I tried the zeppole, which was delicious. My biggest regret was that I had just eaten and I was…read morenot staying in a place with a kitchen so that I could buy lots of the pasta to cook. Next time, I am going to make sure I have a kitchen so that I can partake of these amazing offerings like the spinach and pork ravioli, the pumpkin and meat tortellini and their tagliatelle. Basically, give me some of everything here. The shop workers were very patient as I investigated every item in the store. It's very close to the main Piazza, so stumbling upon the shop was easy.

The old-fashioned beautiful display reminded me of the winter holidays and enticed me to go in and try something. I decided to buy some sweet rice cake which was charged by the weight. Forgot exactly what is was called " Torta di Riso" but was something di riso as it has rice baked in it and was simply rich and delicious. They also have the famous certosino. it's a traditional Bolognese cake, which is also sort of like a western fruit cake with honey, candied fruit, stewed fruit, jam, almonds, pine nuts, cocoa powder, dark chocolate and wine syrup. The cake was not cheap but was so delicious and memorable that I vow to return when I visit Bologna again.

HOLY FUCK. This place is SOOO GOOD. You MUST come. We would never have known about this except we…read moreran into a pair that we had gone food touring with the day before while we were at the Santuario Maria di San Luca nearby. They told us how good it was so after walking down the porticos, we made our way over here. The lines were out the door and we waited some time, but HOLY FUUUUH it was worth the wait. I got the yogurt, amarenata, and the cantaloupe. The amarenata tho. Better than sex I tell you. It's an almond gelato with hazelnut brittle. OMG I'm dying thinking about it. I nearly walked back in line to get another cone but I already had a cone earlier in the day and hitting three cones in a day felt like too much. Definitely out of the main city center part of Bologna but well worth the trip over here. About a 20 min bus ride from city center but the lines are proof of how amazing the stuff is. Definitely one of my top three gelatos during my 12 day trip to Italy.

Ice cream quality is really good and ingredients are high quality, some are even strange for Italy,…read morelike macadamia nuts... maple syrup... And so on. Had flavor "Cassata Siciliana" that was filled with "real" candied fruits... Not the mixes you can buy in every grocery/market in Italy. Keeping such "good quality" ingredients makes the Gelato a little expensive, but it's still worthy. There is a "long" bench where you can sit and enjoy your Gelato. Place is crowded in the summer nights and it is sometimes difficult to park nearby.
