Do not visit this place, avoid it. Very rude staff and quite dirty place, need cleaning and refurbishment.

This is a great little vibrant bar deep in the gay village…read more I don't want to compare this to Soho and the other (one) lesbian bar/s in London - but the one difference I will point out is the people. Unlike in the London bars, this place is clearly about good friends coming out to have a good time. A great mix of the older and younger lesbian and a very friendly and un-predatory place. We managed to wander in on Karaoke night (score), and there's nothing about really getting a feel for the place when people are warbling bad pop tunes down a microphone. There was a nice enough selection behind the bar and a few drink offers. There's a large beer garden with plenty of seating, a main bar area with a dinky DJ booth and another room with the obligatory pool table and additional seating. Surprisingly, there's only one toilet - and all night I had no problem in going for a tinkle. I wish I could move this bar down south with me, but I can't. And if I ever return to ole bham- I will certainly pop in again.

The Fox does exactly what it says on the tin 'Fun'. They have some fab cocktails, my favourite is 'The Spanish Inquisition', Licor 43 (a gorgeous Spanish liqueur, made from 43 ingredients, fruits, herbs and roots of the med! basically sunshine in a bottle, Appletons Rum, Kwai Feh (lychee liqueur) and apple juice! you can be straight, gay, bi, trans or lesbian to enjoy this bar, so get your self down there for a laugh!

I kept hearing good things about Eden so decided it was time to give it a go last month. It is…read moresituated a little out of the gay village so I have often been on my way there and got distracted by the many other places on offer. The venue is very deceptive, from the outside it looks like a small pub when infact it is a decent size club venue with a large room at the back for shows and performances. We were treated a very realistic Madonna impersonator complete with outfit changes and backing guitarist. I was surprised with the quality of the act that it was free entry all night, apparently this is the case all the time! Its safe to say a good night was had by all especially Jamie T who really harnessed his inner queen of pop. I will definitely be back to Eden soon i'm just gutted I left it so long before making a visit.

On a recent night out with a friend, we headed to the gay quarter for a night off drinking. We…read moreheaded to a couple of the other bars but stopped off in Eden for a drink. It was a sunny evening so we headed straight outside to the terrace area. When we arrived I was instantly impressed. When we walked in we were greeted by smiles all round and a funky bass line. I'd say it was 50/50 male and female in there which gave the place a great vibe as the other places I've been in the area had a predominantly male crowd. The drinks were reasonably priced; I bought a couple of wines and a couple of shots which came to around £10. I'd definitely go there again. Good atmosphere, nice crowd, funky tunes!

The Loft Lounge - They've had the fireplace removed and the place looks huge!!

It gives me hostel / shared living room vibes. Staff were friendly and explained the 2 for 1 drink specials. We just went for an easy beer and wine before heading somewhere else for dinner. It's a decent spot for a quick drink or sitting outdoors on a sunny day. It would be nice if they tried to clean up the indoors a bit more although it was bright and cheery with good music.

The loft lounge is a great little bar located in the heart of Birmingham's Gay Village. It has a…read moreslightly different feeling to the other bars in the area that makes it work well as a daytime lunch/drinks spot as well as a top nighttime location. The bar is very elaborately designed with large chandeliers and art work on nearly every surface or wall. The designers/owners have definitely adopted the 'more is more' approach here and it has worked well for them. The bar feels cosy and full of personality with welcoming bar staff and an equally lovely outside area/courtyard. As we all know happy hours/two for one offers on cocktails are a very good thing....Loft lounge has a two for one on selected cocktails most evenings after work! The drinks are well made and taste as they should, on our last visit our drinks did take a little while to come but the bar was very busy so this was completely understandable. If you are in the area loft lounge is well worth a visit. Great for meetings, lunch or as I mentioned a little after work drink with friends. On weekends the DJ's are also pretty good so this place also makes a good start to any night out. Ill definitely be back soon.

Sidewalk - This place is awesome to say the least!…read more Sidewalk; in the heart of Birmingham's Hurst street, formerly known as The Angel, is the place to be seen, whether your after fine-dining, drinks and cocktails, coffee and people-watching, or a good night out with music to mingle.... I visited this bar & restaurant today and took my mother there for a slap up lunch, being a landmark Birthday for her, and initially thought I may struggle for options, both being veggies. The service was great, and the place was immaculate, with ceiling to floor windows, luxurious fittings and comfy sofas that you almost fall asleep in. The food isn't too over priced, but you get what you pay for. I tried the Halloumi cheese and salad option with beetroot, whilst my mother had chips, garlic bread and a plethora of a few other things. If you like good food, at a reasonable price in comfortable surroundings, this is the place to be. There are also several alternatives if you like your meat with a good hearty menu. The refurb of Sidewalk has done the place wonders. It also draws a large following on most weeknights, with locals tippling on champagne, wines, cocktails etc. The downstairs bar is fitted out with beautiful velvet seating, and welcoming lights that add an atmosphere of curiosity - the perfect venue for a date! Whether your looking for a place to relax and have a coffee, a nice decent meal or a good evening out, this place will not fail to please. So, what are you waiting for? I loved it, will certainly be going back, and maybe even hire out a booth or two...
