Before going to Studio She, I'd been researching hair extensions which I was certain that I'd wanted as I prepare for the Mrs. Maryland International pageant. Christina was very honest with me in telling me that she felt that this was not the best option for me. It says a lot about a business when they would rather do right by you than take your money. It meant a lot to me. She could have tried to talk me into doing something outside of my budget for her own benefit, but she did not. This is a testament to her business integrity. One of the many things about our great city of Frederick is businesses like this! While I was there, I was watching Christina put hair extensions in another young lady who was seated next to me. When she was done, it looked completely like her hair from top to bottom. Further, Christina was giving her great instructions as to how to take care of her hair. Christina was able to get me in on a busy Mother's Day weekend to get ready for my son's wedding. Cute, clean studio and I was so pleased with the results! I didn't expect my appointment to be fun, but it was! Christina gave me a beautiful blowout and expertly utilized a fancy hair clip I brought to match my dress. I would love to give 5 stars but I'm not a candidate for hair extensions at this salon. My hair is super curly and tight curls at that. The hair available to the owner doesn't match mine and I guess hair that does match mine is either hard to find or unavailable. Christina the owner was very kind and personable during our consultation and her salon is so cute. I'll need to keep researching where in DMV I can get curly extensions that's not a weave. It would be nice to go to Studio She because I literally live 2 blocks away. In any case, I may go in sometime for lashes when an occasion calls! read more

Let me just start off by saying that this review is for customer service only - I can't speak to the quality of the hair services or extensions, because we never actually got that far. I'm getting married in March 2015 and Studio She came highly recommended by my wedding hairstylist for extension purchases for the big day. I called a month ago (end of October) to set up an appointment to visit the shop and pick out extensions in person. I called CJ (the owner's) assistant directly on her cell phone, as she directed me to do via an Etsy message. We set the appointment for Nov. 22 at 9:30am (a month from the day I called). I live in Arlington, VA but figured this place was worth the hour drive, so I woke up super early and headed to Frederick for my appointment this morning. The Studio only operates by appointment, so I wasn't surprised to see it closed when I arrived at 9:15; I just figured they would open at 9:30 when they saw me. 9:40 came along, and no one had shown up. I called the salon's direct dial, hoping that during off hours it was directed to someone's cell, but no luck. I then called CJ's assistant on her cell phone, twice, and left a voice mail. No luck, still. I decided to try texting CJ's assistant, assuming once she saw the message she'd call back (I know I don't always answer unknown numbers or listen to voicemails right away). She texted back within minutes and simply said that the owner had been stuck in NY since Thursday and would call me when she figured things out. I wrote back saying that I drove all the way from Arlington, couldn't someone else just come meet me to show me the extensions? Now, 4 hours later, I still have not heard back. I understand that perhaps there isn't anyone else to just come meet me, but to not answer my text at all? Knowing that I drove an hour to get to you? Ridiculous. And on top of that, still not a single phone call, from the owner or her assistant, to apologize for the inconvenience and confusion. If you've been stuck in NY since Thursday, why wasn't I called? The assistant claims she didnt see my appointment anywhere, that's even worse. I don't care if your extensions are made from God's hair himself, I will NOT be giving this place a second try, and none of you should bother giving it a first. Plenty of other professional salons in the area to chose from, with better ability to control their schedule and better customer service when mistakes are made. read more

I had tape hair extensions installed early May 2012. I just had my 8 week maintenance appt and re-installation and I can't say enough good things about my extensions, Studio She, the owner, and my stylist. Everyone has always been friendly, either on the phone or in person and every question I've asked or concern I've had has been addressed. My stylist does a wonderful job on my hair (both color and tape extensions installation) and I absolutely love it. I've gotten many compliments on how nice it looks (something that has hardly ever happened to me my entire life as I have extremely thin and hard to grow hair). I did a lot of research on extensions and salons that offered them locally before finally deciding to get them done (I've been toying around with the idea of getting hair extensions for the past *FIVE* years and was scared of my natural hair being damaged so I've researched A LOT). I'm glad I settled on Studio She - I couldn't be happier! Update: I ended up keeping the tape extensions in for a year. I loved having them and my natural hair wasn't damaged. After deciding to completely take them out, I got custom clip in extensions made for me by Studio She and they are so beautiful and of such great quality. I've continued to be very happy with my cuts/color and I also visit the salon for special occasion styling/makeup from time to time. Love it! read more

I ordered extentions online back in December. The extensions I had ordered said that they were in stock, but after a month of not hearing anything about shipping, I sent out an email just checking in. I got an automated response back, not giving me any information. It is now April and I have left numerous messages asking for some kind of information on either when will they finally be shipped out or to ask for a refund. On November 17, 2011 I went to Studio She to have fusion hair extensions added to my hair. Christina "CJ" the stylist and owner proceed to do my hair extensions. The hair extensions cost $1,200.00. The next day after getting the hair extensions, my hair began to spread away from the extensions. I emailed Christina to let her know about the problems that I was having with the extensions.The entire front portion of my real hair split away from the extensions. At this point, I emailed Christina the 2nd time and asked could she simply remove the extensions and could she refund a portion of the money that I paid to have the extensions done and she told me that the entire process was nonrefundable. She kept saying how busy she was and that she basically wasn't able to fix my hair around other people that had scheduled appointments. When I first had the extensions done on November 17th, Christina told me not to apply too much heat or oil to the hair or the extensions would come out. Although I did exactly what she told me to do, a couple days later the hair extensions began to come out of my hair anyway.They would snap out of my hair seemingly no matter what I did. I would wake up in the morning and find them on my pillow case or I would try and brush them with the brush that Christina had given to me to maintain the extensions only to find them in the hair brush when I was done. I emailed Christina for the 3rd and final time to ask her to remove the extensions because they are glued to my real hair and my real hair was coming out with them as they snapped out. Christina continued to tell me how busy she was and how she could not fix my hair or remove the extensions. She also told me that if I were to come in that I would have to pay the price for additional extensions to be added. Christina also told me that I would have to pay an additional $150.00 per hour for her to fix my hair or remove the extensions after I had already paid her $1,200.00 the first time. I had to remove the extensions myself . When I removed them, there was still a lot of glue left in my real hair. I went to 3 other hair stylist and they couldn't get the glue out of my hair either. I had to cut off all of my natural hair. So buyer please beware. read more

I met Christina Jones in January of 2014. I called to get a consult on having extensions done after a horrible hair cut. Unfortunately my hair was cut too short and nothing could be done but to let it grow. She spent 45 minutes with me consoling me about my hair . By the end of the consultation she had me laughing and we came up with a plan moving forward. I have been seeing her every 7 weeks ever since. While in her salon I have seen a very determined business woman work hours on end creating beautiful extensions for her Etsy site. She puts her heart and soul into every set she makes. I followed Amanda from her previous salon because she is that good. Even though it is further for me to drive, it is well worth it. Not only is she good with cuts, color and keratin she is an amazing person to talk with while getting your hair done. Christina is amazing!! I came to her over almost three years ago as a color client. I wasn't even aware of her extension work. Crazy, I know!! It was definitely fate, and no less a miracle, that I walked through Studio She's doors. After having babies, going through severe stress, and being diagnosed with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, my once naturally thick head of hair had turned into very thin, breakable, and lifeless hair that wouldn't grow. I can't say enough about CJ and my extensions and experience. I absolutely love going here. I got extensions glued in for the first time in October and was head over heals!
