If I could give this company 0 stars I would. I worked for Bolt security for a while and there has been nothing but shady behavior from both Diana the president and the lead supervisor named Paul. I was lied to as to where I was going to be conducting the patrols 'at a school district' there was no security office or surveillance cameras and they placed the guards by themselves. I was paid what was agreed and though my payments were causally late; on the last month that I had worked for Bolt they refused at first to give me my last 2 paychecks. On one occasion I watched a drive-by happen that was half a block from me when I was opening up one of the gates for one of the schools and realizing I literally had no backup I decided that that was the last straw with this job. The other guards I worked with showed up whenever they wanted,only 1 guard I worked with was legit. they left whenever they wanted so I never had backup, I never knew when the supervisor was on shift because no emails were ever sent out, and when there was an incident involving a drunk driver the lead sup Paul and Diana threw me and the other guards under the bus to cover themselves. This is a super shady company and for other guards that I know looking for work, I told them to never apply for this job, and stay away from Bolt Security. 2 guards in the same weekend I worked were murdered while I was on shift in the same district. Bolt Security is currently in a lawsuit. Both Paul and Diana have been rude and incredibly unprofessional. I had to call many times over 2 weeks to see when I would be getting my last 2 checks being but they refused to give them out at first. The last time I called the Scottsdale office I asked politely when my last full check was coming and some guy who picked up hung up on me. I ended up getting the check in the mail in full. The security cars were always dirty and had disgusting smells, they demanded 20-hour coverage yet refused to pick up the phone to send someone out to give the guards gas so we could do our patrols, they blamed the guards for 'not doing enough patrols' when it was all lies. The only other company in security that I can think of that was almost as bad as Bolt is Securitas. Don't expect anything to happen from management safety-wise if someone shows up with a gun at one of the schools you are patrolling. Was asked by site client and the traveling lead three months ahead to attend an event at the end of school year (graduation), and naturally I accepted. Day before event, I was called by Paul and was yelled at for trying to do things by the client method. Accused of working for the site like I understand that I work for bolt but traveling to and from work costed a lot of gas at the time, and for the event, I would've gone with the crew there and met up with the officer in charge at the event. Speaking of, why did I sign up for the event three months before with the OIC to be on the list for it, only to be not on it and go through Paul to be on the list? What was the point of lead asking me then. The site itself, I didn't like the location cause of the conditions. Stuck in a shed where there's barely any shade let alone being able to do the job. Bunch of wrong way drivers and not giving any consideration to others. I honestly think this company is really disorganized and I really hope that the owner and her office staff reads the reviews. Hoping they'll consider fixing their ways and understand that it's not entirely about them but about how they manage their team. How are you going to assign a job to someone that you hired, and then yell at them for reaching out for questions? Let alone letting them speak while on the phone. More of a one way street rather than a cooperative friendly company that is represented. read more

There's a good reason why I lasted almost 6 years where I am now and only four months with Bolt. It's always fun when they retaliate against you if you report them for cutting your paycheck down to minimum wage after they say that the client was embarrassed by you thanks to the fuckups committed by the dispatcher not telling you about the email that they supposedly sent and you didn't know about, that contained the post orders! Stupid! They also lowblowed me when I got hired at my current job. I got job offered so fast that I didn't have a chance to give a proper notice. Okay, this is a review from a business manager, not an employee. It is my opinion that Bolt Security Guard Services has to be one of the most unprofessional organizations out there! Any guard that was worth while that was sent to our business would only last a paycheck or two before they left for a better employer. I don't know for sure what happened, other than being told by Bolt emotes that their checks were constantly shorted. I do know that they did not supervise their guards at all at my business, and the guards know that they won't be supervised, so they do what they want. I was hired to work for Bolt at a school setting. The hours were perfect so I accepted it. It doesn't take long to realize what a horrendous company this is, however. The school itself was a great job but Bolt Security is the worst employer. The owner Diana thinks she can cut peoples checks short every week. Almost every employee has had their checks be late, up to 2 weeks. I once had 2 checks come at once because of how long the first one took to come. They do not offer direct deposit unless you stay way longer than you should (a few months). I was getting paid $14/hour but I was given a check for minimum wage, because I was exposed to covid and had to take a few days off to get tested and quarantine. I called the Bolt office once I received my check wondering why I was shorted over a dollar per for every hour I worked. Diana, the owner, decided to throw a hissy fit on the phone arguing with me about the pay. I asked her if I could speak and she said "actually no." One of the rudest people you could meet. She is a really shady person and it's actually very surprising she has managed to keep this business from going in the hole this long. It must just be due to the fact that the businesses that contract with her are desperate for security and maybe can't afford a reputable business? Not sure. Anyway, long story short this is an agonizing company. I don't see why anyone would want to waste their life working for a snarky woman who as all the reviews show, breaks laws and treats people like their opinions or concerns don't matter in any way. I honestly debated suing her for taking money from me since it is illegal to continually short people on pay despite signing paper work that specifies the rate of pay. She is an HR nightmare, if this company even had HR! I could go on forever about what a truly atrocious business and business owner that resides at Bolt Security but hopefully this review will prevent other people from being sucked in. I know times are hard right now and you may need a job, but please RUN FAST if you get a call from Diana!! DO NOT WORK HERE. Work for a company that will do the bare minimum and at least pay you! Forget company morale, employee appreciation or ANYTHING you need if you get on with Bolt. The one good review you'll see on here is from Jess (the Tucson branch manager for Bolt) and she has talked badly on Diana and this company so many times to me and the other employees. I'm not sure why she puts up with it. But if it wasn't for the owner putting her up to leave that review, this place would have only 1 star reviews, as it should. I have been with Bolt Security Guard Services for a year now. Their office staff is very friendly and helpful. I have always been able to get help with any questions I had or if there was a problem they worked quickly to resolve it. The patrol vehicles are very nice and the uniforms are good looking too. I was an exemplary employee. I did not miss one shift. I reported early. stayed late. filled in when other guards called off. I was recruited by the owner of the company If you like; No Health insurance options Low pay No Training or support Pay for your uniforms No Direct Deposit Incompetent management. The owner of this company has failed to pay out my time worked. There was an emergency in my family, and the company has failed to even check on me and has decided to try to keep my paycheck away from me, because the owner is selfish and upset. This company is horrible, and unprofessional Herbert is a great guy, who I respect a lot. This company is not good for business, and it does not care about its employees. This Bolt security company hired me as a security guard on a Wednesday and wanted me to go to work on a Thursday. I was already working as a security guard at the time and wanted to give my present employer a 2 week notice. They were insistent that I start work immediately. I told them that I could start on Friday. I pointed out that I would "be burning down bridges", with my present employer, by quitting without adequate notice. Well I reluctantly went to my present employer and quit , thinking that I would be working the upcoming Friday. On Thursday morning their account manager called to tell me, that the present security guard was not changing posts, therefore this $12/hr job was no longer available. The account manager told me , that he was going to look for other jobs and that he would call me back in about two hours. Well , he never called me back at all. Keep in mind that I was already issued uniforms and given paperwork to start at this new job. Their management is incompetent, they do not have integrity and they caused me to quit a job, that I can never get back !!! read more
