Weekend breakfasts are tops as they do the Full English then, but weekday breakfasts tick the box too. I had the Eggs Benedict - eggs cooked to a runny perfection with the most delicious hollandaise on a lightly toasted English muffin. And a supporting flat white to wash it down with. Service: Friendly and attentive without hovering. Space: A great spot to work out of (quiet work, don't do your calls here folks, please) and enjoy a beverage and a meal. I can't say they'll be OK with folks hogging a table at peak times but I've only ever been there pre-lunch. Cost: So very reasonable for central London, about £25 for breakfast and a coffee. Takes cards and cash. Give it a go!

The Courtfield is conveniently located across the Earl's Court station. When I entered, I was told upstairs only. I suppose they wanted to fill up the top before opening up the ground floor. They have the loo upstairs by the stairs. There is a simple bar upstairs and you order at the bar for food and drinks. The bar downstairs was more of a full bar. I honestly just wanted a quick meal and a beer then head to my hotel to pass out. After glancing at their menu, I ordered a Steak & Ale Pie with a Peroni. The Steak & Ale Pie came with the options for mashed potatoes or chips and peas with a container of gravy. It came out piping hot and the kitchen didn't take too long considering how busy they were. I did have to sit on the large table with other customers but all good because I met a nice couple from Germany on holiday. Customer service was friendly. Good experience for the first pub I've visited.

Service was good and loved the atmosphere. Definitely a kick'n place for a Sunday night. We both had the Steak & Ale Pie, made with slow-cooked steak and Ruddles Ale in shortcrust pastry, served with buttered mash (or thick-cut fries), peas, and rich Merlot beef dripping gravy. At £15.75 ($20.66 USD), it was a bit pricy with drinks, but fantastic meal, full of flavor and hearty portions. Loved tat gravy! We're so glad we got to enjoy a British classic and would definitely recommend the Steak & Ale Pie! It was so good!

We were immediately sold. We lucked out on a table during a hopping Sunday and were able to snag the last couple plates of their Sunday Roast. The roast was fantastic! They immediately noticed our American accents and chatted us up on where we were from, how we were liking London, etc. They were just overall very friendly and welcoming. My husband and I had a perfect lunch at Maggie Jones's Restaurant in Kensington a week or ago when…read morewe spent a few days in London. I couldn't adore this restaurant more. Maggie Jones's has a storied history. It opened in 1964 as Nan's Kitchen, but by the 1970s, it had become a favorite of Princess Margaret's. She and her husband Lord Snowdon would slip into the restaurant around 9:30pm, sit in a corner booth, and eat the chicken and artichoke pie. They renamed the restaurant Maggie Jones's as an homage to Princess Margaret (Maggie Jones was the name she used when we made a reservation). The restaurant was forced to closed in the summer of 2023, following an electric fire, but it reopened in November 2025. I don't know what it looked like before the fire, but the restaurant couldn't be more charming now! The restaurant is filled with kitschy farmhouse decor and tchotchkes. It's beautiful. It felt like a nana's country kitchen in the best possible way. The service was also great. We had a reservation, were welcomed just as we entered, and then taken such good care of throughout our meal. But the food really blew me away, too. They offer a set menu, which we were - sadly - not hungry enough for. But there was so much on the menu to choose from - we struggled! I ordered Maggie's fish pie with a green salad on the side. My husband ordered their rabbit and mustard casserole. Before these incredible dishes (everything was great - down to the green salad), they also brought us bread with great butter and a crudités platter with a creamy herb dressing. God, I wish we'd been hungry enough for dessert, because ... burnt cream? lemon sorbet? Stilton cheese and celery? bread and butter pudding? We enjoyed some wine (me) and beer (him) with our meal, too! I adored this meal. Maggie Jones's charmed me completely. I'd love to go back and try everything I couldn't on our first visit (Stilton mousse, onion soup, Maggie's onion tart, chicken and artichoke pie, cauliflower cheese for 2...?!) I can't wait to go back.
