My experience was that Family Glass and Mirror did an overall good job installing our shower glass…read moreand we are finally happy with it. However, as a subcontractor, they do not correct deficiencies without getting the Prime contractor involved. We had two issues that required two callbacks to fix. The first issue was that the installers left their trash at our house and our shower hooks were crooked. There were parts left on the floor and broken drill bits left laying around. When I asked about straightening the hooks, I was told to get an Allen key and do it myself. The second issue is that the shower glass was cut incorrectly and scraped the oil rubbed finish off of a hinge exposing the bare bronze. Family Glass and Mirror' owner and/or manager "fixed" this with a sharpie to color in the exposed brass. After discussions, he refused to replace it, said the sharpie fix was a viable fix, stated that the glass couldn't be shaved down without a 2 week send off and would only replace the hinge if mandated by the Prime contractor. I wrote the Prime contractor, didn't even complain, but just explained the "fix". Luckily, the Prime contractor also thought that the hinge should be replaced as we paid for new parts, not damaged parts with a marker to cover the damage. The hinge was replaced and the glass was magically able to be shaved down so the rubbing wouldn't happen again. Their business model seems to be to do the bare minimum to correct deficiencies, as long as the customer doesn't complain. I would only hire them with the buffer of a Prime contractor to ensure quality work and repairs.
