left feeling like I was an inconvenience to them. Overall I was not wow'd by my result, but the price point was solid. I waited to post this experience which was in May, because I tried a new salon after, to see if maybe I was overreacting to my rushed experience at Bombshell. I was not. My experience at another local salon was about 3 hours for all parts of a partial highlight and a quick dead end trim. My stylist there was brand new to me but took time to hear my wants and to make sure I left satisfied. So having compared to my before and after, I cannot say I would return to Bombshell or recommend to anyone. read more

Waste of time & money. Booked an appointment for an all over color and a haircut-- Paid $205 (excluding tip). OVERPRICED for the service provided. I've gotten overall color, a haircut, and highlights for the same price elsewhere. i've even gone blonde around the same price. Anyway, i only needed a fresh trim on my ends & a minor adjustment to my bangs-- not much done, really. The stylist (Nairi) let me walk out the salon without mentioning the bangs being cut so short. She managed to hide it until i got in the car & at that point, i needed to be somewhere at a certain time so I couldn't even go back to complain. I've had many stylists make mistakes & not apologize to me before I leave the chair, which is so infuriating. It's also why I rarely ever get my hair done anymore, unless i really needed to, but now I might just learn how to do my own hair bcs at least if i were to mess up, i'd mess it up for FREE. Funny, i decided to visit the salon this time around so that i don't mess my bangs up before an event coming up just for that to be the main issue. Talked to the owner Jen who did try to fix the bang, but she couldn't really do much. I thought as a business owner, she'd at least try to compensate for the bad job of an employee by offering a partial refund or something. Nope just said to wait for it to grow back! lovely. I've done my own bangs & have NEVER messed it up like this smh so i essentially (over) paid someone to do a bad job. read more

I I can not speak highly enough about Jen at Bombshell Salon. I have always struggled with thin, short hair, and addressed the issue with tape-ins extensions. Jen did a beautiful job with tape-ins but introduced me to a method of hair lengthening that was perfect for my hair concerns- keratin tips. The extensions bond to each individual stand, rather than sitting at the scalp, and my hair has never looked and felt more beautiful, and natural. I highly recommend for anyone looking for more length, density; and an alternative to other methods. I have received some many compliments and am absolutely in love with my k-tips. read more

I've been getting my hair done by Lorielle for almost 5 years now and she's the best hairdresser I've ever had. First time here, had a minimum length trim with treatment. Everything was what I asked for. Service with Erin was friendly. And it was easy to get an appointment. Conveniently located inside Safeway shopping center. Well kept interior with normal wear and tear. read more

I was recommended bombshell by a friend and decided to get highlights in my hair. They turned out very well and I loved them! Lorielle was my hairdresser and she was very nice and easy to talk to. I came back again over the weekend for some layers and curtain bangs. I had already had layers previously so I didn't think much of getting them touched up. But oh my goodness the hair was very choppy and I was so upset over it(different hairdresser). I called to get it fixed and Tina took me right away the next day, salvaged what she could, and went as far as making time for me to get my hair colored as well! She knows what she's doing and even though it's pricier, it's worth the experience she has. read more

I was driving over an hour from Baltimore to Hartford County to see my normal stylist and finally decided I needed to find someone closer. A friend recommended Rachel and it's safe to say I've found my new go to stylist! Upon arrival I admitted that I wasn't sure what I was looking for but that my hair needed help. Between grown out layers, dead ends and an ongoing battle with the summer humidity I was overwhelmed and didn't have a clue what style might "work." Rachel listened to my laundry list of complaints and suggested a trim to even out my length, remove the old layers which would give my hair a little more volume. She suggested taking off about two inches to start, we wound up going slightly shorter than she'd originally suggested (I actually asked if we could go a bit shorter when she was almost entirely finished, she obliged). I love my new cut! Rachel helped me realize that I didn't need to over complicate; a simple [really great] cut and style was all I needed! I will absolutely go back and I highly recommend her! read more

I was looking for a color specialist who knew how to do balayage on my hair and came across this salon. I went in for a consultation and i immediately loved the place. It's so modern looking and just had a great vibe to it. I had Sydney do the coloring and she is amazing! She really took her time with my hair over 2 hours to be exact to ensure the color was just right. She did so many different colors and techniques (root melt as well) she really did her thing with it. The color came out great just as i wanted it! I will be going back to her! read more

My sister did a Balayage here. First, the quality was not good compared to what we've seen in other salons. Second, the customer service is awful and extremely unprofessional. They quoted us a price and then after the hair was done they said $50 more. They would not admit the price they initially quoted us and were yelling at my family and said we must pay that amount or they will call the police. I cannot believe the way they would lie to a customer and then treat them like this. read more

Sydney at Bombshell salon has done my hair for the last 8 years. I love her and I always love my hair when I leave the salon. It was a no-brainer when deciding who would do my wedding hair. As usual, Sydney was on time, professional, fun and prices were great. She installed a full head of tape in extensions a few days before the event when we did my trial and followed my inso picture to a tee. Six out of eight of my bridesmaids had their hair done by Sydney (she was originally only supposed to do four) but she rolled with the punches with a smile on her face and made my day, and my girls, absolutely perfect. You just can't go wrong with this salon and, especially, Syd. read more

Bombshell Salon is the best salon in Ellicott City. The whole team is professional and friendly. I've been a customer for about 10 years now, and would highly recommend this salon to anyone, men and women. My husband comes here too, he loves the men's cut. They are always current on hair trends, and know how to take good care of your hair. Services are always phenomenal; I've had keratin treatments, deep conditioning, hair cuts and color/highlighting. You're in for a treat coming here! read more

Sydney is a sweetheart! I showed her what I wanted (you know...after looking through every social media outlet ) and she executed. She is an exceptional and talented stylist. I saw her for the first time yesterday and I was so impressed with her work after she finished. Besides an awesome stylist, I love that Bombshell does dry cuts. I haven't had a haircut in a while and it put me at ease to be able to see the look as she's cutting. One other observation that put me at ease is that Bombshell has their color mixing area out in the open. You just want your money's worth, right? Overall, the staff were nice and courteous. The salon floor and each stylists area were kept clean and tidy. I would definitely recommend Bombshell Salon and I testify that the money is worth it! read more

Bombshell Salon - Hand painted baylage on black hair and a haircut. - Hair Salons Near Me - Ellicott City, Maryland

Kira had been recommended to me by my manager. I work at White Oak Tavern, and he cares about his hairstyle just like I care about mine. I'm a guy, and I felt weird going to a salon, lol... My first appointment with her was about eight months ago and I've been going to her since. She does a killer quiff - she guided me through finding what I wanted, and recommended the best product to get the best results day-to-day. I knew I cared about my hair, but I had no clue what I was doing. showed me how to apply the product, and what her thought process is when she does it. Excellent all around. read more

I visited this salon and requested Sierra. First off this salon is beautiful with hair and makeup items available for purchase at the front desk. When Sierra approached me we talked about doing either a color or clear gloss, she didn't really tell me which one she was placing on my hair until I asked when I was getting shampooed. When it was time to wash out the gloss a junior stylist took me to the shampoo station since Sierra was working with another client. I wish I remembered her name because she was amazing. Very professional and her head massage while she shampooed me made me fall asleep several times. (She isn't on the website sadly tried looking her up) Afterward Sierra cut my hair and that was that. I like my cut but wished we talked more about the kind of gloss I wanted since I am a natural red head and was hoping to get a color gloss but instead received clear. The cut is fine and overall Sierra was pleasant just felt like the beginning of the appointment was rushed. read more

Tina at Bombshell is simply amazing! I brought my 16 year old daughter to her after a botched color job at another salon. Her hair looked as if she had strings of brass running through it. She has the most beautiful thick brown hair and just wanted some highlights and interested added to it. Unfortunately, we initially went to a salon that was close and not a salon that specializes in color. In a panic, I called Bombshell! They had been recommended to me in the past but are quite far from where we live. I was so fortunate to reach Tina so I could explain the situation...after all, a 16 year old girl's hair is her lifeline! She was so wonderful from the minute I spoke with her! She fit us in quickly and what an absolute miracle she worked on her hair! It was a multi-step color process followed by a precision cut and style. My daughter was so overwhelmed with what she did! It looked just like the picture she showed her! The transformation is absolutely gorgeous and has given her a much needed boost after the pandemic and other bumps in the road. Tina is an amazing artist and master of her craft! The salon is beautiful and all the stylists are very professional and great at what they do. We will be back! read more

Summary: If you want an amazing color job, ask for Sydney! Even when your hair fades, it looks AMAZING! After my initial review, Sydney reached out to see if I'd like to come back in. So, a few days later I did. She added more color to make sure it wasn't going to fade as fast as it did the first time. She stayed with me the entire time and even offered to style my hair. After two months, my hair still looks AMAZING. Sydney did such an AMAZING coloring job that as it faded from balayage to ombre. I still get so many compliments on my hair. Every time I get a compliment, I sing Sydney praises. Will definitely go back to her whenever I want my hair colored! read more

Overpriced. Poorly managed. Almost destroyed my wedding day. I scheduled my mother, mother-in-law, and sisters to have their makeup done for the wedding. They used the same brushes on multiple faces which is completely unhygienic, they barely put any foundation on the face and the eye shadow wasn't blended. And I asked for mauve and my sisters were wearing bright silver eyeshadow!! My mother's makeup was melting off by the time they got back from the salon and we had to call our bridal party makeup artist to return to patch and fix everyone's face. It's like they didn't use any primer or setting spray. The eyelashes had to be reapplied as well. And then they tried to claim they had no record of the deposit that I paid for and I had to pull up my bank statement from months prior when I set the appointment to prove it. And then they overcharged us by $40 dollars even after receiving a tip from my Mother In Law. Almost ruined all of our pictures. Definitely would never go back. read more

Love love LOVE this place! I have been going for about a year now and have to RAVE about the stylists. I've worked with Jen (the owner), Delilah, and Sydney -- and truly, all of them are utterly FABULOUS. I have short, thick hair, and they have all done masterful jobs of thinning appropriately and cutting it the way I like. What I LOVE: - glamorous place - chic "coloring studio" area -- these gals take their color SERIOUSLY. - everyone is super friendly and skilled - relatively easy to get an appointment - I feel safe to try out wild hair options read more

Your salon is THE "BOMB." Yes, I am showing my age with that overused expression from the 90s but I couldn't help myself. I have been a patron of yours for almost a decade and can't imagine going anywhere else! I trust any of your very capable stylists with my hair, which is rare even in the most sophisticated of salons. I even love your 50s-inspired decor with a modern twist. Being a country bumpkin, the tool chests make me feel nostalgic and love your bad-ass place even more. I have to give a shout out to Kiera who has been my main stylist. She's not only amazingly talented but is so fun to chat with while she takes my hair from drab to fab. Bombshell, thank you for not only making my hair enviable but for putting the pep back in my step whenever I leave your highly rated, quality salon. PS: Your Paul Mitchell product line is also a plus! It keeps my hair looking and feeling super healthy in between cuts. I heart Lavender Mint. read more

I'm OBSESSED with this color Rachel did to my hair. I'm naturally dirty blonde, and am so afraid when it's lightened it'll turn that orange yellow and look super harsh. Nope, it was perfect. My hair feels so soft and is shiny too! I couldn't be happier with the results of the color or the cut! The salon itself was clean and beautiful as well. read more

I called Bombshell Salon because it came highly recommended by my best friend and it had also read great reviews. Admittedly, I was a little nervous because I had had recent bad luck with a salon that I had visited, which left me very stressed and hating my hair. When I called, the lady I spoke with was so nice and suggested that I make an appointment with Delilah. When I arrived, I was greeted with a friendly smile and offered some delicious orange-infused water. Immediately when I met Delilah, I felt at ease. She took the time to listen to my concerns (my hair pulls red/gold and can look orange if it's not done correctly). I showed her pictures, and she showed me various swatches and explained what she would do with my hair. The final result far exceeded my expectations, I couldn't be happier. It has taken me a few really bad, stressful and expensive experiences to finally find this amazing stylist/salon, but, I'm very happy to say that I do not have to search any further. I highly recommend! read more

I have been going to this salon for about 8 years. I will not go to another salon for cuts or color because I trust the women at this salon with my hair 100%--every wild hair dream I have had, the stylists at Bombshell bring to life. I have platinum hair and have had nearly every color of the rainbow on my head. This can be very hard on the hair. All stylists at this salon will deliver input on whether a hair dream will be attainable in one visit or not. Bombshell stylists care about maintaining hair integrity! My hair looks healthy, even after being processed as many times as it as. I recommend this salon to anyone that wants a relaxing and professional hair experience. I see Sierra regularly, but have seen almost every stylist at Bombshell from cuts, to color, to styling. All stylists here deliver consistent results, you will not be disappointed! read more

I had scheduled an apointment for my daughter. She came in 10 mins late so the hair stylist said she could only do a dry hair cut for my daughter which was fine. Eventually, it was only 7 minute hair cut. Her hair turned out mostly same to how it was before. It was a very bad experiment on how they treated young customer. We won't be back even for fixing. Totally wasted! read more

I came here based on reviews. I called a week in advance to schedule an appointment. The lady that answered the phone set me up with ease. When I went in apparently I wasn't on the books. Fortunately for me, Mariah (the stylist I was set up to see) greeted me and was able to squeeze me in. I love how the team work came into play. A very kind lady styled my hair and Mariah came back to make sure I was satisfied. I was and will be back! read more

I had a great experience here! I got a short notice appointment with Jessica who did balayage highlights, touched up my roots, and cut my hair. I had the same done in California regularly before moving here so I just needed a redo. Jessica did not ask a lot of questions, but she didn't need to do! Not only was happier than I usually was leaving my salon in CA, the cost was cheaper too. Bonus! I saw lots of good hair and makeup happening while I was there, so if you're like me and typically need short notice appointments, I don't think there's a wrong choice for stylists! Jessica gets 5 stars for sure though. read more

I think the salon is beautiful, and it's very clean and I appreciated them taking me right away, even though I came in 15 minutes before my appointment time. The reason I'm giving it a 2 is because I came in for a balayage and I wanted a dark auburn fade, my hair is already pretty dark brown. I was anxious because I wasn't sure what to expect, it was my first time here. My hair looks fine, it's blended well but the color I ended up getting is basically a light blondish/red. Not close to the photo I brought in at all, the picture I brought in was a much darker color. I was on a time crunch or I would have mentioned it. Otherwise the place is nice. But for the price you guys charge I think a little more detail to the shade would have helped. I don't think I'll be coming again, because I had to put down a deposit of around $70 just to make the apt for balayage, and if I had known the color would have been completely different I wouldn't have done that, because the deposit for the consultation alone for balayage is non-refundable. read more

This review is for Nairi (who does amazing hair at the salon)! I used Nairi for wedding makeup on my bridesmaids and she did an amazing job! Everyone's makeup stayed all night (despite all of the dancing and sweating). Would highly recommend her for any of your beauty needs! read more

I loved Bombshell Salon. I discovered it about a year before I moved to Texas and deeply miss it. Rachel was the absolute best! I never left the salon with a style or cut I regret. It can be difficult to cut because it will curl right up, but Rachel always did an amazing job. read more

First with the good news: Bombshell is a very cute salon, brightly lit, cute retro girlie decor, and a big space for a salon. I had very high hopes for this place just by walking through the door. It is a Paul Mitchell salon, plenty of their product for sale but also had all sorts of other modern girl on the go items that makes this place almost boutique-y. It's definitely a little out of place in the sea of strip mall shops on Baltimore Nat'l Pike. Now for the not so great news: My stylist (this was the first and only time I've visited thus far) was notified that I was there for my appointment, she came up from to introduce herself and mentioned that she had to make a phone call and I could sit in one of the stylist chairs. I waited 15-20 min. for her to come back... sat with all my things in the stylist chair by myself for that long without anyone asking me if they could hang up my coat or get me some water. I know that they do offer these things since I saw other stylists offering them to other clients. After my stylist finally got to me she let me know that she'd lost her business phone and needed to cancel it... which is fine... but tell me that ahead of time. And the haircut... it was okay, nothing great. $40 + tip for an 'okay' haircut just didn't seem like something that fit with either my lifestyle or budget. Perhaps one of the other stylists would be better? They seemed more attentive than the one I got - and honestly, I'll go back, but that's mostly because it's located near my work and I'm new to the area and don't feel like messing around finding a different location yet. read more
