    Me enjoying the meal.

Take a break from the south beach "usuals." Authentic Indian food served by authentic Indians. I don't know Maharashtra food enough to know if it's authentic to that state but as someone who has lived in India, it's great. The waiters are attentive and happy to chat.

After being out of home for 7 days, we started craving some Indian food finally. I am not a big fan of Indian restaurants in touristy towns because they tend to serve Indian cuisine in name adjusted to flavors that tourists like but craving won. This place is not a service oriented joint. They started by getting us a bottle of water and disposable glasses without telling us that the bottle costs $8 for plain water. We had our own bottled water and we returned theirs. Then we ordered Paneer wings and chicken 65. Chicken 65 was spicy but flavorful and the paneer wasn't bad either but it had a bunch of Tofu pieces and when complained about it, the server said they confirmed with kitchen, we are mistaken and its is indeed paneer. Nothing pisses me off more than something like this. The rest of the food was decent but the size of the naan is as small as I have ever seen. I think this restaurant wants to maximize revenue from a customer in one visit because they figure that most of their clientele is tourists and they will not come back anyway. We are not going back for sure.

Food was great, servers were attentive and prices were reasonable for being by Miami Beach.

Really really good :) staff super friendly. Real and authentic :) love the vibe and all

I wonder how someone gave review as 5 star with chicken biryani suggestion. Feel sorry for others who went to this place because of some misleading reviews. This place doesn't serve authentic indian food. Rude server guy as well. We tried chicken biryani which basically was just chicken curry with rice and top of that chicken curry without taste. Interior is awesome and on prime location but until food is not improved, I won't suggest this place. Probably they need change of chef.

Delicious indian taste in Miami: we really enjoyed the food and would be visiting again.

"Guess, hype is not that worth. Ok food..." We searched some good Indian food, Bombay darbar was far so decided to go here nearby ocean drive. The ambience is good. Service was bit on the slower side. The portion is not big as it used to any other Indian rest in the USA. We ordered chicken tawa-shrimp tikka masala-dal tadka-kasturi kabab. Dal tadka- plz it was mix veg with daal. Never seen Gobhi in dal tadka. It was also blunt in taste and I asked for spicy dal tadka and they mixed green chilii, means come on Dude. Kasturi kabab was good and so was shrimp masala. Pros- near to beach/ ocean drive It's safe to go there. But if you have the option to go some nice rest then avoid it

First things first, Indian restaurants in general have terrible service. They're not trained in understanding things from a customer's perspective. They generally lack qualified servers with actual experience and are not cognizant of western culture or have empathy. They neither care nor have a will to improve the customer experience. They usually employ family members or other Indian people that are in school or grinding and paying them under the table at subpar wages to avoid violating student visa laws and cutting costs. They will not properly greet you and you must realize that they're clueless about the standard, "welcome to..Can I start you off with a drink"....etc. In addition, you will constantly be forced to flag down waiters to get the basics of the dining experience. I'm telling you all of this because you need to anchor your expectations. The bar is very low. This isn't Applebee's and you won't get that feel from the moment you walk in to leaving. There is no such thing as service with a smile. Excellent Indian restaurants do exist, however, they're a very small minority and are located in expensive metropolitan areas. People eat at Indian restaurants for the deliciousness of the food period. Now let's talk about Bombay Grill. All of the hallmarks of terrible customer experience exist. However, I have come to expect that and have learned to tolerate and ignore it. What underscores this terrible establishment are the following: 1. Menu had all of the South Indian dishes marked as "not available" using a sharpie on the actual menu 2. Most popular North Indian dishes are not listed and have to be specially requested 3. Half the appetizers were not available and the waiter had to check the back to make sure 4. Simple drinks like Chai had to be checked in the back to see if it was available 5. The waiter also febreezed the place after we sat down at a table that he told us to simply choose Finally, the chai came out to my wife in a metal cup placed in a metal bowl making it impossible to touch because of the temperature. A small metal cup of raw sugar was placed next to it. My wife took a spoonful of sugar to the chai. As she later put the spoon down into the sugar bowl, she SPOONED OUT A DEAD BUG! The waiter was nowhere to be found in an empty restaurant! We had to flag someone else to inspect it. She took it to the back, the waiter came back and apologized, and we told him we're leaving. A new low for Indian restaurants and the bar continues to fall. My advice to you - please avoid at all costs. There are plenty of other nice restaurants in south beach.

Save yourself time and money by notvisiting this place. Very expensive, not customer friendly and pathetic food. Nothing was fresh and you could check the quantity in pictures i posted. Def do not recommend this place

Black Dal and by far the best, freshest and hottest garlic Naan i have had so far.

To be upfront - my bar is AGA in Houston so it's high by my experience. I had great Indian food before and this was a treat. Took home Paneer chili so i let you know how that is But big thumbs up to the Bombay bistro (different name as on Yelp but Yelp isn't all that great anyways) Ro

Lots of classic Indian choices that you don't often see in more meal-centric Indian restaurants. Pani Puri: The fried orbs seemed like they were made fresh. The filling was kinda like chole. A really great mix of flavors and textures. Bhel Puri: A bunch of crunchy things with fresh onions, tomatoes and sauce. Takes snacking to a new level. Paneer Kati Roll: $16 for one kati roll feels a tad pricey. However, it was tasty. The roti was cooked fresh to order. There were a good amount of spicy chopped chilis instead to give it a kick. It was about 2:30 PM Saturday afternoon. It was surprising that the restaurant was empty. As I was reading the menu in the window, a young woman asked if I would like to come in and read the menu. The restaurant is not large, but very nicely decorated. The young lady was part of the family owned restaurant and we had a very interesting conversation while I waited for my food. I ordered chicken tikka, mild, rosemary nan, and raita. The chicken was absolutely deliciously marinated in a variety of fresh spices and herbs, and tenderized by soaking in milk. It was prepared in a tandoori oven, at least it was under the 'tandoori' listing on menu. The flavor was wonderful and melted in my mouth. Everything was so good, even the fresh brewed tea. I can't wait to go back. The pricing is also very reasonable. My experience was even nicer as I got to converse with another family member about their business and Indian cuisine in general. I live in Fort Lauderdale, and probably won't be able to travel down as often as I would like, but I honestly highly recommend Swagat if you like Indian food!

I had a very long workday yesterday, so Larry S. offered to order food for me to pick up on my way home. Naturally, I said ,"Let's try Swagat!". He placed the order online. As I was driving to the restaurant, he followed up that there was a $5 online ordering fee and then someone from the restaurant repeatedly called to advise that they were out of one of the items we ordered. So, we did not start off on the right foot. It was unclear if there was parking (they are next to Tacos vs. Burritos and there is parking lot in between the two restaurants, but it's not clear if the parking is for one restaurant or the other); however, I was able to get a street spot right in front. The food was supposed to be ready at 6:15, and it was! Inside, there was only one table occupied and the door was locked, which was kind of odd. The proprietor came and unlocked it and advised the food would be ready in a few minutes - it was! He explained that they just set up online ordering and there was not supposed to be a charge for that, so he handed me the $5 back and apologized profusely! Say what?! Already I was liking the customer service here! We ordered the following: Lasuni Gobi - Indo - Chinese crispy cauliflower in a garlicky coating KFC - Kerala style fried chicken Kebab Tasting - assortment of kebabs Fish Curry - Goan style Two types of naan - butter and garlic Basmati rice Everything was fantastic! Super flavorful; we ordered it medium hot and could have gone a little hotter, but it's always best to be conservative to start as spicing is subjective. For me, the stand out was the fish curry and the fish kebab. The Gobi didn't travel well and was not crispy at all by the time I got it home. Larry really liked the fried chicken. The crisp stood up to the travel time! The dinner pricing is on the high side, but it was totally worth it as the food was not at all greasy or heavy, and the spicing was delicate and nuanced. My only complaint was that the portion sizes were a little small. For a $120 order, it would have been nice to have leftovers. It looks like they have a good lunch special, plus, they have a $60 tasting menu that looks fire, so we are definitely going back! In all, I thought the food and the customer service were really fantastic and I will always welcome another Indian option!
