He let me know the price and timeframe of everything ahead of time and there were no surprises. You can tell he cares about his craft and wants the people he works with to be happy and it really shows. On top of that he is a fun guy with a great personality and my dog loved him! After encountering some challenges, we contacted several contractors for estimates. TJ came over right away and after reviewing all bids we elected to go with him for several reasons. His pricing was fair, he explained everything he was going to do, and gave a reasonable timeline for beginning the project and how long it would take. We made an excellent choice! Four days after he started, the project was complete and the bathroom looks amazing. He took care of all the details, to include incorporating a couple of changes mid-project, fixing potential issues found in an older home, and left the project site clean each day. With current work situations, we work from home and had times during the day where noise had to be minimized and he was incredibly flexible around our schedule

Juan visited my home to personally look at the scope of job that I wanted done. He and I agreed on the way forward at a very reasonable cost. I signed the contract. He and his team arrived as promised to complete the two-day door installation, that included framing, drywall install and painting. His team also installed a cat door to accommodate my son's cat. The job was completed in two days as promised. The Juan and his team exceeded my expectations by their professionalism and skill in placing a door where none previously existed, and the way that the team took care to not damage my recently installed hardwood steps. The attention to detail and the thoroughness given to cleaning up after each day's work were impressive. I'll sum up by quoting my wife, when she arrived home on the second day after the job had been completed. She said, "I am so impressed. They did a marvelous job." Happy wife, happy life!

Our first project was finishing our basement, which included a custom wet bar, a bedroom, and a sauna. The scope of work covered flooring, electrical, drywall, painting, cabinetry, countertops, and tiling. We were so impressed with the quality and attention to detail that we hired them again for a full kitchen renovation. During the kitchen project, they installed a new stove, updated our cabinets and molding, and added a beautiful stone wall feature. Once again, the results exceeded our expectations. This company has truly become our go-to for home improvements. Juan and his team are easy to work with, highly detail-oriented, and committed to ensuring their customers are completely satisfied. As you are aware, I have 2 dear friends that highly recommended W Builders; there is nothing like having people you know and respect give you the courage to move ahead with work I've been wanting to have done for some time now. Embarking on any home project is often very daunting; between the cost, your house turned upside down and of course having workers in your home while you still have to live there. I am so happy to say, you somehow made all of this quite seamless! I've owned my home for over 30 years and have done countless projects so when I tell you that your company has been my favorite and an easy one to recommend, it's saying a lot! The quality of your work is excellent and your staff does not cut corners! One day in passing, your workers specifically mentioned to me how much they enjoyed working for you as you allow them to perform their designated trade in the way they would like things to be done, even if it may take a bit longer. The gentlemen that you had on this job always respected my home which means a lot. The other compliment I would like to pass along is timeless; something that rarely happens in this line of work. Upon requesting a consult for the scope of work, you were quick to set up an appointment and equally quick on providing me with a written estimate. The estimate was detailed and accurate and if I added any additional work you were good at following up on a written statement with the additional cost. The fact that you started the project early and the crew showed up every day, on time and worked more than a full day is impressive and sadly a rarity in this business. Lastly it was easier to make choices on flooring, bathroom fixtures and the like by having you go with me to the store, being honest on your thoughts and guiding me based on my budget. Even when I purchased too much flooring you graciously took it all back and had a credit put back on my card. Thank you for renewing my faith in contractors and for exceeding my expectations with this project, something I had wanted to do for such a long time but had no idea where to start or who to use. Be prepared for my next project in 2024, I look forward to working with you again.

Troy just shrugged that off and was well you get the posts and screen (a special yet durable type of screening that allows for large sq footage without a bunch of cross sections) and here's my price. One section is 12'x10' or 120 sq feet and the finished look is like having a nearly invisible picture window (see pictures.) Troy was quick to return and replace a section when we discovered a small knife cut in one panel that had gone unnoticed and likely happened when trimming excess screen. The only con was his crew spoke broken English however they were competent, friendly and very respectful and courteous while on site and cleaned up 100% every afternoon during this 3 day job. Troy does have a foreman who drops in regularly and helped with language barrier. I highly recommend Stuart's Contracting. However, once they got my signature and deposit it was like pulling teeth to the get the actual project scheduled. I'm also a long distance owner, coordinating the project. So it's especially hard not being in the state. I even flew to VA to chat with them but they ghosted me. Apparently only the owner of the company, Rafael, can only schedule projects on Fridays but he's not available most Fridays to chat. Not the person you start the project with. She can't schedule projects. I really regret going with FKBD for the project. I especially regret it because I paid a premium for the labor, and decided to go with this company vs another younger, cheaper company (VA Creative Renovations - Chris is great - check them out) because I thought they would be on top of the project and get it done quickly and get it done well. Apparently not. There was a lack of follow through and communication. When I did ask for timing and submitted my tile choices with Susan, who was my project manager, she had to call over to Rafael, then he'd call me all grumpy for interrupting his day. Seems like there's a control issue. Then when the project was supposed to start there was an issue with the tile I originally chose, even though I had submitted my design choices weeks prior. They said there was a delay with the tile and they had to change the project start date. Meanwhile I'm trying to coordinate with my tenants. Luckily they are the nicest tenants anyone can ask for. All in all they did a great job on my bathroom - eventually. You just need to be really on top of them.
