This store only has their brand, but they have a very large selection!! They have a great variety of chocolates (dark, milk, white, with nuts, etc) in different packaging (chocolate bars, gift sets, etc). I chatted a bit with the cashier, and she was so sweet and kind. She shared some of their history and provided recommendations. I bought a couple chocolate bars (milk chocolate with pistachios and dark chocolate with hazelnuts) and a gift set that has some of their signature pieces. Everything was delicious! But definitely pricier than I am used to. Especially compared to the very little bit that comes in the box.

When I need some strong dark chocolate (which provides my brain with a jump start) I'll go for 70% dark. At the same time I enjoy the caffe and pistachio flavors! Thank goodness when I leave Italy from Malpensa airport in the Milano area, they have a Majani chocolate shop in Milano Centrale (train station)! I load up on their thimble-sized squares filling up a bag with assorted flavors. Never leave Italy without Majani chocolato! Ci vediamo Majani!

Some had liquor in them ;) The few I've eaten so far are delicious. I would think the most famous cities in Italy would all have their own local chocolate shops, oh no! Not in Florence. Yes, in Bologna, a culinary capital in Italy. I'm tempted to return to Bologna even as I venture on to other Italian towns and cities. Just for more delicious Roccati chocolates!

Anyhow the service was nothing short of wonderful. They welcomed us and walked us through the whole thing. This gelato was so creamy, smooth, with the flavors being on point. Prices I thought were very reasonable considering what it was and compared to the US. Don't hesitate to try even if they say it's a chain.

I thought the texture of the speculoos was a bit underwhelming and the flavor wasn't that precise either. The pistachio was solid, but nothing super memorable. either.

The jelly was good, the taste of the pistachio in the pistachio cookie was kinda light compared to my expectation. If I'm in Bologna again I'd certainly stop by and try some other items. The old-fashioned beautiful display reminded me of the winter holidays and enticed me to go in and try something. I decided to buy some sweet rice cake which was charged by the weight. Forgot exactly what is was called " Torta di Riso" but was something di riso as it has rice baked in it and was simply rich and delicious. They also have the famous certosino. it's a traditional Bolognese cake, which is also sort of like a western fruit cake with honey, candied fruit, stewed fruit, jam, almonds, pine nuts, cocoa powder, dark chocolate and wine syrup. The cake was not cheap but was so delicious and memorable that I vow to return when I visit Bologna again.

This place has the Central Perk kind of vibe, for the Friends aficionados out there, a cafe where you feel like spending a good hour chatting with friends while also indulging a bit. The pastry and tart selection is definitely rich, the tea selection a bit on the low end, but acceptable. We had cappuccino and a selection of mignons, but I feel that the food is actually a secondary item, the atmosphere takes the cake, no pun intended. The place can get crowded, but there's a fast enough turnover so that the wait is never longer than 10 minutes. All credit cards are accepted, as long as you spend over €10. Add a couple of cookies and you're there already, because the pricing is also very NY-esque. The difference is that you have no skyscrapers around, but you're smack in the center of Bologna, walking distance to the major attractions. If you need to get that extra dose of caffeine after that dish of tagliatelle, or just rest after a day of strolling around, Bianca is a welcome oasis of sweet coziness.
