You'll feel like you've stepped into a sweet shop made by Mr. Willy Wonka himself. This place is just too cute for words. Capitalising on old world designs, this place will make you feel like a child again. Migone Confetti is decorated with bags of lollies wrapped with ribbons and tall glass jars standing to attention filled to the brim with sweets. You'll be tempted to buy everything that your eyes land on. You'll find lollies, chocolate, mazapan fruits, gummies, and decorated plates, teapots and porcelain animal figurines worthy only of grandma's house. I must admit when there were a few other customers in the store things began to get a little claustrophobic. The staff don't really speak English here, at least the ones we met, so brush up on your Italian. read more

More style than substance IMO. Migone has been around since 1916 and is a great place to pick up hostess gifts or something to bring back home. Their displays, and the products - absolutely gorgeous! Expect things to be beautifully packaged and appealing to the eye for sure. The window displays drew me inside where I couldn't resist a bar of chocolate (beautifully packaged in printed paper) and some hard candy strawberries (also perfect - dusted with sugar and in a cute bag with colorful ribbons). Know that it's expensive! That prime location on Via Calzuoli shows up on the price tags here big time. Sadly, the candy itself was "meh" for me. My strawberries tasted of sugar and artificial coloring and the chocolate wasn't better than what I could buy at any supermarket for €1. Staff was disinterested and not at all helpful. Window shop here, but maybe actually buy elsewhere. read more

Love this old-fashioned sweet store! Reminds me of the good old days when you can look at shelves of pretty hard and are mesmerized by the wealth of choices - that's how I felt when I stopped by here. Beautiful window displays. Packs of cookies or candies tardy to be snapped up. Wish I could hang out with the ladies here for awhile. They must have seen generations of Florentines buying candy and cookies...oh yeah, it's almost Valentines Day! While exploring downtown Florence I came across a neat little bakery/candy shop. There's all sorts of chocolates, candy and Italian confectionaries.
