The owner: Tamara Taylor just filed a defamation for my review of her salon. What she fails to…read moreunderstand is that, my review is a direct result of my experience, which she acknowledged on this site as well as Facebook. It's called freedom of speech. You can resort to her direct website for a listing of her prices to see that that too was not an exaggeration. I have my mother (whose experience I shared), my friend (who saw her poor weaving skills the day after I got them done in preparation for a wedding) as well as my bank statements to serve as a proof. Dear Tamara Taylor, I'm sorry if revealing my HONEST review of my experience at your salon bothers you. I guess you thought people just leave and keep quiet. Well, we don't. When you treat people unkindly and provide poor service, I have the right to notify others. You need to grow up and learn customer service skills. Bad business and bad experiences should not be kept quiet, that's why reviews are not only legal, but are a good forum to prevent consumers from their wasting time, energy & money in a service that is not up to par.

Came back for the actual service which was really great for when you are seeing someone new. I really liked the stylist and vibed with her. However, the quotes were a bit different from expected but especially the bizarre custom and not verbalized expectations about tipping different people and not paying the stylists directly. The older front desk lady was quite rude and loud about it- very brusque. I didn't want to make it more overwhelming as it already was with the confusing situation. However, I'd like to request management to ensure front desk staff be trained with friendly customer service for paying clients especially if they aren't aware of your custom. I'd like to continue seeing the person I saw next time around but I wouldn't come on the day the old rude lady is there.

I had one of the worst salon experiences of my life…read more I contacted this stylist through Instagram after seeing his advertisements. Before making the appointment, I asked for the price, and I have screenshots showing that I was quoted $120, including a highlight touch-up, toner/gloss, haircut, and blow-dry. When I arrived at the salon, I was suddenly told the service would cost over $400. I was shocked because this was completely different from what I had been told in writing. I started to leave, but the stylist stopped me and eventually lowered the price to $300. Unfortunately, the pricing issue ended up being the smallest problem. During the bleaching process, after about 20 minutes, my scalp and even my ears became extremely hot and painful. I immediately told the stylist that something was wrong. Instead of checking my hair, I was told the bleach needed to stay on for about an hour. I trusted his professional judgment. That trust cost me years of healthy hair growth. After washing my hair, he deliberately stood in front of the mirror while blow-drying so I couldn't clearly see the condition of my hair until he had finished. He never performed the haircut that had been included in the agreed service, quickly parted my hair differently from how I normally wear it, rushed me to pay through Venmo, and I left before realizing the full extent of the damage. Once I got home, I discovered that many of the highlighted sections throughout the sides, back, and underneath my hair had been chemically burned off and broken. My hair had previously reached my waist. Now, many highlighted sections have snapped off dramatically, leaving parts of my hair several inches shorter. The color is also uneven, with dark ends, greenish tones, and a result that looks nothing like what I requested. To make matters worse, the bleach also permanently damaged my clothing. This is far beyond simply being unhappy with a color. My hair suffered severe chemical damage, and I lost years of growth in a single appointment. I have photographs, screenshots of our conversations, proof of the quoted price, proof of payment, and documentation of the damage. I cannot recommend this salon or stylist to anyone.

After conversing with her, I learned that her mother Linda is the owner and that they have been in business for 14 years. They were formally located where the Chick-fil-A is a block away. Aside from Holly and Linda, there is one additional staff member, Kacie. There are three rooms, one on the lower level and two upstairs. In addition to the hair salon, they have a wax room and a suntan room on the upper level. They have complimentary coffee and chocolate candy, and provide magazines in the foyer. Additionally, they also sell hair care products. Holly was very outgoing and thorough. She straightened my baby hair which other places have not done, likely because they don't have a small-sized straightening iron. The price for my smoothing service was comparable to other salons that I have been to, however, this was the only salon that applied a 3% credit card transaction fee. I really enjoyed my experience at the salon and would highly recommend.
